i like to come here but on multiple occasions it'll say that it's open, but end up being closed as i arrive after a 45 minute drive. Not really cool.

It's right off Hwy 80 downtown Sac and easy to getto from Vacaville.Plenty of parking & it's run by the city of Sacramento with two staff members.12 to 9 on weekends and 4-9pmduring the week that's winter hours. it's three dollars to get in and they have helmets to borrow.Helmets are a must &it's for skateboards and scooters and no bikes. it looks like a big hangar that they've renovated.Staff very nice, young Africian American girl was super nice and helpful. Very safe and supervised.Need to complete a one time waiver and it's kept on file so kids just pay and sign themselves in.Pictures from 6 years ago are still whatit looks like but probably some new stuff.Kids look like they are dropped off and orParents in the car waiting.

One of three local skate parks. Granite Skate Park off Power Inn a couple miles south of HW50 is the best. Eight bowls from easy to expert, a long nice street course, a three-quarter pipe, plus plenty of rails. This park smokes. http://www.skatedesign.com/new%20pages/granite.htmlTanzanite Park in Natomas behind (west of) Natomas Marketplace is very good - three nice bowls and a street course. It's shut down right now for fix'n.28th and B Skate Park is good for some fun - it has plenty of decent sized ramps (boxes and 1/4 pipes) and some good rails *but no bowls* because it's a big old warehouse. It is much cooler temperaturewise than the others - which in Sactown summer afternoon is a huge deal. You'll have to drain your aunt's pool when they're on summer vaycay for a good bowl. ;-) 28th and B sometimes doubles as a "skate camp" too.Pros:In the shade!Good cheap fun.Quarter pipes, boxes and rails. DowntownCons:No bowls - boo hoo. Have to stick to flatground airs and ollies. Bring a helmet.

Is this an indoor or outdoor skate park?It feels as though the city had a shelter available that was no longer being used and skaters decided to use it. It's covered but doesn't seem to be fully enclosed. The floor is concrete but everything else seems to be made from plywood. The big thing to remember is that bikes aren't allowed. The city has a bike park, but if you ride scooters or skateboards or use inline skates, you're welcome.Just about anything you'd want to ride is there, short of a full pipe, both vert and street. Even on a Tuesday evening, it was fairly busy.Strangely, I was mentioning the rules to a buddy who was going with me, and apparently, the city's web site was almost completely missing. Also, no one would answer the phone. There is a $3.00 admission fee, and they didn't have waivers to be signed. The only real warning--watch out for pigeon poop.

Large warehouse for the kiddos to skate, scooter, or roller skate. Lots to do for all levels. $3 to get in and rental helmets available for $1. Cash only! Nice and cool right now. Definitely beats skating in today's hot sun. A couple table for onlookers but not too many. Bring drinks!

On the upside, large indoor park with plenty of cool terrain to explore. Also, some of the ramps and obstacles are mobile, so you can move them around and make interesting combos. My kid and his friends really like this place, so it's a big deal to have the opportunity to go there. On the down side, the entire place appears to be a former storage of some sort and therefore, the floors are not as smooth as I would like them to be in some areas. Also, many of the ramps are "DIY" type and some are in disrepair. Additionally, some of the small transitions from a previous loading dock area to the main floor have wavy gravy homemade concrete craziness. All in all, it's a fun time and the quirky build adds to the adventure.

Had a great time with my three kids. It's safe, shaded and they have cold Gatorade! What else could we ask for on a skateboarding day?
