Apex Martial Arts Academy

My daughter wanted to learn martial arts, and a great friend referred me to Apex Martial Arts in Stockton. The staff are extremely friendly and work with my daughter. She is now going for her yellow belt and already feeling more confident than when she first started. Her positivity, strength, and courage level have reached a higher level. She looks forward to class every week and meets new friends. These groups of students support one another and teach each other to grow. With patient instructors and a convenient location, AMAA is an excellent choice for children's hapkido. My son has increased his focus, balance, and confidence all of which I've seen him apply to soccer and school first hand. I'd recommend it to any parent.

My son attended for just over a year. We only left because we moved out of state. The instructors are amazing!!! Ma'am and Sir are kind people and were great to work with! I love the family atmosphere there. Not only do the kids learn martial art techniques, but they also learn important life skills that help them in all aspects of daily life. My son and I were very happy there.

My kids are going on their second month here and they love it! There are no contracts and a discount if you have multiple children. I love that the teachers are young adults themselves because they really seem to connect with the kids. I also love that it never seems like it's too many kids in a group per teacher. They are always doing something and taught to be super respectful. When my boys were little I tried other places in Stockton and I can definitely tell right away that apex is much more of a fit for my boys. So glad I found it. Thanks to everyone who makes apex amazing!

Master Tan is soooo great with children. He teaches them discipline but also knows when it's time to cajole or play with the kids as well. I went and had my son try out nearly all of the martial arts dojos in Stockton and this was the best. Here at Stockton Kuk Sool Hapkido, my son not only enjoys himself but actually does learn a lot. Master Tan teaches them how to speak bits of Korean, how to behave, and also martial arts and other life lessons. The other martial arts places in Stockton say that they do that, but when you observe them, they don't actually practice what they preach. At another dojo (Discovery) the children played games for 20 minutes and were taught by young teenagers who didn't even seem interested in what they were doing for the other ten minutes, while the adult classes were shown what to do but never corrected in their actions so half of them were doing it all without form or lazily, yet they all had high colored belts. It's much better at Kuk Sool where the students are watched and taught properly.Having done martial arts throughout high school, I have high standards in what I expect from a dojo and Stockton Kuk Sool Hapkido definitely goes above and beyond. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a school for your child where they actually learn something and not just a goof-around class.

I had been training here since Octobdr of 2014 and I enjoyed it very much. The instructor alwaus oushed me and when I felt I was getting good there was always something new to learn. I take the adult class, but I can see as I'm leaving that the younger students have a great bond with eachother. Not sure what that McDojo reviewer saw, but from these 9 months if training I have been able to go to a Tae Kwon Do Dojang and a Judo Dojo and hold my own at least. I guess that's not "real world," but it should speak to effective techniques.

My son had been attending Stockton Kuk Sool Hapkido for 2 months and he is learning so much and gaining much needed confidence. His Sir is so patient with the students and encouraging when they are making progress. Great school, would recommend to ask ages.

The demo team works one on one with the kids making sure they are learning... I love the positivity in this place they allow the kids an opportunity to speak about their day prior to starting as well as ensure techniques and form are done correct... they work at your childs pace ... I recommend Apex to anyone and everyone looking for a great place to learn ...and the price is really good too
