A much deserved update for a park that is about as hidden as a park could get within a residential neighborhood. Perhaps that's what gives it such charm. It's not the largest or the fanciest, but it has everything a neighborhood park would need and more and is the preferred go-to for my son because of its play structures. We've stopped in time and again to enjoy the playground, which is filled with local kids on weekends, or eat lunch on a neighboring park bench in the shade beneath some lovely old trees. There's a huge grassy field for running around until you fall, there's a basketball court that is usually occupied by at least one lone future all-star and there is a wading pool that I have yet to see open but is in good functioning order. For those who live nearby, I dare say they are foolish not to take advantage of this resource on a regular basis. I don't live nearby and still do. Bertha, whoever you are, my hat is off to you.

Love love this darling little park with its trees, two being huge sequoia trees. Great playground and there's a little kids wading pool with a giant toadstool waterfall and a lifeguard sitting at the pool's edge. Most of the children are under the age of four, little tots. I'm thankful for the restaurant that didn't have but one table under an umbrella to sit at. We took our lunch and did a search for parks by us on our google maps. And... so happy this little park was close by with plenty of shade, two picnic tables and four benches all in the shade. I wish I had raised my own children in such a neighborhood park!

Great community park ! We came here for a soccer game and loved that the field had a park for our kids to play at during the soccer game and community pool.

I can't believe I've lived this close to this park and didn't know about it!I first found out about this place from an event my son's daycare was holding. They rented out the pool area for the evening. The pool is a wading pool with a mushroom shaped water fountain the kids can play in. My son LOVED it! Thursday's nights during this summer (2015) they have family night where the pool is open from 3 to 7 which is nice given most park pools close at like 4 or 5 which sucks for us working parents that don't get off until 5 and would like to bring out small kids there! So if I having any sort of complaint it would be to please extend pool hours later during the summer to at least 2x a week. The playground was nice too and my son loves to play so this was a double plus!I will be definitely be frequenting this park!

This is a great neighborhood park with a family friendly feel to it. Here are the basics for those who have not been here:-A play structure and swing set aimed at preschool children-Restrooms are open all day.-2 full court basketball courts on asphalt. Pick-up games rarely happen.-The large field is used by the local childrens soccer teams during the summer. The grass and sprinkler system were totally updated in summer 2010 with a grant from the state. The new grass is great now that it is fully grown in.-There is a shady area near the play structure that has a barbaque and several picnic tables. This area can be rented for the day. People often have parties including bounce houses etc.-Perhaps the most notable part of the park is the free wading pool that has a life guard and a waterfall-type water feature shaped like a mushroom that the kids love running through. It is open during summer months. Unfortunately budget cuts reduced the open hours and days in the past two years, but the neighborhood really came together with fundraisers and donations to increase the number of hours and days.Check out the wading pool, it is great! This is a park that is well-loved and I highly recommend it.

One of the best parks in the Sacramento area for little ones. We have been to many parks trying to find the right one for our 1 and 4 year old. This is a great park and I come here twice a week with my children to play. They love the slides, the swings, and best of all the sand. There are two sandy play areas, a soccer field which people bring their dogs and toss balls to when soccer isn't in session, and 2 basketball courts.Sadly the wading pool is being threatened for a shut down unless people donate! Please donate to keep the wading pool open because this is a very unique, clean, and awesome park. I only wish I had the money to live in the direct neighborhood. Nice homes and people in the East Sacramento District.

Yelp, why are you asking me to review a neighborhood park? This is a great little park, I've been coming here since my diaper was dragging in the sand. Now my kids prefer it to McKinley (though, they do like the Lion Fish). We still call it "Bug Park" after the giant metal bug that retired from active duty there years ago. There's always sand toys to play with, playground is in very good repair, it's not crowded, though there's always a few kids there to make friends with and to take up space on the swings so I don't have to spend the entire time pushing. Also, when Pops in the Park is here, it's AWESOME!!Oh, and shaded benched for parents! Hooray!Lots of the sand and wood chips come home with us every time.

I just started coming here with my 2 year old. I love it, and he loves it! The splash pad is only available for smaller kids which I love. And its FREE!!! Lots of shade around the play ground, which has lots of seating. They also have huge swings if you want to get some height! I totally recommend this park to everyone.

Great little park. Park was clean and the splash park is great not a lot of toys but what they have is nice and the pool is only a foot deep so it's great for little kids. You don't have to worry about them an they have a lifeguard
