Love taking the pups to this park. As mentioned in the other reviews, this park does have 3 separate areas for dogs of all sizes. Large dogs, small dogs and a space to train your dogs. We typically go to all three areas and truly enjoy the spaces. I have two smaller sized dogs and they get so excited coming to the park. Several of the owners are very friendly, clean up after their dogs and seem to also keep coming back. The park does get pretty muddy during rain seasons due to the lack of grass in some areas but overall we let the dogs enjoy it all either way. There are sidewalks for walking along the edges. There are benches to sit on but just be mindful this is where all the dogs lift their legs and do their business. The gates are a little tricky to open but definitely not child proof. Enjoy!

Barkleyville Dog Park has a lot of things going for it. It's separated into three different zones: a big dog area, a little dog area, and an agility area for dogs of any size. It also has one of the most secure gate systems I've seen. To get into the big dog area, you have to pass through THREE gates, making dog escapes very rare occurrences. There are also dog watering stations available. Grassy areas with benches under some of the trees make it nice to sit and watch your doggo get his dog on with other dogs. And the poop bag dispensers have always been stocked when I've been there.Barkleyville, however, has problems, too. The big dog area is too small for the amount of use it gets, and a lot of the area that used to be grass is now bare dirt, unless it's been wet, in which case it's mud. The parking lot is small. And there's always (ALWAYS!) a lot of dog poop that has not been cleaned up by dog owners.I will say, though, that the name is kind of clever. That's far better than a generic "[city name] Dog Park"!

Great location for the dog park and love it has a gate for the little dogs , medium dogs, and then big dogs. But the place hasn't been cleaned in some time and it shows. It's a nice park just needs some help before it's really run down.

I have been bringing my dog to this park when we are in the area for years. The park itself is lovely. It has a small dog and large dog area and both are well appointed. It also has a separate area with agility items. Parking is easy unless the park is packed, which is rare. There is grass for the dogs, plenty of water and a cement walkway in the small dog area. The issue is the people. Normally I don't take off stars for the patrons because the park itself is open to everyone. However, I cannot remember a time, in my dozens of stops here, where there was not SOME type of issue. I can almost guarantee that if you are here long enough, someone will bring their large dog into the small dog area because they also have a small dog with them and people will get angry, or there will be a dog fight in the large dog area, or people will sit on the benches and watch their dog poop and not clean it up, or there will be a verbal altercation between patrons, or- new one on my last visit - a woman will bring her 3 very small grandchildren with their dinner and try to sit in ALL 3 dog areas before getting angry that the dogs are bothering them and trying to get their food, then scream at everyone while going to their car to eat and leaving their dog in the park. Honestly, it's Stockton, so..... Anyway, there is a bench, grass, water and my dog likes it so I will keep coming back as long as it's open. OH and I always bring my own bags, but this is one of the few parks that always seems stocked in case you forget yours so it's definitely worth a stop.

BarkleyVille Dog Park is a nice dog park that I visited with my husband and our little girl dog 2 weeks ago. We came on a Friday afternoon, around 3:15 pm. Unfortunately no one was around so we just explored this park ourselves. This park has 3 separate gated areas. One is for the small dog park (dogs in this part of the park can be no more than 25 lbs), another side is for large dogs and lastly is an agility area. The small dog park definitely has the cute things on their side of the park like these large dog collars with tags that have quotes on them (check out my fellow Yelp member photos) and cute bone benches that are made of concrete. The large dog park side doesn't have anything like that in their area. I love the agility course that was set up and enjoyed trying to get my dog to go up on the ramps and jump through the different squares (which she would only do for treats). One thing to make mention is that in both the small and big dog side of the park, there is grass. But in the agility course area, it is dirt. When walking through the small dog park side, part of the grass was really wet and muddy (so just be careful where you walk in case you happen to find yourself on this side of the park). Poop bag dispensers are available in the park, along with a pooper scooper. There is also a fountain for both humans and dogs in case they need to hydrate (although I would recommend you bring your own water for your pup because I don't know how clean the fountain for dogs is). I think this is a really nice dog park and wished one like this was closer by me. If I lived in the area, I would probably be a regular.

It's a mixed bag. I just discovered this dog park a few weeks ago. There are times I go, and there are well-behaved dogs, with kind owners as far as the eye can see. While at other times, it's mounds of feces neglected by owners, dogs with obesity problems, missing fur, and dogs who are visibly sick. It's common to witness dogs who are slightly aggressive, while their handlers do nothing. Just as common are small dogs in the large dog area. Don't let your large dogs get close, because you'll get side-eyed by the owner. But, my own dog has made some friends, so what can I do?

This place is great for what it is. I wish the city would do something about the drainage problems, so I don't have to give my muddy dog a bath after leaving, but it is what it is. It's a great place to let my dog socialize and just be a dog outside with other dogs Beware! I know its out of most people controls, but some dogs really should be better trained before socializing them at the dog park. If your dog is fighting at the dog park maybe he shouldn't come to the park just yet

Great park for dogs to interact and socialize with each other. My puppy is always anxious to play with other furbabies. The park provide poopy bags, so don't forget to clean up your own furbabies. :) There is also a great trail near by. I bet those little paws would appreciate the walk.
