Slow river. Strong wind. Too much paddling for us in our 60s. Exhausted. One of their employees helped us on the river. Thank god.

Can I give you guys more than 5 stars??? My second time here and still loving the vibe and the service. Just gotta make sure your whole party/group is there with signed waivers. Plan your parking early. It's best to drop your group off at the rental then park your car back at River Bend if you're staying around afterwards. That's what we did. We aren't paying $10 for the shuttle but Uber with your other drivers is worth it.Suitable for 5 years and up. Over this weekend we had a raft full of elementary kids 5 and older and it was their first rodeo. As soon as we bust out the water guns, it was over for everyone. Some of the girls even entertained themselves by singing on the raft while we steadily drifted. Definitely my family wants to try a more extreme excursion with rapids but not roaring rapids. lol Bringing our snack and drinks to share is a great idea but having to stop to use the potty for the girls was not easy, exception of the boys. I would like to make a suggestion though, the life vests should be thoroughly cleaned after each use. The first time I used it, I had a bad soil smell and it gave me a rash so this time I came in a rash guard. The weather in the last weeks of August is a hit or miss. We ran into some sprinkles and clouds then it got warm after 3pm.This is definitely an excursion you wanna try before heading to the big boy stuff. It's chill like a lazy river.

I can't believe I lived in Sacramento for 20+ years (granted, it was from the years of 8 to 18) and NEVER went white-water rafting. Now being in my 30s, it was time. Came here with a group of friends. Got a 12-person raft for 8 of us or something like that. My friend was the main coordinator so I didn't deal too much with the booking side, but it seemed smooth.Parking here is kind of a nightmare (though they have a pricey shuttle) but the key is to arrive early, especially because it gets super hot in the middle of the day. The whole journey takes a few hours, as fast or slow as you want to go. Love that the American River is pretty chill. Great vibes overall. A little too much sun exposure for me but super fun!

This the most outdoor fun I've had in awhile, who knew that lazy river rafting would be so great?!? I've never been rafting so I don't have much to compare it to but I can say that this is fun activity for family and friends of all ages. I was ill prepared. The only thing I wish I had was a water gun, a music speaker and snacks. We had a great time! The service is good and well organized.

This place was super fun. Prior to arriving, I called with a few questions and was well informed by the helpful attendant. My friends and I got a 10 person raft and is very affordable if y'all split up the cost. They explained everything we needed to know and what was expected and it wasn't too long before we hit the water. The whole trip lasted 2-3 hours and everyone on the river was so polite and funny. We had a couple water fights with a few other rafts. The river was pretty and the sights to behold. The water was definitely cold as to be expected, but it balanced out with the scorching sun. There are many places to dock and have picnics and the rapids are very beginner friendly. Definitely would recommend to locals and visitors alike.

Really nice raft rentals! My group reserved a 6 and 10 person raft, which fit all of us with a lot of extra room, and 2 coolers with a few dry bags (12 people in total). Process of reserving and checking in are super easy. They offer raft deliveries for a small fee so that we didn't need to carry the raft to the river. There's also a shuttle service for an additional fee so that we can get back to our cars at the end of the river. The staff are really friendly and accommodating! I always have so much fun renting from them.

Believe it or not I just went rafting for the first time this past Saturday! If you are a newb like me, here are some tips:- Bring water, drinks, and snacks (and a trash bag). If you don't plan to paddle much, it will take you at least five hours. - Bring lots of sunscreen and keep reapplying. It doesn't feel hot when you're out there being splashed, so you will get burned without it. - Wear water shoes or sandals with straps. You have to walk the raft to the water and the rocks can be slippery and painful. - Try to stay in the middle of the river so you don't run into the tree branches on the side. - Be responsible! Water levels were very low when we went and there weren't many currents, but if you go another time of year it may be more dangerous. Four of us girls rented the raft for 6 people and thought that was the right size. The four person raft seemed small. Parking is $10 per car and the shuttle bus is $10 a person. You have to wear a mask on the shuttle.

Such a great rafting spot in Sacramento. Check in was easy, staff was friendly and we really enjoyed ourselves out on the lake. The raft was heavy to carry down to the lake but the trip was not that bad. Our raft was missing a handle so it made it a little difficult to carry. Once we had it in the water we had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend them.

American River Raft Rentals is amazing, it's no small wonder they have been in business for 50 years! Having been a long time customer, I've noted they just keep getting better. With so many options including the various sizes of rafts, to paddle boards, kayaks and tubes, I keep coming back. Whereas I typically reserve in advance, there have been times that the spontaneous urge to hit the water is so strong that I swing by unannounced and rent a boat - I've been fortunate in that they have always been able to accommodate me. I'm already looking forward to my next float along the American River Parkway!
