Andrew's Swim School

I've been taking my son to Andrew for about 4 or 5 years. My son has some extra challenges and was having a terrible time with most of the adults who were hired to work with him. But Andrew was totally different. He believed in my son and taught my son to believe in himself. The swimming skills were fantastic, but it was really the time with Mr. Andrew that made all the difference. He has a patience that so few teachers have. I highly recommend him!

Andrew is the most amazing swim instructor, his patience and techniques had our four year old swimming all on her own by the end of just three weeks with two lessons per week. His safety first philosophy is very reassuring and my daughter just loved him. I am so thankful that I was referred to him and highly recommend him!!Update: We have had another, and she began swim lessons at 6 months old. He is teaching her to roll on to her back once in the water and now she is older she is making her way to the step as soon as she hits the water. Water safety is invaluable and I cannot express enough to Andrew our appreciation.

I am so thankful to have found Andrew's Swim School! My 5 and 2 year old took lessons this summer and it was worth every penny. My 5 year old was on her third year of lessons and was still scared to put her head under water. After three weeks with Mr. Andrew she was swimming like a fish and I am confident that if she were to accidentally fall into a pool she would be able to safely get out. Mr. Andrew was incredibly patient and kind with my two year old even after he spent probably half the lessons saying "no" or "I'm done!" or flat out crying. By the end of the three weeks he was no longer afraid to get in and was even able to go under water and retrieve some rings. It's been several weeks since our lessons ended and they still talk about swimming with Mr. Andrew. I've already signed them both up for Summer 2021 lessons. Mr. Andrew does book out early so hurry and get your name on the list!

In only three weeks of lessons, our four year-old was swimming without aid from swimmies or a pool noodle, diving for rings, and jumping in without fear. Previous to this, we tried for more than two years to help him learn to swim via group lessons. Andrew is magical - he instills both confidence and calm in his students, and the results are transformative.

We found out about Andrew from other moms at our school. I called and he was booked for the 2013 summer season. He informed me that he opens his books the summer before and it fills up quickly. He had one spot available for both my children to get lessons back to back (20mins each). He was very nice over the phone. We came to our first scheduled private session. $130 for 2xs a week. My daughter & son had so much fun and by their second lesson were swimming half way across his pool...yay! They were swimming! Its like watching your children walk. I was very excited. Clean pool and he is very professional but keeps the children's attention. My kids can't wait to go back.

There is a reason this guy is booked a year in advance. He is a great instructor and the location is super convenient. No walking through crowded gyms or locker rooms. Just straight to the private pool for your lesson. Super simple, relaxed and great. It feels a little pricey at first, but your kid progresses so much quicker than with a group class. He also taught my 6 year old about general water safety. I found this to be so valuable. He taught her things it had never occurred to me to talk to her about in regards to boating and pool safety.

Andrew is to swimming, as Mr.Miyagi is to Karate! He just has a gift when it comes to teaching kids how to swim. I have taken my son twice in the past to the City of Sac's Park and Rec swim lessons and he didn't learn a thing. Please don't waste your time on group lessons because it is a waste of not only your valuable time, but also your money. Instead, I would recommend Andrew's swim school. The lessons are one on one and Andrew and his wife make you feel welcome and comfortable. I've seen Andrew teach children of all ages. & My son was 13! Andrew taught him in July and he was snorkeling in Hawaii by August! So no need to look further! Thanks again Andrew

Mr. Andrew has made swimming fun for my son. Mr. Andrew's classical "circles and kickers and boat" has helped my son tremendously. The best swimming instructor ever!

Highly recommended and effective. My 4 year old started swim lessons with Mr. Andrew last summer at 3. Since then, my son has been confident in swimming without a life vest in our own pool. This summer session Mr. Andrew has helped him improve his swim technique dramatically. I have already signed up for next year's session with Mr. Andrew. My son says, "He loves Mr Andrew!"

Our son is a year and a half. He loves the water and we wanted to start him out with swim as soon as possible. We've had 3 lessons with Andrew so far and our son is already learning how to roll over on to his back to get his breath. Andrew is awesome, he allows me to get in to pool and teaches me as much as he teaches my son. We hope to continue swim lessons with Andrew for as long as our son needs it.
