I fell in love with Brookshire Gardens years ago when scouting locations for a corporate holiday party. I've grown up here and love that the venue included one of the area's most historic homes. So I knew as soon as I became engaged, that I wanted to get married here. The ceremony site is simply gorgeous with its canopy of walnut trees and ivy covered arch; we only added a bit of decor to the start of the aisle as it was perfect as is. Booking a year in advance, didn't think we would have weather issues in late May but we ended up having to deal with a rainstorm. Kurt and Nina were awesome and let us set up tents last minute the Friday before so that they were ready to go on the big day. They even provided a pop-up tent of their own to cover our DJ. Even though we had to limit our decor to the minimal covered areas, our wedding was still the perfect day we had always dreamed of. Brookshire was reasonably priced (especially as it comes with all tables and chairs), spacious with a great layout that easily flows from ceremony to reception, naturally gorgeous (i.e. minimal decor needed and numerous photo ops), and close to town to avoid travel fees, yet still feels private and remote. Kurt and Nina were so sweet and easy to work with, you could tell by their enthusiasm that day that they truly love what they do. They were so helpful and also very prompt in returning our security deposit. Thank you for being a part of our forever!

My husband and I were married at Brookshire Gardens in October. We wanted a rustic fall wedding under the trees, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue. It was GORGEOUS. The property lends itself so beautifully to a naturally-inspired wedding, and Kurt and Nina couldn't have been easier to work with. We were able to do everything we wanted, it was fully customized to our tastes, our vision, and our guests. As a matter of fact, we've heard from so many of our guests that the wedding ceremony, the location, the decor, all were so breathtakingly perfect. It was the synergy we'd hoped for, and it wouldn't have been the same in any other location. We looked at a number of other properties, but this was by far the best match for beauty, ease of use, cost, and customization. We were going for a DIY wedding, and we had the freedom to bring our vision to fruition without a ton of hurdles, no hidden or outrageous fees, and complete ease of working with the owners. As a matter of fact, we shared a glass of wine with Kurt and Nina in their kitchen, after we packed everything up late in the evening, they were just so cool to hang out with. The bride's cottage was a wonderful bonus for the wedding party's use, and all of the little details and beautiful gardens made the photos just breathtaking. I fully recommend Brookshire to anyone looking to get married outdoors in the beautiful foothills of the Sierras!

Absolutely lovely! Attended on October wedding here last week, and it's absolutely the perfect little spot for a small Autumn affair. The home itself is this perfect quaint country cottage, and the outdoor space is full of picturesque trees. The space is well laid out for reception on one side, then a cute little walkway to the other grass area for dining and the patio for dancing. The owners are this delightful couple who clearly care about their guests. They hugged the bride with the love of a family member, watched on at events with joy in their eyes, and offered all the help they could. It's a charming little venue with plenty of space to make for the perfect ceremony!

If you are a DIY bride looking for a beautiful outdoor venue look no further! This gorgeous garden setting is perfect for a vintage/rustic wedding. I fell in love with the location as soon as I walked inside the barn full of antiques. I was given total freedom to make my dream wedding come true. Kurt, the owner, was friendly and easy going and a pleasure to work with. All of my guests fell in love with the venue and remarked on what a hidden treasure it is. You will be doing your own set up and take down so be sure your friends and family are the kind that will lend a helping hand, a DIY bride can't be taking down decorations after her wedding! If I had to do it all over again I wouldn't change a thing! So glad we went with Brookshire Gardens!Below are links to blog features of our wedding:http://www.jaquilynshumate.com/2013/02/kimberly-and-devin-sacramento-wedding/http://www.ruffledblog.com/brookshire-gardens-wedding/

