YUM! Have seen this spot before and was so excited to come by again!!Came in on a Friday night so it was definitely busy but the line moved quickly, workers were so kind and helped us with samples before we placed an orderThe ube was soooo good and the chocolate covered banana was also delicious! Can't wait to come back and try more flavors

Love Stella Jeans. The ube pandesal and strawberry oat crumble (V) are my favorite staple flavors. Their necessity coffee and Oaxacan chocolate flavors during this past winter were my absolute all time favorites though. Really hope they bring them back. Friendly staff. Get to try samples which is helpful. Store has a few benches inside to sit and then some outdoor tables and chairs. Serving sizes are decent. On the pricier side. I think ice cream parlors in general have become insanely expensive but obviously that has not stopped me from coming (just visit less).

Came here with my brother this time. It was his first time at this location. Just remember that the building is painted a cute pink and light green color! That is how they stand out from the rest of Kensington. There was a line, but it wasn't too bad. They have outdoor seating (front and in the back) and 3 small tables inside. Since I saw on Instagram their new flavors of this season-- I was really looking forward to tasting it. I love Stella Jean Ice Cream because they have unique flavors and usually have great rotation. My thoughts on what we sampled: - Sweet Tea + Peach Jam: 0% sweetness in this sweet tea. It was straight tea, no sweetness, no peach notes. Not for me. - Double Chocolate: yummy! My brother tried:- Brown Butter Pecan: he said it didn't taste like much. - S'mores: Pretty good!- POG aka Pineapple + Passion Fruit + Orange + Pink Guava: it was good, but not one that he'd want a full scoop of. To order, I had the split scoop of the Chocolate Covered Banana (v+gf) and the Double Chocolate. Usually I love banana flavored stuff so that's why I ordered this without tasting it. It was good, don't get me wrong. But it tasted like I was having overripe frozen + blended banana while at a different gelato spot, their chocolate banana flavor tasted like I was eating a freshly peeled banana (which I enjoy that flavor more). The chocolate pieces in Stella Jeans version felt "separated" from the ice cream (thick?). It has a heavy oat milk flavor which I'm not a fan of and I didn't like the bits of almond either (I find almond to be drying in the mouth). The Double Chocolate is one that I sampled and enjoyed. But when I had it in a full scoop, I was like...hmm. This flavor wasn't smooth -- it was creamy but also a bit icy in some parts of the ice cream. It also had a flavor of salt! I'm not sure where that came from. Overall, I'd rate these two flavors a total of 3/5. Scoops were kind of small today, for the price that it was. My brother had the ube pandesal and the mango sticky rice. He said the ube was good but it didn't taste as fresh and flavorful as the one at the OG location. And the mango sticky rice was different too! The sticky rice portion was a darker color and the flavor wasn't as yummy/well balanced. Another thing he mentioned was that the sample spoon sizes got smaller and smaller with every ask to sample. (We sampled about 3). Overall, I'd still recommend to come to Stella Jeans to try their ice cream flavors. They had a great array and several that we didn't taste. I think that everyone's palettes are different--therefore what I don't like, someone else might love.

Best ice cream in SD. Bought a few pints from An's Dry Cleaning, and a few pints from here. Actually tried the whole "1st time ice cream flight" from An's, the day of, too. They're both an Adams Ave, about a 5 minute drive from each other, so you can be the judge. But as for me and my house, Stella Jean's Ube & Toffee cannot be beat. Tried the seasonal Guava and Cream Cheese as well, and this was also good, but lends to be a little sweeter and richer. Whereas hubs and I can easily eat half a pint of the Ube, w/o being careful! The Mango Sticky Rice and the Strawberry oat are pretty good, until you have the Ube, IMHO. There's just nothing like it out there. The freshly made waffle cones are delicious, but do have a strong cinnamon flavor. I like that they're well done and crunchy, and not underdone and soft.

I love the ube pandesal toffee flavor the best! But they have so many other good flavors as well. Lots of good vegan and gf option. I like their consistency of the ice cream and it isn't overly sweet. Will be my newest ice cream addiction!

Very spontaneous ice cream around here because we have a friend who lives in this neighborhood and had good things to say. Not going to lie, the flavors were really extremely creative! Some of the Asian flavors there, especially. Ube Pandesal Toffee - absolutely delicious flavor and had that buttery vibe going on as well.Probably my second favorite among everything I tried. S'mores - I usually always a lot of smells ice cream or somehow this one just did not hit. It was also like a charcoal flavor to it, but that isn't usually a problem. I'm not sure what was up here but not the best. Strawberry Basque Cheesecake - very unique flavor here! And very good as well. It's like a strawberry cheesecake with a little fancyness. Husband picked this flavor. I went with the Milk + Cookies; It was like a classic cookies and cream ice cream but proper chunks of Oreos and just really nice overall.

Stella jeans offers some unique flavors that you can't find elsewhere! They rotate seasonal flavors so it's always fun to try their offerings. The stores are all so cute and modern with friendly staff. We tried the brown butter pecan which was decadent and smooth, but not too sweet! Their seasonal sweet tea and peach was delightful. Notes of black tea intertwined with fruity peachy jam that complemented each other really well.

This new location of Stella Jean has been a great addition to Kensington and gives the block a bit of vibrance which has been needed in my opinion especially since the closing of Ken Cinema. The service is very friendly and you are able to sample as many of their flavors as you like. They usually have a great variety of flavors to choose from and they are well balanced with quality ingredients. The space is clean but a bit on the small side so it's nice to be able to get a scoop and walk around the neighborhood and explore.
