"It had been awhile since I had lunch here. We arrived around 3:30pm and it was quiet and empty. I was unaware that they have a Happy Hour Menu until 6pm (even on a Sat). The entrees we ordered were fairly priced, even wine and a few cocktails. I thoroughly enjoyed the pear salad which had a delicious blend of greens, sliced pears (soft), crumbled pecans and bleu cheese. My fish slider sandwich had a nice crunch to it. Fresh with a good amount of slaw. The chocolate cake was delicious! Dense and very chocolatey with a creamy frosting. Our waitress was attentive enough and kept checking on us throughout our meal. Much appreciated. The interior of this place is always nice and I love sitting by the big windows. I choose this place as my fave place to dine in downtown Livermore. Consistently good food and service."

"We went to Midgely's Public House on December 23rd to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is located in Lincoln Village in Stockton and the entire area was beautifully decorated for Christmas. I booked a reservation through Open Table and check-in was simple and easy. The lady who checked us in also wished us a Happy Anniversary which was nice!The hostess took us to a table that wasn't clean, but we stood by waiting while she quickly bussed and cleaned it. This was a little strange since the restaurant was empty and there were plenty of booths and tables available. Our server, was great - very attentive and friendly. My husband and I ordered a dozen oysters which were superb, flavorful and good sized. I had a Bailey's coffee and my husband ordered a crisp Savignon Blanc. We shared a French Onion soup (perfection) and each ordered the house ribeye steaks which were nicely done. For dessert, we split a creme brulee which was delicious.We had a great time and will definitely be back. The Happy Hour menu and specials looked pretty good and we're excited to try it!"

We didn't want to pay for the more expensive Italian restaurant and ended up at Mel and Faye's. The place was hopping! Inside and outside. We ended up getting and splitting a 10 oz NY Steak w/salad, vegetables, Texas toast and baked potato. It was more than enough for both of us. Our server was adorable! I can't remember the last time we got that kind of attention, especially when they were so busy and missing a couple of servers. It was obviously a favorite for locals and it was enjoyable to watch their interactions."

As far as the beer, for the life of me, I can't remember what I ordered, lol. But it was a west coast IPA on tap, and was really good. Location was easy to find, my son ordered me a mango shake with rum and it was sooo yummy! My son ordered the baked potato skins, and garlic parmesan fries and both of them were delicious. Service was quick, responsive and welcoming. We got in the queue and my son and I got to sing a song together for the first time... More than Words by Extreme and we killed it! Glad we went. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive and sweet. There was more menu options online but not on the menu at the restaurant. I was going to order the wedge or blue salad but wasn't on the restaurants menu...Oh well. I had the blue burger with no salt fries, crispy, that's exactly what I got, delicious. Hubby had the pastrami burger and salad, WOW, he loved it, the others with us had the Bauer burger and they loved it as well. We loved the fried zucchini so much I ordered another, glad we did. They tried, but it couldn't... We should've sat outside! Ordered meals for 8. 3 more tables arrived AFTER we got there. They all got their food before us. After about 45 minutes, our food trickled out, one plate at a time, over the next 15 minutes. Kids cheese pizza worse than frozen. The salads were served on hot plates with the main courses. (So salads were hot) One of the salads did not have the salad dressing on it.Popcorn chicken was served, tossed in bbq sauce, instead of BBQ on the side (as requested). The chicken parm sandwich wasn't made from chicken breast. It was inedible parts of the chicken breaded.Our server abandoned us after the food was delivered, but I went to the bar and asked for drink refills and another server cheerful helped! There was one good thing: All of the fries were hot and crispy! This place has 'lots of potential' with a few adjustments in the kitchen and the server."
