Akitaca Crab

OMG! Went there to celebrate my daughter's birthday with my wife. We started with oysters on the 1/2 shell & onion rings, then ordered the bucket with shrimp, king crab legs and sausage with rice & hush puppies on the side. Not only was our waitress super sweet but also gave suggestions (we had never gone to this type of restaurant before). We ordered cocktails and one was enough- bartender is a heavy pour! The food came out hot and smelled delicious. We opted to have the mild house flavoring which gave it a slightly smoky heat and the fire sauce in the side. Both sauces did not disappoint. We will be back!

Walking in place was nice. We were seated. Party of 12. No one came to take orders for drinks or tell about menu. Finally the bar tender came and took our drink orders. He acted like we were a problem being a large group. Said only 2 checks can be done. One person ordered a mojito. We got our drinks and the mojito never showed up. I asked if the music could be turned down, very hard to have a conversation with our group. The bar tender said NO, it was set and to "party more", I didn't come to party came to enjoy seafood. So, no won't come back when I can't have a conversation with my own party. We finally after 45 min got our food ordered and then waited almost 50 min to get food. 10 of us got our dinners. 2 sat and waited . The waiter asked 3 times what they ordered. Would leave and come back again and ask. One guy got his food and my husband didn't and the waiter had to ask a fourth time what he ordered. He ordered a fried shrimp basket, not hard to make with fries. People came and left from eating after we got there and left before us. My husband got his dinner when we were all done eating. The table is sticky and so is the floor. The food was really good. Will not come back due to the service. Getting together with friends when you can't have a conversation is not fun. Overall, very disappointed with the service and that made my decision not to be back. Could be a great place if service was better and music not so loud. Hope owner reads these reviews.

To start with this review for 12/22/2024 the guy assigned to talk to people in the bar gave us a very rude attitude . He makes you feel like he doesn't wanna be there. We have a party of 12 and all of us gave a bad review on customer service because of this experience waiting for your food for an hour and waiter constantly asking for your order and still waiting. Overall bad customers service and loud music but to be fair the food is really good.

I really wanted to like this place based on others' reviews, but unfortunately, it didn't hit the spot for me. The location is easy to spot and has access to a lot of parking. The hostess/cashier was available at the desk when you entered. He was very nice and professional. The food, however, was not what I had expected. I ordered shrimp without head, mussels, sausage, bread-bowl clam chowder, rice, and garlic noodles. The garlic noodles were probably the best thing, and the Cajun fries tasted good. Everything else was mediocre. I ordered two different sauces: lemon pepper and Cajun sauce for one bag, then the house special for the other. There was no difference at all. The house special had no hint of garlic and no visible pieces of garlic like other seafood boil locations. The clam chowder was also nothing special. Although the bread bowl itself was soft and the soup was hot, I felt the clam chowder was way too basic and more watery than a thick consistency. Above all else, I felt the prices for the food were much higher for this area. They do have a bar. And the main menu showed they offer happy hour. But I did not try any of their drinks or see any other menu that showed which items/ drinks they have during happy hour.

I had ordered the Akitaca special and it came with 1lbs of snow crab legs, 1lbs of shrimp head off, and 1lbs of craw fish. For the sauce, I had gotten the house special sauce and it was delicious but a little salty, that's why it's important to use the lemons that they give you for the sauce as well. I had also gotten 2 portions of white rice and the spicy garlic noodles which were absolutely delicious as well but do keep in mind, it was a tad bit spicy. The seafood was really fresh as well and this spot is way better than bag o crab in terms of everything, from the seafood, to the garlic noodles, and the sauce as well. The service was not bad as well, as I did get the order togo and ate it at home. The ambiance was also not bad, while waiting to pick up my order, there were quite a bit of people in the restaurant and there was also music being played on the speakers so it wasn't quiet at all.

This is a cool spot when you're craving seafood. There is plenty of parking all around, front entrance faces the Taco Bell, what we thought was the main entrance (facing Mister Car Wash) was closed off. We came on a weekday evening and there was plenty of seating inside with only a few occupied so service was very quick. The decor is simple but nice, we sat in one of the booths, but the bar top at the bar is worth checking out, the glitter caught my eye walking by! I like that they serve a side of rice with the orders, it was sooooo good with a bit of the juice from the crab boil poured over. We got crab, shrimp and mussels with the house flavor, French fries, and micheladas. Everything tasted very good and we'll definitely be back again!

Food is great and fresh. They also have a full bar. Staff has always been wonderful and accommodating.

Giving 2 stars, one for our server and one for the food. My Fiancé and I went to go try this new place out for our anniversary. We heard good things about it however, we didn't get a good experience at all. As soon as I walk in I checked in and was put on a wait list. We sat at the bar for 15 mins and there was no bartender. We had intentions of ordering a drink while we waited but that's okay. The girl at the hostess stand with the lip piercings scream "party for Katy" and within seconds later before we could even get up from our chair she said "no party for Katy" and we have to reassure her we were very much there. Rude and impatient but it's okay. We sat at our table for 28 minutes with NO service. The table behind us got up and said something. We were greeted by a very friendly server named Yvette. She apologized for the inconvenience and assured us she was helping our original server Giovanni out. She was friendly and attentive and made us completely forget we had waited 28 mins with no service. We ordered our food and enjoyed it. We thought it was a lot but what do we know we are first timers! Our server Giovanni checked in on us a couple times and he was very nice as well. When we paid our tab we had noticed we were charged $69 for a meal instead of the $58 one we had originally ordered. When we left we went back to the not so friendly hostess and she was once again not so friendly about it. She made us feel like it was our fault and we told her we didn't order that meal. The male bartender had then joined in the conversation as he was using the computer and they had called Yvette over. When they told Yvette what we had said she said "I was in a hurry helping them out it was their for time and they waited 30 mins I rang in the wrong order by mistake they ordered the $58 special" the male bartender looked at the female hostess and told her Yvette had to pay us back the difference out of her own pocket. We were extremely frustrated because that is not okay. Them as MANAGERS should have taken accountability and should have handled the situation themselves. Mistreating your employees in front of paying customers is completely unacceptable. Our servers were the ONLY friendly staff members and I highly suggest the owners to have a very much needed conversation with the "managers". I mean one of them did serve a minor a strawberry margarita with alcohol after her parents had clearly ordered a non alcoholic one. I worked in the restaurant and bar industry for 10+ years and NEVER have I witnessed such poor behavior as a patron. Will only be back to see Yvette. P.s. customers pay a lot of money to eat at a restaurant like this. Treat them with kindness!
