My partner and I love stopping by after a day at the beach, or whenever we're in the area. Parking can be a little tricky, depending on the time, but if there isn't parking available behind the business (there are a couple of designated spots for Stella Jean's), then there is usually street parking available if you drive around a little. The staff is friendly here and offer samples. Our personal favorites that we've had so far would be the ube + pandesal toffee and the mango sticky rice! There are plenty of flavors that are year round, as well as seasonal flavors. Lots of seating options as Stella Jean's shares a space with Pop Pie. The overall atmosphere is very welcoming!

As all Stella Jean's are, this ice cream store was cute and stylish with a nice outside patio too. They have pints to go or scoops in store depending on what you're looking for! Pros: super unique flavors and always amazing seasonal flavors. Tastes fresh and they have a variety of sweet and more savory (but still sweet) flavors. There really is something for everyone, even folks that enjoy more traditional offerings. Highly recommend the strawberry oat and mango sticky rice, but fair warning all flavors are very very sweet! One scoop is plenty. Cons: Every time we've been to a Stella Jeans, they've been stingy with trying flavors if they let us try any at all. Given their extremely unique lineup, it is hard to gauge what flavors you might even like, so samples are crucial, even if small. They also charge extra if you want a split single scoop, which doesn't feel great since you're getting the same amount of ice cream....since most shops don't charge for this, it feels a bit much.TL;DR--worth a try, unique flavors.

Mixed feelings on this place. Loved the flavor concepts, especially the mango sticky rice and ube, but the actual taste didn't really hit the spot for me. We also came on a busy Saturday night, so the workers obviously had their hands full but the first thing we were told, before saying anything, was "I'm too busy so you get one sample then you make your choice". That immediately turned us off and we felt super awkward and uncomfortable. I got the mango sticky rice and POG. The POG was good, but a bit too tart for me and the mango sticky rice, as I said, didn't quite hit the spot for me personally, though my partner enjoyed it.

My husband and I stopped by to enjoy some ice cream. I was pleasantly surprised by how rich and delicious their flavors were. I tried their Ube Pandesal and Sticky Mango. I plan to be back again this same week to try their other flavors! That's how much I liked it! The workers are really friendly.

Thanks to instagram, we had high hopes. The ice cream was OK. One small scoop in a cup that was exactly the same size as the ice cream. We ordered to go, but they didn't have lids. When we got home, about 5 minutes later, my ice cream had melted just enough that when I put my spoon in, it spilled all over the floor. Bummer. I also asked for two scoops and only got one. The smores ice cream was a dark gray color, which was a little off-putting.

Another good experience at Stella Jean's! This time I tried the seasonal strawberry basque cheesecake flavor and it was awesome.

Run for these seasonal flavors. Earl grey and the Oaxcan chocolate are freaking delicious. Matcha Pistachio was good but the Earl Grey was the clear winner. The line may be long but once it's your turn, the peeps behind the counter do a great job in offering samples and not rushing you. Split scoops are the best to try two flavors. That's what we got to share between the two of us. If it's just you and you don't want too much ice cream, try a kids scoop. They also have pints to purchase and you can skip the longer scoops line to grab a pint. Seating outside (about 5-6 tables that seat two each) or plenty of seating inside. They share a space with Pop Pie which you should def try as well. Parking can be a hassle. We looped the block about 3x on a Thursday night. Was it worth our patience? Yes!

Forever fan of Stella Jeans and I was happy to finally visit this location. This one does have seating inside and a bathroom but it seems like people gravitate to Pop Pie Co. more. As it seems as they usually aren't busy, there was a bell to ring to summon a worker from the back. The ice cream is always high quality and the workers are always so sweet. Parking is very limited so expect street parking. So happy theres more locations!

stella jeans is definitely one of my go-to ice cream places in san diego. they have a lot of very unique flavors, my favorites are mango sticky rice and strawberry oat crumble! the service is usually pretty fast and friendly, and you can sample various flavors before ordering. there are a couple of tables inside and outside to sit and enjoy your sweet treat. they share a building with their sister company, pop pie. would recommend!
