BBQ From The Curb

This is the best barbecue food in Manteca! I love the burnt pork belly tips as they come drenched in barbecue sauce! They are absolutely delicious! I like a lot of sauce so these stand out to me. The tri-tip is amazing! I love the texture it, no fat just perfectly medium well meat that has a delicious smoke flavor and is so tender! The brisket is so soft and moist! Not dry like some of the other places, I won't throw shade and name them lol. I bought a meal and the brisket was one of my choices, loved the flavor and it was so soft like butter! I am not a person who likes to eat fat on meat so the fact I ate the fat on the brisket speaks to how good it is! This place gets very busy and they sell out of everything so if you want to make sure you get what you want, place your order online and schedule a pick up time. The line at this place is always long so you know it's good! This business is located in an old ice cream shop so when you see the building from the street you will see a giant ice cream cone next to the sidewalk in a parking lot. It is right next door to a house, please be respectful when parking and do not block the driveway to the house. We saw someone do that when we went there and the owner of the vehicle had to move their car so the owner of the house could pull into their driveway! I also recommend you to take note of the hours and days this business operates as they are unique. Do your tastebuds a favor and try this local small business!

First visit: Food is amazing. Great sandwich with tender brisket, pickles, onions and bbq sauce on a soft Hawaiian style sweet bun. Ribs are pull off the bone tender with a tangy sauce. Service was ok. Here is the issue. Very small place with just a few folks working. It's a to-go only joint (formerly a hotdog stand). The line gets long and they have to stop taking orders to catch up with boxing up your food. Took 30+ minutes to get to window to order with about 15 people in front of me. Then another 5 min or so to get my food. I would encourage folks to order on their website (which I found while standing in line).Ambiance? Well not really any except the wonderful smell of bbq. The line rolls around the outside and with our current 100+ weather they may want to think of adding some shade structures before their customers start passing out in line! To wrap it all up...would I go for the food again? Absolutely!! Would I stand in line? NO! I will order online next time and see how it goes!! Also to note that their hours/days of operation are minimal so check before you go to make sure they are open!! That all said...that was some damn good bbq!! Smoke on!!

Sides were super salty, so were the ribs, brisket was pretty good no complaints on that, service was great they were quick to order and handout. Seasoning is suppose to make the food taste good not just for looks.. overall I would only recommend the brisket and that's all.

Update 3/16/24:The main thing I'm updating is to tell you if you plan to go, go early! The lines have been getting crazy long!

We got there early so the wait wasn't too long. Food was good. The brisket sandwich was great. The chili went great with it on a cold day. They didn't put bbq sauce or pickles or onions on the pulled pork like we asked but I am sure it would have been really good with it. The potato salad was pretty salty but I enjoyed it. All in all I would definitely go back if I'm in the area. Price was good for the amount of food we got

First time trying, found this place from TikTok. I love TikTok, funny ass videos but n e ways, yes, I bought half slab of ribs and brisket for my Niecy. Bomb! Good flavor, you can tell they smoked the brisket, ooo la la. Definitely coming back GO NINERS!

Wow is how I can describe the ribs. Best I ever tasted, ate or devoured. Convenient to the core.. Enjoy your experience .

Tried out this BBQ place that used to be the old Hob Nob hot dog stand. I tried the tri-tip bbq sandwich, cole slaw, and brisket. I wanted to try the pork belly burnt ends, mac & cheese, and pork ribs, but they were all out. We were here at about 2 pm and they were out of half their items and they opened up at 12 pm! The cole slaw wasn't that great. It was dry and tasted like cabbage salsa from a taqueria. On the otherhand, the brisket they gave me to replace the pork ribs, since they were out, was very tasty. The meat was juicy and cooked to perfection. The brisket had a nice crust to it and I only wish I had asked them for bbq sauce. The trip-tip sandwich was very good. Decent amount of meat and the bbq sauce complimented the sandwich.So my only gripes with this place is that the time to wait after the order was very long. There was already a handful of people waiting for their order so I knew I was going to waiting for a bit. You are basically waiting on the curb as the sign says but hopefully when the weather is decent, maybe some chairs and a table could offer a place to sit and eat. Also, half the food on the menu was sold out after just a couple of hours being open. You'll have to show up here right at opening to make sure you get what you want. Overall, a very good bbq place!

The food was underwhelming at best 4/10. It's a nice pit stop if you're hungry and want something to eat. The service was cool and the food was quick; about five minutes. It's literally a curb location and if you're driving too fast, you'll miss it. Because I'm a super foodie, I more than likely won't go back.
