What a delightful little jewel in Campbell! I had no idea this place existed until recently based on some volunteering work that someone I know did here. Each of the rooms has been decorated by a different organization for Christmas and it looks awesome. The volunteers here were so friendly and earnest. Loved it! Check out a slice of history in our backyard!

I find the docents at the Ainsley House very friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate about sharing historical information about this beautiful home located in downtown Campbell.I have been here at Christmas time and every room has a Christmas tree and well decorated by different organizations or individuals. They have two nights were you can visit the beautiful gift shop and enjoy appetizers and wine.Really well done and so magical!

So many times going to Campbell and never realized this house is for visit and also has a nice backyard perfect for pictures as well as a nice affordable gift shop. My friend and I had no idea of who Mr. Ainsley was, so it was great to learn about the peach cannery industry in Campbell and expand our education about this area.

Nice local gem to visit and see. It's a piece of England in the bay area. You learn so much from the tours and really appreciate how much the times have changed from just a generation ago.The docents who work here are lovely.Just taking off one star because the prices have changed but they didn't update the coupons or brochures. They were selling joint tickets to the museum across the street and it turned out it was a free day. But everything worked out in the end.

We held our Mom's Celebration of Life in the garden on Sunday. It was beautiful. Wonderful experience working with Barbie and Stephanie! I would definitely recommend this site for weddings and other celebrations. The catering staff were very happy with the setup as well. Thank you!

What a great place to visit and learn about the Campbell area.So much rich history about this house and Mr.and Mrs Ainsley. The architecture of this house is surreal. I mean everything was well thought out. The material they used to build the house (For-geeet-ah-bout-it) was California Oak..good luck finding that now days.At over 6 thousands Sq. Feet with a full breath and with walk in basement and attic, walk in shower with beautiful wall to wall green tile and 5 COUNT THEM 5 SHOWER HEADS! And for Mrs. Ainsley a wall to wall bathroom with lavender tile simply outstanding.A still functional electric stove and oven from the 1920s as well as a refrigerator one of the first probably in the United States. All the furniture in the house are the originals mr. Ainsley's daughter still visits every now and again and must be in her 90s.I could write a book on this place. The tour takes about 2 hours and is well worth the price of admission. The volunteer dosans also get 5 stars they answer all your questions and we're just fantastic.People book mark this place and go!!

Iv'e seen this place a few times and have been curious so when the wife and I had a weekday off we decided to explore. I love learning about historical places and times. Right off the bat the tour guide was super excited that we were there which is always great because it sets the tone for the tour. We started off with watching a short video on how the house was moved from its old location to its new location in the building where you lurchase tickets. The guide tells you a little bit about the history of the area and owner. Then she walked us through the house and shared a lot of knowledge with us. She was super friendly and answered all the questions we had. I loved how it was just the two of us since we got to spend more time on the things we were interested in. Almost everything in there was from its time and well preserved. Amazing to see the then and now.

What a fantastic treasure for the Valley. The house used to sit on hundreds of acres of land and orchards right where " eBAY is today " . Can you imagine how amazing hundreds and hundreds of fruit trees would have been back in the day!!!!!It took 8 hours to move the house to Campbell only a bit over a mile, that would have been quite a sight coming down the road.I'm a history buff so it was fun learning the history of the Ainsley House, how both Mr & Mrs were just regular hard working people that made it big on the fruit business. The house is incredible , built in 1925 - 26 with the amazing luxury of electrify , a shower with 5 nozzles, an electric range and oven , a heating system. Amazing woodwork throughout . The roof thatch work, check out the pic, is curved and rolling. It cost $200,000 to repair It because each piece of wood has to be hand shaped. Incredible craftsmanship. We're going back to check it out in December. They apparently go all out with the holiday decorations. You need to check it out.

Took the tour on 10/01/2921. Fascinating. It was good to see and compare with other houses I have seen. Moving the house in 1995 was also documented well in the pre-tour video. The volunteers had actually seen the move when they were much younger. Mr Ainsley was obviously an entrepreneur with foresight and a great plan. He was one of the first I have heard about who offered child care to his workers.

Beautiful house, interesting local history, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We visited on a Sunday afternoon and were able to take a docent-led tour after a short wait. Tickets for students are $4, adults are $8 (there is a senior discount, I believe.) Parking is available in the adjacent lot (entrance on Harrison Ave.) Recommended for ages 12 and up - little kids may not find it interesting and may be tempted to touch the furniture & walls (which isn't allowed.) There are stairs on the tour. Our docent Deb was enthusiastic, well-informed, and answered all our questions. She pointed out interesting details and contrasted this home and its appliances/furnishings to houses of today. Tickets may be purchased in the gift shop in the detached garage space. The site is available to rent for events and weddings.
