The ramp is nice The marina store might as well not even be there they have almost nothing inside. My biggest complaint is the people launching and pulling out for the day. Absolutely zero boating skills and zero understanding of how to use courtesy docks. We don't put up with this at our lakes and delta

If I had to choose only one trail to hike in Folsom for the rest of my life, I would choose Brown's Ravine.Parking/day-use is $12, but it's free to hike, cycle, or ride in, if you're a local just passing through. This is probably the best place in Folsom to see the lupine bloom, and right now (early spring) is the best time of year to see it. In just a few more weeks or so, it will be gone until next year.Other wildflowers I've seen here include irises (in multiple colors), shooting stars, tritelea, wild onions, monkey flower, poppies, and so many more. I usually see more mushrooms and wildflowers here than anywhere else in Folsom. In trail miles, Brown's Ravine is about 3.5 miles from Folsom Point, or 5.5 miles from Folsom Dam. However, I personally feel that the hike between Folsom Dam and Brown's Ravine is relatively boring. I would actually recommend skipping that section. My favorite section of trail is in the opposite direction-- the 12 miles between Brown's Ravine and Salmon Falls. This is also the direction you should hike if you are trying to get a good view of the lake or the lupine bloom from above. The hike itself is relatively easy, to moderately challenging, at most. There is a lot of climbing up and down, and the footing can be steep or tricky in places. Most people should be able to handle the first 3 miles without too much difficulty, though. After the first three miles, there are often downed trees to climb over. Sometimes, there are marshes to be waded through. Once, on Christmas, I found a creek to be raging so badly that I actually had to turn around. Overall, though, on most days, it's a relatively safe trail. There are plenty of wild animals out here, including deer, coyotes, bobcats, and probably even mountain lions. There are also lots of birds, but my favorite are the giant herons, which nest high in the trees in a grove near the ravine.Last time I was there, the herons were having a huge fight. This one heron kept attacking another heron's nest, and kept getting sent flying over the edge, only to right itself mid-flight, and go right back to the attack. It was crazy.Anyway, this is a great place to see what Folsom has to offer, nature-wise, and experience the outdoors. Very highly recommended.

Love this place! We come here a lot during the summer time. We have already been twice this Spring season. There are plenty of places for shade, sun, sand and lakeside. This place is great for picnics, there are picnic areas and tables all around. There is plenty of parking. Even when it's extremely packed, I've never had an issue parking my car. We have a boat and this place is perfect for boating. The spot is so convenient and set up perfectly. The parking area is longer for hitches, and the ramp is really easy to lay your boat right in. This is a perfect summer spot, and a great place to meet up with friends and or family. My suggestion is to go early, bring a pop up tent, bring food, bring digging toys if you have children, and last but not least- bring CASH. The entrance only accepts cash. It's about $20 for boats and $12 for cars, as a warning. This is a must, I definitely suggest it!

This place is conveniently located and tucked away in a nice view of a drive. There are two entrances to the ravine in which can get you to the lake and easy boat launch access. I came here with a group of friends to boat on a party barge and it was the perfect location for a meet up. We launched from the first cove /ramp from the Folsom side. I am told by our friend with the boat that it is repetitively inexpensive to house your boat there for the year. I am not sure how much it was to park or for day use as we had lyfted to meet up with our friend.Looking forward to coming here again and maybe checking out for a floating area or a place to wade in the water.

If the lake levels are good, it's a great spot to launch your paddle board or kayak. It's always clean and well maintained. Staff is friendly. It's $125 to a season pass to come other wise it's over $10 for day use. You can use cash or check at the entrance otherwise the "floating marina store" takes credit cards. I love the cove to the immediate left as you come in to Brown's. It's quite and mellow. Good to learn how to paddle if just beginning.
