Bean & Leaf Cafe

My other office is located south of Stockton which I visit once a month. This used to be the closest small biz takeout place I supported for lunch --until how I was treated here. No major issues with the food. I've ordered hot sandwiches (turkey pesto), cold sandwiches (veggie), and the occasional salad (Asian salad), and they're decent for the Central Valley. But the staff? That's another story. One of my biggest pet peeves is when staff calls an order by name and another customer--who clearly doesn't have that name--tries to take it. This happened to me today so after waiting 10 minutes, a customer who had just ordered blocked me from picking up my own food, asking if it was theirs. That's already inconsiderate customer etiquette and I told her "it's not yours"--but here's where the real issue is. The staff person justified it, saying, "Well, you two ordered the same thing." No. Just no. My very brown name was called. My order was ready before hers. Yet somehow, there was still hesitation about whether I should receive my own food because I corrected the customer on the spot. And to all y'all who know, yes, they both were. It's frustrating when this staff member actively enables it instead of reinforcing the simple fact that names exist for a reason. I've seen this kind of passive-aggressive behavior before, and I don't need to spend my money at places where customers who don't look like the staff member aren't treated equally and fairly.I'll give 2 stars - one for the food, but the experience leaves a bad taste in my mouth. If you're looking for takeout where all customers are treated with the same respect, your money is better spent elsewhere.

When I was recommended this place, I went in with pure joy that I was going to find a delicious salad. Decided to grab a coffee and breakfast sandwich as well. Ended up spending $36! I said, screw it and just went on with my day. Breakfast sandwich was very plain something I could've made at home. The eggs had too much pepper and the ham was just a thin slice. The coffee was way too sweet and was made with coffee ice cream, I gave it a try, but honestly, I really did not like it. The salad on the other hand was good. I requested extra lettuce. Was a decent size salad but I don't know about spending over $15 for it. There wasn't much chicken or toppings. I asked for extra chicken and they wanted to charge me an additional three dollars! Insane! I know about inflation people don't worry, I expected to pay a little bit more but I'm sorry I have to complain about the price. It's insane to me that these days a salad cost way more than getting a greasy fattening burger. I wish I could just find somewhere that has healthy food for, decent prices and sizes. I would give the salad about 4 out of 10 the breakfast sandwich a two out of 10 and the coffee a two out of 10. And the only reason I'm giving is because I don't want to say one or zero so I'm being nice :)I will end this review with saying everybody at the location was super nice friendly service. There seem to be a lot of people at this place too so I'm sure it's a really quick place for someone to grab coffee and a breakfast sandwich. This review is just my personal opinion.I would recommend you try it at least once. And give it your own rating.

Everything is prepared fresh upon order and the guest service was great as well. I work close to this cafe, so as a courtesy one of their employees brought my order to the office for me. Kudos to Bean & Leaf Cafe. I'll be in to sit for lunch soon the place has great vibes!

This little cafe was so cute and cozy, and the staff were very welcoming! I enjoyed a Cobb salad with chicken and an iced white chocolate mocha, while my fiancé had the pesto chicken sandwich and Thai tea. Everything was delicious, and I highly recommend trying it.

Bean and Leaf Cafe is the place locals are glad to know and have in their neighborhoods. Inside, they have a corner dedicated to local art and has a cozy, familiar feel, warm and inviting as compared to all those well known chains and what they present. On top, the flavors are better here. All their food and drinks show the care you'd want and hope to find. For example, their triple berry scone is light with a nice hint of sweetness, vs the ones you usually get that are dense and have a finish like a kids breakfast cereal. This is one of the few places that the Mrs will actual have a coffee drink. Again, it's lightly flavored and works well together vs the heavy handed flavors of chain stores. I've generally been treated well by chain store servers who put up with my bad jokes, but Bean and Leaf employees are helpful, friendly and go out of their way to make sure your order was right. They're a cut above.

Husband and I got a the turkey pesto. Service here was attentive, cute little cafe to eat in. Parking is easy to find. I would recommend their hot sandwiches here.

I got an Iced Vanilla Latte with a double shot and a carrot bread here. Loved the carrot bread but not so much the coffee. I can see that this place specializes in their food items so I'm not too surprised but the coffee was just not it. I just didn't enjoy the taste of the coffee they used, it was water, kind of sour, and almost had a smokey bbq taste to it? I couldn't drink more than 3 sips of it. I was disappointed because I was really looking forward to a good coffee for the day. The place was cozy and the people were nice though!

It's a popular place, but they prepare foods as fast as they can! They have THE BEST chai lattes ever...because they make their chai in-house and it's not some gross fake syrup, like most other places. They have great food for breakfast and lunch as well. Salads are delish! Great atmosphere, great vibe, super nice staff that seem to enjoy working together! Highly recommend!!

Everything was pretty decent, just a little overpriced and they take forever to bring the food out. They took over 15 minutes to make a side salad and I just told them to give me a bag of chips instead. Very nice people but they really have to work on getting their food out in a timely manner.

Love coming to the Bean and Leaf, the food is always incredible and the staff is so nice. They have the best egg bagel sandwich in town. Check out the be mine latte they have out for valentines day, it has a bold raspberry flavor.
