I bought my mare in February 2020. I could not be happier! BQH Fancy and Nice is everything I asked for. Lee and Mriam are awesome. When I went to the ranch I rode 5 horses, narrowed down to 2 and then came back and chose an awesome mare out of a Plumb Dry Mare. Great on trail and great on the cows, witch is exactly what I wanted. I can not tell you how many people comment on what a nice horse she is and she is only 5. Thank you,

I had a really bad experience with Brooks Quarter Horses as well. It started when I purchased a registered 3yo gelding named Tres Bold Badger for $9500 from Leonard Brooks. He was a beautiful horse and a joy to ride. The problem was with his feet. He didn't like them to be touched and it wasn't long before he started kicking any farrier I tried. He didn't just kick straight back either. He would cow kick out to the side. After discussing the situation with Leonard several times he agreed to retrain him if I would send him back to their ranch. So I sent him back for a few weeks. When he returned it didn't take long for him to start kicking again. I even tried having the vet give him a shot of calm me down just before the farrier tried to shoe him. Well even while drooling on himself from the shot he managed to kick the farrier. I had had enough and told Leonard I would be bringing him back for another. We found another but he demanded I pay him an additional $6000 for this new one. At the time he said he couldn't find the new horse Mojo's papers as he came to be named but that he would mail them to me once he found them.I followed up a couple weeks later on Mojo's papers and was told that he was a grade QH and had none. So at that point I was out $15500 for a horse I returned and a grade QH. Mojo worked out just fine but Brooks Quarter Horse did some real dishonest business the likes of which were shocking.Leonard has since passed on and his son Lee now runs the business. All I know is they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. If you do business here get EVERYTHING in writing and don't leave without the papers.I sure Learned my lesson with this nightmare experience.

I learned a long time ago "Let the Buyer Beware". Serious buyers have their own vet, trainers take a look at a horse before purchase. Serious buyers know the difference between an immature horse and a seasoned one. You get what you pay for.Our own experience with Brooks Quarter Horses has been excellent. We were presented with 10 horses to choose from. Brooks wranglers worked each horse, demonstrating its training BEFORE we stepped into the saddle. Once we'd narrowed it down to 2 choices, we were invited to join a Brooks wrangler who took us for a ride around the ranch to familiarize us with each horse. There was never any pressure. THEIR time was OUR time.Yes, I highly recommend Brooks Quarter Horses. We are looking forward to a long relationship with them.

I bought a 5 yr old mare from them 4 yrs ago. She has turned out to be a wonderful horse. They let me keep her there and come for rides as often as I wanted on their property for a month after purchase. When I first brought her home I was lacking in confidence and thought perhaps I should return her. They offered me the opportunity to trade for a nice 4 yr old gelding. I thought about it and decided to keep her. I have not regretted my decision. We have been working with a wonderful trainer and will be trying out ranch riding shows this year.

Months long search for a young (age 3) well bred mare lead us to Brooks from San Diego Ca. We found their ranch online and decide to make the drive with an appointment. They had 10 mares ready for us to see and ultimately rode three that afternoon. Bought a little mare that night and picked her up 25 days later. The whole experience was positive, Felix the trainer was amazing and more than a year and a half later (age 5) she is everything I hoped for! Smart, kind, quick, sound, handy, agile, and just beautiful. We would buy again from Brooks.

I called after I looked at a gelding with their brand that had alot of training on him. He had no history at all or papers. Seemed very unlikely but I fell in love with this horse. When I spoke to Marian at the phone # on website I explained I was looking to see if there was a history and make sure the horse was not stolen. She seemed very cooperative and I sent her the ad and photos. She never returned with any info, instead when the seller, who said she would wait on my decision, the next day, said she sold the horse. Still no word from this breeder, she must hav contacted the seller instead. Obvious there was something being covered up.

Brooks Ranch and the owners LEE and MIRIAM BROOKS have deceived me and my wife on several horses and I will be seeking legal aide to recover my investment. They failed on numerous occasions to keep their word and I warn anyone to be extremely cautious by any horses from them. We never received registration papers and they are giving us the run around... They have a reputation with local vets as well for too much hot breeding and deceptive endorsements on their horses...buyer beware!!!

The horse I purchased did not work out. When I was having problems with the horse, very shortly after our purchase, I asked if I could bring the horse for a day visit to have some help with the horse. They refused to allow me to bring her to the farm.
