Interesting and new sights for me. Paved path lasts for less than a mile. It was a warm sunny Sunday in January, and there was a lot of people out on the paved portion. Past that on the gravel there were less and less people the further you went. A few bikers. No restrooms at the parking area or on the path. A few benches were only in the 100 yards from the parking lot. Some people found some shade along the water and were lounging on a blanket. The entire trail is exposed, no shade. People on the trail were friendly and I found it an enjoyable out and back walk.

It's fitting that this is my first review of 2021 as I just ran a 2021 New Years Day 5k here. This area is BEAUTIFUL and so well maintained. You can run out and back for a couple of miles. Most of the trail is gravel/unpaved. You can watch boats in the canal - there are lots of kayaks and fishermen. There is ample parking and I have never seen the parking lot completely full, even on the weekend. There is a boat loading for small boats like kayaks right by the parking lot. I have lived here for awhile and I can't believe I just visited this area for the first time! I will be walking and running here a lot to make up for lost time!

This is a great trail! I've been here twice already, and the first time I saw a fox and a bobcat, which I hadn't seen before! The parking is easy and you can also have a picnic by the canal and go fishing and kayaking. The trail is great for dogs too, but if it's too hot and sunny might not be the best as there's no shade.

This recreational spot is the perfect day spot for a walk..... or even boat access. Designated paths, FREE parking, quiet area with views of the water. During the day, it's pretty calm. There is a little bit of homeless population but no one seemed aggressive or asking for a hand-out. I'd rate this as a low-level trail where you can get a brisk stroll w/o the feeling of walking for miles. Or better yet, bring yo' technology and count steps as you enjoy nature! Either way, it's a win-win of views and quiet solitude.

Good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Sacramento. Just a short drive over the Tower Bridge and you're there. It's right off of Jefferson blvd. The thing I like best about this place is it's free. Parking is free, launching your small Jon boats, kayaks, canoes and SUP boards are all free. Also MTN bike trails for days! You can take it along the DWC all the way down to Prospect slough (good fishing). You can't say no to that. Just remember to carry all your trash in and out. Let's do our part and keep the place clean so everyone can enjoy it!

Really cool location where people can fish and swim. Like most places it would be nice if people picked up their trash and there are trash cans by the parking lot. You can get some amazing photos around sunset.

Very nice small area to drop in to canoe or fish. Clean water and warm too. Nice shade under the trees. We didn't get to the actual barge area given there was a homeless man sleeping on the path but other than that it's really nice. Surprisingly.
