This place is by far the MOST unethical place I've ever had the disservice of attending. I began taking jiu jitsu in September religiously, and the morals of the gym have steadily declined ever since. The owner sneakily switched and canceled class times without talking to clients (3 times in 2 weeks), brought in unqualified coaches who are known to have poor reputations around the community, AND failed to tell the jiu jitsu instructor that class times were canceled/changed - leaving both students and parents confused and frustrated on the status of the classes they invest hundreds of dollars to take on a monthly basis. Once I was made privy to these changes, I took the liberty to take my frustrations to the owner's father, Kent, who runs the front desk. I explained that I felt that his business practices were unprofessional and unethical and he proceeded to raise his voice and verbally attack me in front of his paying customers. I highly discourage anyone from even considering attending this place. They run a poor business and don't value their students or the people that work for them.

I can no longer support this place. They have completely changed their entire program and moved away from being about martial arts mentality. There is no respect or loyalty with their clients or instructors. Without warning or discussion they eliminated my jiu-jitsu program and eliminated the boxing program. They brought in some shady guy who has burned several other gyms in Stockton, Concord, and San Jose to run a striking program. The martial arts community is small and this Tony guy they now have is not trustworthy. I am now training with Darcio Lira Jiu-jitsu in Livermore and would strongly encourage anyone reading this to not trust this place. You are not respected here as a client and you will not be respected here as an instructor.

I have been training here since they opened two years ago. I was taking just 1 class everyday and loved my instructor. They cancelled the class 2 days after taking my membership fees of $125 out of my account. I have requested a refund for the month of February as what I paid for is no longer available. No warning, no communication...just took my money then cancelled my classes. Forced to give one star when should be negative. I am completely disgusted with them and their business practice.

I was thinking about join AKA in Tracy but after reading comments here about unprofessional, unethical and no respect for people who paid them, I changed my mind. I used to join AKA in San Jose just 3 months before Ken Velasquez got his first title shot and it was Javier who was the owner at the time. I had moved out of San Jose 10 years ago.
