Bannon creek parkway is a decent park with bridges, walkway path around most of it. Has a little kids playground, a lot of benches to take a rest and watch some scenery. They have a few bridges to connect to the main area which has a huge patio with alot of tables for a picnic or party, and 2 grills (but they are locked unless you call to reserve the area.) Then as you walk some more around the creek you will find some more benches to rest and a spot for some horseshoes to play, but don't forget to bring your own, but poles are setup to start a game right away. They do have some public water fountains around some for dogs too. Plenty of garbage cans but no restrooms or port o potties. So make sure you come on a empty blatter or if you leave in either direction on W. El Camino you will be only a few lights from businesses to relieve your self. I wouldn't recommend doing it there for 2 reasons, 1 its illegal and dont need a fine, 2 they have sign that say poison oak in a location, so a fine plus itchy areas equals you a lot of $$ for medical stuff and Lawyers ..They do have a dog park located here too in a fenced area if you have a dog or 2, or more.Plenty of parking around the park and it's free. So for a quick summary recap: good place for a party, dog walking, playing with the kids, play some horseshoes, maybe soccer or a football game got plenty of grass area to play something. And the creek and lots of trees, some are easily climable amd some have birds and other animals to watch.

Do no recommend the dog park. Sketchy to walk to, yeah you gotta walk a bit to it. On top of that it's pretty small and muddy. Also no separation, so if you have a big dog and people are inside with small dogs it's like a conflict waiting to start depending on the owners. Just in general looks abandoned, trash/clothes around, some tents set up not super close but around.

I reserved the barn picnic area for a baby shower. It was around $70 and has no bathrooms. I rented a portable potty and it was delivered close to the picnic area. I was most impressed by how well the Sacramento Parks and recreation maintained the area. There was a party the prior day and when I arrived everything was clean, garbages freshly changed, and no trash around the barn. It turned out to be great for photos. It's a perfect place for a BBQ or picnic style gathering. Great large counter space to utilize by the built in BBQ's. There are sporadic homeless travelers, which creates a great opportunity to feed the hungry with leftovers.
