Paid him to care for and train our Friesian Quarter cross filly basic ground manners. Two weeks and many warnings about the danger of her gate on her paddock being ignored by Facility And Mr Hughes, my filly was horribly injured. 15000 dollars and 8 months later she has healed. Mr Hughes denied any responsibility for her injuries and refused to pay any vet bills nor return our already paid training money. The filly came home worse than she left home. I never expected such deceit from this seemingly kind and authentic person. Penryn Oak Stables refused any recompense either. Enter at your own risk!

Mike is one amazing horse trainer and I honestly can't put into words how talented of a trainer he truly is..I have used him to start my little BLM mustang mare and I am just so blown away on how far she has come and how fast it all has happened..if you are looking for someone with a soft patient hand I can tell you that Mike is the guy for you..I've seen huge and fast improvement from him, with every horse that he has worked with and it truly amazes me! And I have even taken horse back riding lessons from him and he has helped me over come so many of my biggest fears and build up my confidence level by so much...I definitely highly recommend Mike Hughes to anyone looking for lessons or having any troubles with their horse's or needing help starting them

Mike did an amazing job with Bella up to the day Bella hurt her self in her paddock. You also wanted me to write a bad review about Mike and you even told me you were going to lie and make up story's to hurt Mike's horse training and to hurt Penryn Oak Stales. You are a horrible lady for making up lies about what happen. Bella hurt her self in her paddock and you are just looking to blame someone for what happen even though it isn't true. You even said when you were leaving here that someone has to take the blame and it doesn't matter if it is true or not. Mike is an amazing horse trainer and this was not his fault or the fault of Penryn Oak Stables

Mike Hughes has a gift with horses. If your horse just needs a tune up or a complete overhaul due to behavioral problems including all stall vices Mike is amazing! The best part is that he'll come to you if you are local. Huge thumbs up
