A field heavy park. We needed a quick break off the highway with the kiddos and this spot served its purpose with a play structure. The play structure was solid with some climbing, slides and swings. Note: it's not shaded. There was a big pavilion that seemingly you could reserve. And there are fields... many of a grass space, baseball diamonds and more. There was a volleyball tournament and still room for so much more.Overall, a solid neighborhood park.

The center and heart of west sacramento. This park is huge and beautiful. Anytime you visit chances are you will run into some type of event or families at play. Clean park with plenty of facilities from bathrooms, baseball fields, tracks, playground structures, etc.

Another fun park for my kids to expend their energy. I like that this park has a gazebo-like shade that shields the playground during the hot summer days.

Loved this park! Great play ground with good clean structures and sun shade! We went at noon and we enjoyed a lot of shade!

Located in a down on it's luck neighborhood, Bryte Park suffers from a serious lack of charm. It's mostly a flat soccer/baseball field, but there's a nice running track attached and mature trees line the sides. There's also a slightly beat-up workout area that's old, but usable in the back corner by the track.Travel behind the park and you'll come across a river levee area that seems perfect for getting your four-legged best friend some exercise. There's a couple of spots where the river and dock areas are visible. I was impressed with an effort that's being made to plant some seedlings in this area. Unfortunately, they seem to be suffering from recent neglect and drought. Most impressive is the handicap accessibility to this area. I don't know how feasible it would be for someone in a wheelchair to make it up the long, somewhat steep ramp. I used it for an added incline to my walk. They also installed a special designated handicap parking spot at the base of the ramp that would be large enough for someone with a van to fit. It's too bad the main park is not more aesthetically pleasing. After searching for nice parks in West Sac, the only one that I've been truly happy with is River Walk. Maybe with all the positive things that seem to be happening on the other side of the West city, they can eventually find a few coins in the coffer for a park that could use a little love.

One review described the neighborhood as "down on it's luck" I take offense to that. Working class for sure but nothing wrong with that.About the park the track, baseball field, & basketball courts could use an upgrade. The softball fields & soccer fields are great though. Which caters to the majority of events here. The levy trail is cool & takes you all the way to the River Walk. They put a Disney playground here which is good for the little ones.

I got balled up here once. Some real hoopers here. They usually meet at 6:30. A kid called the bryte park legend was a real thrill to watch.

DISNEY -KABOOM TOM SAWYER PLAYGROUNDJune 5th, Opening Day, Noon : "Underwhelming and low-budget" would be the best description of this highly anticipated Disney inspired playground. ZERO shade to be had, making every piece of equipment searing hot to the touch of even adults callused palms. Compared to the existing playground (near the baseball diamond) Tom sawyer playground is double in size but has very few features that would said to be of legendary Disney Imagination caliber. As wealthy as Disney is, more money was seamingly spent on woodchips than notable play equipment. Cliché simple climbing ladders and non-moving hand/foot crossings left little to be explored for engaging adventures. One unique swing draws most of the attention - and crowd to use it. Did I mention the entire playground is void of shade: no trees, nor awnings, nor umbrellas, ?nor drinking fountain?

Beautiful park. The hubby plays flag football here on sundays. Bathrooms are not in the most ideal location. They're across the street and it's a pretty good walk to get there- especially I the middle of a good game. Street parking available. There's also a small dirt lot to park in and 2 play areas for kids. There's not a ton of shade either. Bring lots of water and sunscreen.