Just had my wedding here 3 weeks ago, and I was very pleased with our choice of venue. :) We had an evening wedding, so the weather was good despite it being the middle of August. We also had a very DIY wedding and the owners were very flexible, very chill people, so it was a great fit. If you are looking for a place that does all the work, this is not your venue--it doesn't come with staff or even a coordinator, just chairs, tables, and a few decorations which may or may not fit into your wedding decor. But if you are like us, and like the independence of doing the work yourself, this is a fantastic location. Many people have told us our wedding was beautiful and that the location was gorgeous. We also chose this area because we were from out of state and wanted a venue that would not require lots of decorations in order to look beautiful, as we would not be around long enough before the wedding to design and set up lots of decorations. We had a few main decorations, but for the most part the venue itself was beautiful enough without any additions. The only thing I didn't realize prior to the day was that the bride's getting ready area is basically the only indoor area available to guests, so I had a LOT of people walking in and out of the area as they worked on setting up the venue the day of, which was a little annoying, but certainly did not ruin my day. If you are the type of bride who values her privacy, you may want to plan ahead so that people aren't setting up while you're getting ready, or even get ready elsewhere. That said, I would absolutely recommend this spot to any bride who is looking for a beautiful outdoor spot for her ceremony & reception. You can see pictures of my wedding here (updating link since my photographer changed her website): http://linaryann.com/2015/09/brookshire-gardens-mr-mrs-swift/

We just got married here in June and it was super sweet. All outdoor venue which is just wonderful with the great greenery around. Random location but that adds to the charm. Kurt and Nina are a delight and are super laid back. They hang around and help out which is awesome and they just feel like people you would want at your wedding.Anyway getting married is awesome so i can't really imagine not enjoying my wedding day but I would advise you to check out Brookshire. You'll be treated like normal rational people which is nice. Some people tend to think your insane since your in the midst of planning a wedding. Kurt and Nina will make things easy for you.

If you are looking for a beautiful, leafy paradise in which to hold your ceremony, THIS IS THE PLACE!Our daughter was recently married in this venue, and I'm not sure I can express just how wonderful a time we had here! The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The building the women prepared themselves in ("the barn") looks to be a historic building. It is in excellent repair and full of all sorts of nice little bride-related touches and amenities (as well as AC). Aside from the large reception area and the walnut tree-covered ceremony green (which is stunning in the afternoon light, by the way), the venue has a wide variety of smaller porches, patios, and alcoves which our wedding photographers were beside themselves about. Lots of beautiful picture opportunities! The reception green is in full shade by the late afternoon and stays pleasantly warm after sundown (we were there Labor Day weekend). No one complained of cold and there were no annoying mosquitoes or biting bugs of any kind (and I should know since I am a mosquito magnet!)There is parking on the premises as well as an additional rather large lot across the road which can be easily rented along with the venue (make sure your event insurance covers both). There is also a nice, wide, paved space next to the reception green which made an excellent dance floor! The only thing I would have changed, I think, is to have restricted on-site parking to just a very few vehicles. There is more than sufficient parking across the road and no need to have any but the bride/groom's get-a-way car, the elder grandparents' cars, and the caterer's on site. Then they can be tucked out of the way and are less likely to appear peeking over hedges in photos. But this is a *very* minor thing and hardly affected us at all.Kurt & his wife are wonderful to work with. They are very relaxed and also quite helpful throughout the entire setup / breakdown process. We really have nothing but positive things to say about our whole experience here! It's well worth it!

We just had our wedding here on July 1, 2017 and it was the perfect venue for us. We got so many compliments regarding the location and quality of the venue from our guests. Our wedding turned out beautiful and perfect thanks to the gorgeous setting of Brookshire Gardens and its convenient location! So convenient in fact that most of our vendors did not charge any delivery or travel fees because it was so close. Our wedding was the largest Brookshire will host at 150 guests, but it did not feel crowded at all. And even on a hot July day everyone was comfortable because the property is so shady! It was such a treat getting ready in the Bride and Groom suites! Both are lovely and spacious with air conditioning, a private bathroom, and a kitchenette. The owners, Kurt and Nina, were amazing and helped us so much in planning our special day! The price was also amazing: all tables and chairs included, get ready on site, ample parking, ceremony and reception in the same place, and a fabulous setting and location! I sincerely hope someone I know will have their wedding at Brookshire Gardens so I can enjoy it again as a guest!
