If you're in the area and want a casual stroll with a view check this place out!! The trail is paved. Everyone on the trail was beyond friendly! Hello! Hello! Hello!! We arrived around 4ish on a Sunday. The bathroom at this time were beyond clean! No homeless living or walking along the trail. We felt safe. The view is beautiful.

** The following review reflects my experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. **I would've never discovered this sliver of a park had it not been for an article I read about the $13 million footbridge that was built to extend the San Pablo Bay Regional Trail over the Amtrak rails above the wetlands and into Pinole Shores (review: https://bit.ly/3mVUVcf). It was completed about three years ago, and by default, the architectural addition made this small natural area a central hub for walkers and bicyclists searching for an uninterrupted stretch along this part of the bay. A small patch of greenery with panoramic bay views, it's a nice respite with plenty of birds in constant motion especially if you stroll along the rocky shore. Don't be put off by the sewage plant or the trains that speed by with frequency. Easy for me to say. It's at the end of Tennent Avenue, a straight chute from the Pinole Valley Road exit off 80.RELATED - Exploring this part of Contra Costa County? Here's a collection of places I've visited and reviewed: https://bit.ly/2VyCP18

If you want to get some walking/cardio in while watching a beautiful East Bay sunset, then this is the place. It is one of those trails Hubbers wanted to explore and since we now have a newly-trained-in-walking 6-month-old pup, we thought, "why not." The general part of the trail leads you to the edge of (or pretty close to) the water. There is one particular corner where there are even seats provided to enjoy the scenery. It was pretty dry when we went so our pup, being long haired, was a bit troubled by the dry grass and weed latching onto him. We will one day return one the area gets a bit greener.

They allow animals but you have to clean up after them , they give you bags there to do so. Don't see many animals when I do go but on occasions I do and I enjoy those times. So if you bring your dog here I will more than likely be saying hi to the little cutie if I'm there. Many places to go by the water if there's too many people on one patch of land. You never have to go far to find some more water here. There's a little canal type area that's now drying up!! Has a boat loading dock but it's no longer usable in this area , to be fair I'm not a boat expert but I don't think there's nowhere near enough water ( at least when I was there ) to get a boat going LOL.Always a great time when you go here. It's not much but me and my family used to always go here. Now that one of them is gone it's really a treasure to go here.So much walking space , I just took one of the many paths this time. So many seashells and other beachy stuff along the shore also. Family's always have a bunch of fun here even though there's no swimming allowed. Not many sea animals or anything that wash up thankfully! Means they are doing well :) !So many beautiful seashells and sand is everywhere. There is paved areas to walk on , however not every areas paved. Thanks for reading hope this helps !

This is a hidden gem in Pinole! The area looked crumy, but it is safe with lots of locals going for walks and bike rides with family and dogs. You get to see the view of the water and marsh land, railroads (with some old trains) it's really quaint and cool! There is a beach access too, but it's not a swimming beach, the water is murky and cold because of the marsh. Great spot for photoshoots, wildlife watching, and just overall for some good fresh air. The parking lot is small and it's usually packed, but there are plenty of street parking.

This is a nice park in Pinole just down the street from my house that we have been going to for years. The only negative is that this park is next the sewer treatment plant which sometimes smells bad. A few weeks ago they opened up the newly constructed trail/bridge that you can walk, run or bike on all the way to Pinole Shores Park. I am definitely a fan. Also there are some nice sunsets from this park especially in the fall. I highly recommend this park.

You have to cross the very-very active UP freight and Amtrak Capitol Corridor train-tracks to reach this small, two-acre park at the edge of the Bay. The Bay Trail from Hercules also ends here.At low-tide fishermen walk out into the bay to catch sturgeon and they also fish from the shoreline. There is an attractive grassy area; there are a few picnic tables and barbecue stations. There is also access to a small sandy beach and a view of the marshland at the estuary as well as clear views of the bay and the hills on the opposite shore. This park is truly stunning at sunset, and I always rush here with my camera if it appears there's going to be a colorful sunset.

The paved 3 mile trail that runs along the water towards Richmond makes this a great place to enjoy the outdoors and a good place for a run since there's a nice breeze and great views.

Usually a Dirty, unkept area around Pinole's stinky/poop Waste Water Treatment Plant, near where the 4th July Fireworks Show was to take-place but was cancelled the past 2 yrs in a row costing City Taxpayers over $100K thx to both City of Pinole's bad Politics & fiscally irresponsible Mayor & City Council Vincent Salimi, Andrew Murphy, Anthony Tave & Cameron Sasai!!!
