828 Bites and Brews

Walked into this establishment on Saturday after finding out Handles Gastropub was permanently closed across the street. Another Covid 19 casualty; this time a business. Anyways, went inside and sat at bar around noon time. There was a blonde lady that was the bartender and she was pleasant and accommodating. She took our drink orders. We ordered a couple of their specialty margaritas with salt on the rims. They were prickly pear as I recall. We got to work on those and then ordered lunch. I got a burger with a house salad. It was very good. My wife got a blast sandwich with a house salad. She said it was very good. We watched a little over a quarter of the Cal vs Norte Dame football game on one of their several televisions. Disappointing game but great venue to watch the game. I'll be back here again in the future. Patrons were nice too!

Try the Guineas burger!!! Great atmosphere, very friendly wait staff. Their fries have a great balance of crisp and potato flavor to them. The garlic fries have freshly chopped garlic and parmesan cheese. I highly recommend this place as a nice lunch/munch and beer location.

I don't know if I completely understand the "bar within a bar" concept and I wish they had more beers. An Altamont would be nice. That said, the food was excellent and the service attentive. Try the fried avocado to be sure. The tamales and mac and cheese were also excellent. I will definitely be back.

Food was good and bartender was a great waitress too. Very different vibe than next door (which I can't stand!) me for go again but not high on my list

Not a very large space. Tapas were excellent. We were very impressed by the fried avocados. The sausage plate was my favorite with a nice savory vs. sweet vs. sharp. interplay.

This is a fun place just to go and meet friends for a quick bite or a quick cocktail. The service is excellent and the size of the servings are perfect. The chef is creative and always has something on their "Specials" menu I haven't tried before.

large selection of craft beers and tasty grub...had a great local stout, ceviche, thai chicken wings, and spicy tacos...all top notch...really nice atmosphere and knowledgeable staff...best of pleasanton!!!

Really Good food and friendly service, but BOY are they proud of their beers. Some pints coming in at $8-$10 that I have seen at other places for no more than $6.00 relatively small selection of beers too.

We needed a quick bite around 3 PM cuz we missed lunch but didn't want to wreck our dinner. The street tacos were fast and yummy. Bartender was great.

The food here is absolutely amazing! Everyone took great care of us and the patio is so relaxing. Only wish we could have sampled the whole menu! The tamales, tacos, and trio are fantastic - especially the cheese bites and chipotle sauce!
