I've been launching from Buckley Cove since I was in college. Back then it was with my best friend on her Dad's boat, now it's with the hubs (same exact model of boat I might add-same year too). The hubs and I decided to take a late evening ride on the river tonight....after all the crazies got off! Buckley Cove is open 24 hours and has a guard shack with a guard on duty. There's a nice park right on the water for picnicking, restroom facilities and an RV park too. It's owned by the city, conveniently located just 5-10 minutes from March Lane & Interstate 5 and is an easy tootle to the downtown waterfront or the Windmill Cove area. We had a few surprises tonight. A fireworks show to the north and later in the evening one to the south west. It was unexpected since tonight was the 3rd. We also relaxed on the water listening to the bullfrogs serenade us. Before pulling back into Buckley Cove, Bob asked if I'd like to go downtown. Sure. The Downtown Marina was almost full, a hip band was playing Tower of Power tunes from the patio of Chivita's and baby ducks were swimming in a row near the events center. We lingered to hear the band and then headed back to the cove. All in all a very nice 3rd of July evening. We thought it would be insane to be out on the river on the 4th of July since literally 5-6 thousand boats get on the river to watch either the downtown fireworks or the Barron Hilton fireworks every year....could you imagine trying to get "off" the water after the show is over?

So the park is cute, small. Secluded. Areas you can fish, etc. It does what it's meant for... my review is my experience today while dRiving up to the attendant window. On 11/26/19, around 12:50PM, we drove up and a lady with glasses was sitting on her phone. We asked her how to get to the boat houses (so the dock) which is apparently right through the park areA to the right and she rudely goes "I DONT KNOW. I DONT KNOW" and shut the window while we were still attempting to speak to her, on us and sat right back down and went back on her phone. We had to drive all around and figure it out ourselves where the dock was! Mind you, we were dropping off groceries to a gentleman who lives here and he had to explain what the attendant did not bother to help us with. Maybe some customer service training with this lady would help. I've never had any other issues ever with any other attendants, they're all usually great! But she was rude right off the bat!

This is the only boat launch we've ever used & we've always been happy with it. I've gone with friends to other launch sites (like Paradise Point), but this one has the rest beat. There are four docks so you never have to wait too long to launch or load your boat (even when everyone & their mom wants to be on the Delta). They've done a great job with cleaning out the algae that used to permeate the launch area & maintaining the docks. Prices have gone up (but unfortunately, all launches have). This location is really convenient & has ample parking.

I'd say this is the best launch facility in stockton. The boat ramps are well maintained and the incline of the boat ramp makes it easy to launch a boat and pull out your boat. I can't remember but I think there are 3 launching lanes or maybe 4. You can buy an annual pass here and it's really cheap compared to other areas. I do miss this place since I'm not close to it anymore.

So it's taco Tuesday of course we are trying to put some gas in the boat! This place closes at 5 and we were docking at 4:58, I get that's close, but technically not closed. Couldn't believe the lazy son of a bitch was out there looking right at us and as we docked he waddled his ass back in his golf cart and took off, just closed right in front us! I've seen this guy before and he rarely does shit anyway, but this rendered a review! Hopefully he quits makes the whole place look bad!

On March 23 2014 I launched my boat, parked the truck in full view of parking attendant, went for a ride, retrieved truck & trailer, noticed truck running rough and loud, got home to find converter stolen. 3200.00 Called city they said the recording device not working besides they don't review for the public. They sent me a claim form and told me I would probably hear from the bankruptcy court telling me to stand in line. Don't use this Launch it is very costly!!!
