As soon as you step through those doors, there is a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts a smile on your face. And if it doesn't, Julio, the resident jokester behind the register, will make sure to crack a few jokes!- the nugget ice is why I come here! Just give them a heads up, and they'll have those 20-pound bags of icy goodness waiting for you at the counter.- their house-made michelada mix is an absolute game-changer. Pair it with their mango chamoy, and thank me later.- they have all kinds of pre-gaming snacks and tri-tip sandwiches!Stop by this little gem of a market asap!

Finally got the chance to come here I end up getting tri tip and a asada burritos. Nice little spot if you're in the area looking for lunch or looking for some meat. They have fresh meat to bbq and meat package. Service was good nice and friendly. Store front was clean, going to have to come back and try their meat to bbq.

Came into this store when I was on a crazy lady rampage looking for a piñata for my daughters birthday. So my mom & I literally stopped at like 20 Mexican stores in Stockton. This one didn't have piñatas. But it was the cutest small lil mom & pop store. It's in a questionable neighborhood.. but the old man at register was the owner and so sweet! He welcome us in. They have meat packs which I thought was cool! All their meat was super fresh!!!! I mean you'd think they butcher the poor animals in the back. The meat was that fresh looking! They carry alpine hot links! Now their prices are a little high... but they gotta get it how they live! A business is a business. I'd rather support this business than a fucking big corporation like Walmart or Safeway! On the way out I noticed they have fresh bollis Mexican ice cream and I had been craving a LEMON ICE CREAM for hella long now and he was kind enough to let me take one for free! Even gave me napkins and I also purchased a chicken salad and he asked if I needed a spoon to eat now. The sweetest old man ever! Also on the way out he told me how they serve HOT FOOD! I walked over to the hot food counter and to my surprise! TRI TIP SANDWICHES!! Rib plates, chicken, burritos, etc!It smelled like heaven. Since I already bought chicken salad I took a rain check. But if I ever find myself on this side of the tracks I'm definitely coming in for a hot plate of something!!

Love coming here for their bbq plates. My personal favorite is their tri tip and chorizo. Homemade bbq and green salsa are a must have. Friendly owners.

The tri tip and Chicken sandwiches are great but I didn't realize what a cool market this place is with so many groceries and different types of ceviches, salsas, and salads. Everything is made fresh

I tried to keep this place under wraps out of my own selfish desire not to blow up Stocktons greatest hidden gem , but I can't hold it in any longer. The love is too real.I've been frequenting Alegria Market for some time now, at one point I was going for lunch 4x a week. To say obsessed was an understatement . Every menu item I've had has been masterfully crafted. Smoked Tri tip sandwiches with lettuce , tomato , red onion , mayo, mustard . They have bbq chicken as well as chorizo (no pork on my fork tho ) . They have a creation called "The Manwich" which features all 3 meats on a single sandwich. All of the Sandos have a hefty portion of meat on them.Usually I'll grab a tri tip plate with just rice because the beans have lard in them. Every order comes with bread or tortillas , I grab tortillas and make tacos. They'll give you a side of bbq sauce and salsa as well. I'm always satiated and happy after my meal. Don't want bbq? They have a full deli counter of fresh ceviche, shrimp cocktail, aguachiles(), chicken salad () which they give tapatio and a side of chips. Also a bunch of fresh guacamole and salsas prepared fresh daily. It really doesn't get any better. Apparently they have pupusas as well?! And they're a meat market so a huge selection of fresh meats to take home and bbq for the football Sundays and family gatherings . You can't go wrong coming here I promise.It's not just the fire food , but the father/son duo, as well as the amazing and helpful employees that run this neighborhood staple . Julio greeted me with kindness the very first moment I walked in, and we've been G ever since. The prices are BEYOND reasonable. You'll fill your stomach without breaking your budget .

Fantastic service, I forgot the name of the guy at the front counter but he was great at informing me of what the store had when I came for the first time. The sandwich is pretty basic but the meat quality is good, and the pupusa is solid. The store has a lot to offer as far as meat and other Mexican options. I also tried the cactus salad which was good. Thanks guys

Stopped in today and got the manwhich. It's been awhile and still great food and great people.

I wanna kick myself for not coming here sooner. Especially for knowing the owner as long as I have! I picked up a dozen pork tamales, rice and beans early this morning. Hot and ready to go. Doesn't get any fresher than that! The tamales were fat and tasty, the rice reminded me of my grandpa's and these are by far my top 3 favorite frijoles in Stockton!! I had both red and green salsitas. Both delicious with right amount of spicy (in my opinion). The store is clean, NEAT and well stocked. The owner is friendly and kind. Thank you Julio for loading the food in my car!!! Quality food and excellent service!!
