Loyalty to Bill's started years ago with the previous owner who maintained and took great care of our precious Bundy clarinet, and continues today with the lovely new couple who took over this awesome little music shop.Expertise in not only the workings of instruments, but they also had someone on-hand with an ear and experience in playing that could assess the sound quality afterwards which made for a more thorough repair. When we dropped it off we were given an estimate of a couple days to fix, but it was ready the very next day. The initial quoted price was very reasonable and the final price was cheaper. Now it plays great and sounds superb!Service was as pleasant as each time before and we enjoyed chatting with the new owners. And even though there are a ton of music shops closer to home, Bill's is the only place we trust to mend this Bundy that has been in our family for decades.

It's unfortunate because all of the music stores (or the 3 that I've visited) here in Stockton are all lacking terribly. I've been a musician for over 20 years. Initially this place gives you nostalgia. You feel like you're back at your old music store as a kid. They've got many of the accessories needed for brass and wind students. He also had some pretty cool harmonicas as well. But, it is as others have stated. He has this attitude that feels like "you don't know what you're talking about, you're not going to purchase anything, so therefore, you need to get out right now." He didn't say those things but that's how it felt. Even when he gave good information about the products and tried to be nice (I can tell that he was trying) it still felt cold. I want to love this place. I feel bad for him simply because most of the mom and pop music stores have been obliterated by big box stores like Sam Ash and Guitar Center. So maybe this is his response to that.

I stopped in with my uncle to get some auxiliary cords for his sound system and met the new owners, Al and Tammy. They were great! They were super accommodating and helpful to my special needs uncle, which I appreciate greatly. The prices are reasonable and their selection is superb. I am very pleased and will definitely come here again!

Left happy just like I did the first time I came in a couple moths ago. My daughter cracked a piece on her saxophone, they were quick and easy.

I usually don't write reviews on anything but food, but I can't help myself on this one. The other reviews here are probably family members, or friends. This was the only place in town that had ceramic fuses for my Peavy Mark IV bass head, after looking everywhere. I was happy about that, but the merchant was rude on the phone, short tempered and plain weird in person. You would think in this economy he could fake being nice to customers. I asked him about a tube pre amp pedal for my setup, and He looked like he was just so annoyed with my question. They have a lot of cool Peavy stuff which I like, but wont go back unless I have to...

Ok so I'll try again to have a review posted. Very intimidating place. Communication was difficult. Guy was mumbling something as he walked to the front. Looked like he needed a bath or shower. But why waste water. We had a few words I thought he was law enforcement. Really bad law enforcement. Glad he didn't shoot me.

I rented a violin for my child for school and it went great. Don provided great customer service, very knowledgeable. And he knew how to measure the right size of violin needed. The first place I tried do not know how.
