My body is sore, my legs hurt, and I have a throbbing headache from being hit in the head close range with a paintball..I had a blast at this place! Its a really long drive from San Francisco, but if your planning a surprise date and want to really throw your loved one off, what better than paintball in the middle of nowhere! The owners are a riot, they themselves are worth the drive! I'm no pro when it comes to paint-ball, but apparently most fields don't allow rental guns to run on pre-purchased paint - Action Paintball does allow it, I was actually encouraged by the guy when talking on the phone them. Not only can you bring your own paint, but they also allow some guy to sell & rent higher grade paintball equipment in their parking lot! After a thorough discussion last night, we concluded that Action Paintball will receive 5-stars. Wow, we've got the Yelp bug bad - we actually had a thorough discussion planning our Yelp review on the drive home..

So for my buddies birthday he wanted to get a small group together and go paint ballin. Nothing like acting like you are a killer/hunter to bring joy to your life. I honestly hadnt been paintballin in years and never on a course in the hills with thick trees. We drove up around 9:30, rented all the gear and got started around 10am. I was able to rent a gun, mask, belt for extra paintballs and a big bag of paintballs for $40. The first two games we got our royal ass kicked. Like the game was over in 5-10 minutes. I even got shot right between the eyes, didnt even know the guy was there. But as the games went along we found our groove and started to dominate. I never died the last 8 games and my buddies and I were working together as a finely tuned machine. Dont get me wrong, I did get hit a couple times in the arm(left a nice bruise), but the paintball didnt explode so I was able to continue. I enjoyed the different courses they had. Also enjoyed how some of the courses were out in the open and some were through the thick trees. After every two rounds you can walk to your truck and grab some water/snack. We didnt get done until a little after 4. So for $40 you get to play all day and rent equipment. That is a pretty good price for all day fun. I also recommend wearing camo of some sort because you can really blend in and either sneak up on people or have them walk right to you because they dont see you. Anyway, it was a kick ass time and we are already wanting to come back again.P.S. I was horrifically sore for a few days afterwards and my feet were killing me. Am I a wuss? Probably. But did I look tough in camo? HELL YES!!!

I've been into paintball long enough to know what I like. I enjoy paintball in any outdoor field, which gives that rush of the hunt feeling. Unfortunately, in California, there seem to be very few of these types of fields available. I decided to man up and drive up from San Francisco to give this field a shot. It was hot and dry up there, but it's normal for the area. Easy registration and reasonable priced for self-equipped players makes this very comfortable field to go to. Self-fill stations for HPA players. This field actually has a lot to get you started playing, so you don't really have to worry much. The field size: This is a ridiculously huge field! Flanking a defending team is almost like a hike! And there's practically every thing you find in a wooded field and I definitely recommend a good pair of boots. With the heatwave in the area, breathable clothing is even more important. Bring lots of water!!The other players here are respectable. I assume most of them are local players. I haven't seen anyone wiping or doing something nasty, so that's always a good thing when playing a fair game. One thing to point out. Because of the field size, the refs will hold breaks on the field itself instead of walking back to the staging area. That means they'll gather everyone together, make certain that all markers are plugged and put to safe, and then have everyone remove their goggles for a breath of fresh air and water. I like this a lot since it's hard to get a good circulation of fresh air into your goggles sometimes and this helps prevent heat stroke. If I live in the area, this would be my home field. So many variables and tactics to play around with and the staff are awesome! Definitely stands out among every other field in the bay area in all aspects!

80% woodsball and 20% speedball. If you like woodsball then this is the place for you. There's lots of places to hide and sneak up on ppl. Beware of the Predator.Bring lunch, snacks, and plenty to drink. The closest place to eat is about 10miles away. They give you a 30min break for lunch so it's better to bring your lunch.

Do not even know where to start. The staff here made my paintball experience so comfortable and fun! I drove my dads Camaro and the parking lot was a bit muddy from previous rainy days so I did get his car stuck. Staff and players pitched a great team effort and helped us get out of the mud. THANKS GUYS!!! Lots of room to play...Nice people and good snacks. They were really big on safety same as well (a huge plus). If I could give 10 stars for the customer service I would. We for sure will be back!

Pros: Good prices. Good staff. Different scenarios played out in woodsball. raffles for prizes. Cons: Nothing really offered in the staging area. No benches for you to prep your gear. No shade. Now the review. I'm from elk grove. The drive to the place took a good amount of time and there is nothing close if you need to eat or buy non paintball things. After pulling in through the little dirt road we got into the parking area. There was no place to put down our gear. However, Dave was nice enough to offer us a small folding table and we squeezed our stuff on top of it. We got there just a few minutes late so we didn't get to join the first round. We waited around for about 30 minutes for the first round of players to get back. When they got back and it was time to go up to the field we joined our respective squads and began up. The field is huge! Way too big for my taste. I don't know how large really...but it feels like we walked over five miles for a day of playing. It was probably close to 30-40 players per team that day...and we still had a hard time finding enemy targets. All in all....if you like woodsball, slow games, and hiking....this is a great place. If it's fast paced, short field, airball...then find another field. One star for pricing one star for staff.

I've been playing at this field on and off for over a decade. I guess you can say I did a lot of growing up on this field and the staff here are at the least close friends, perhaps more accurately a step under family. Honestly. An excellent field with caring ownership and staff. They are VERY accommodating to new players and the staff is friendly (will help you figure out any equipment issues. There is new ownership so we'll see how things change, but I would only think it would be for the better!

Love this place! Fair prices, great staff, decent equipment (I rent). And so many different courses and all differ pretty greatly. We always get a big group together from work, and cookout for lunch. Bring plenty of food and drinks for the day! Nothing is around.
