Limit on stripers and three-quarter limit on rockfish on a half-day trip. Captain Craig and deckhand Jake met our trip wonderful. Had such a good time. I booked a private charger for myself and my wife. Hoping to get halibut.

A great experience: Captain Craig does it all: he knows where the fish are, he's easy to communicate with and he's dedicated. His deckhand Jake is a total pro who sees to all your needs. We caught our limit on striped bass and large rockfish in the Bay and out beyond the GG Bridge. I took my grandson, 14, and he caught 15-+ fish. Highly recommended: you know you are in good hands start to finish.

My boyfriend surprised me for my birthday present with a half-day charter fishing trip. It was an amazing experience (my first on any type of fishing boat) and I am so happy that it happened. Although I didn't do any of the initial setup since it was a surprise, my boyfriend told me afterwards that Captain Craig was very responsive and super helpful with getting all of the details set up in the days leading up to the event. His boat is also probably the best value among all of the similar charter boat options in the area - at $140 per person for a half-day charter, the Argo was $40 cheaper per person than a lot of the other boats. We arrived at 6:30am on a Tuesday morning. To our surprise, there were no other guests on the boat that day, so we had a private experience. Captain Craig and his deckhand Will were very friendly, and took the time to explain charter fishing (as a complete newbie, I had no idea what it was) and how to fish. Over the course of the next 5 hours, he took us to several spots around the Bay, including under the Golden Gate Bridge with gorgeous views of SF and the surrounding areas. We caught over 20 fish and the whole experience was very smooth, even for someone with literally zero experience fishing. Afterwards, Will filleted all of our fish for us so we had fresh fish to take home and eat. On our way back into the pier, a hungry seal spotted our boat and followed us, and we fed him some of the fish skins. Everyone, including the seal, was very happy. For parking, Craig recommended a nearby garage where you can leave your car for the entire time for only $15. Remember to buy a fishing license online beforehand and to bring cash to tip!

We had our third trip out on the Argo today and did our first try for Salmon. All I can say is the fish were huge! We ended the day with four fish that steaked out to over 40 pounds of the pinkest firmest steaks you can imagine! Craig knows where to go and how to fish. I highly recommend that you book with the Argo for some great memories out on the bay. Thanks guys we recommend you to everyoneAnd will book again!

craig and his deckhand jay were awesome! this was my first time fishing on a boat. i asked craig if we could try to catch some salmon. it was pretty late in the season and we had no bites for a long time, maybe an hour or two. eventually we caught 2 salmon! craig thought we might be getting bored, so he took us to a different area to catch rockfish for a bit. at the end we asked to go back to salmon fishing, and we got lucky and caught a third.despite most of us having no fishing experience, jay taught us enough of the basics that we were able to catch some fish. i was probably the worst at it but he was very patient.i did almost the entire booking process over email, and craig was very helpful and responsive despite me changing the dates a few times and not knowing how many of us there would be.i'm not sure if i would do this again because i was very nauseous for most of the trip (despite taking dramamine), but if i did i would definitely go with Argo!PS: remember to bring cash to tip the deckhand

Chartered a fishing trip with Capt. Craig last month for a half-day halibut fishing trip after reading all the rave reviews on Yelp. I contacted Craig by email and was pleasantly surprised when I got a response very quickly after at around 10:30pm. The Argo is docked out of Pier 39, and the boat took off shortly after 6am. Being left-handed, I brought my own reel since I cannot for the life of me, reel in the line properly with my right hand. Craig was very accommodating and help provide me with a rod and a leader that I could use with my reel. For everyone else either right-handed or use to reeling in with their right hand, Craig includes the use of gear, tackle, and live bait (when available) in the price of the charter. Cost of a half-day trip is $725, and $1050 for a full-day. A $200, non-refundable deposit is required ahead of time, and the rest of the cost is paid on the day of the trip. Before leaving dock, Capt. Craig actually gave us the option of either heading out past the Gate for bigger fish or staying in the bay with a better guarantee of (albeit smaller) fish. Although we initially chose to head out of the bay, after about 30mins of not getting a single bite, Craig graciously accommodated us as we opted to head back in and try fishing in the bay instead. Speaking with Capt. Craig for a bit, it turns out he was a outdoor reporter for KRON-TV and his wife is a U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliarist. Throughout the trip, despite dealing with our group's general lack of experience and mistakes, Craig was the model of patience and kindness as he kindly explained to everyone the proper way to fish and did not get upset when any of us got a birds nest in our reel or got too excited and forgot to do something when we got a bite. Although we only wound up getting a shaker halibut the entire trip, it turned out the stripers were actively biting and we wound up with a cooler full of striped bass for all the guests aboard the ship. Boat is a 33' and limits out at 6 people, with plenty of room for everyone to move around and fish. If you park at the garage directly across from the pier on the weekend, Craig can also provide validation for your parking, which provides a SUBSTANTIAL discount to your all-day parking rate. I would definitely recommend Capt. Craig for anyone looking to charter a more personable fishing experience out of SF!

My family and I added this fishing trip to our already planned trip to San Francisco and it did not disappoint! Being from Central Maine it was a huge relief to have a friendly team to welcome us on the water. Captain Craig was very knowledgeable, and dedicated to ensuring we had a safe and once in a lifetime experience fishing on the bay. His helper Jake was extremely attentive to us and very patient with our 6-year-old so that he could keep up with everyone else. We spent 6 hours on the bay catching countless fish, and then even a leopard shark and sting ray! All-in-all a world class experience with world class service! If your family loves fishing and being on the ocean, I highly recommend this highly skilled duo! - Erica Wheeler (Skowhegan, Maine)

It was a rainy day, Captain Craig and deckhand Jake worked hard to find us fish (I took my 12yo son)! I would book this fishing trip over and over...even in the rain! Captain Craig has great customer service, he's easy to get a hold of and very friendly. I would highly recommend this fishing boat; you will not be disappointed! THANK YOU Craig!

What an amazing day of fishing adventure with Craig and the Argo Crew! At six years old, my son is an avid fishermen. LOL as funny as it sounds, fishing truly is his world and he topped hi PB (personal best today. He was able to pull in two striped bass and see halibut, sharks, rays, and a monster sea lion "Fatty Patty"! I would highly recommend this charter to anyone who lives fishing and even people who just want a new experience.
