A nice little place with some interesting history. The building once served as a brothel and is known to be haunted. The bartender/waitress/cook was very friendly and provided great service.Fish and chips order for ~$11 was too much food for two. The cook made slightly too much but didn't want to waste. Good food. Good service. Interesting history. Stop in for a drink and a story.

The bartender Arlene is awesome (from the 808) & so is the owner Marilyn. Humongous Deli sandwiches for $5. Excellent prime rib dip sandwich. Full bar, pool table, pull tabs, & beer garden. Locals place. I come here every time I visit Stanwood & feel welcomed like

New to the area, stopped into the Stanwood Hotel & Tavern today. The "help" was incredibly rude, couldn't be bothered to provide me with a menu but directed me to one on the bar, then swore at customers when they asked about placing an order. I won't be going back. Wonder if the health inspector needs to stop in (for a brief second) as well...

I'm into the whole historic places thing and had high hopes for this place. It has all the working for it to have some serious nostalgic potential. Old building, saloon looking porch, antique bar backdrop and rickety facade but turns out while the building itself may have some history to it the inside is just made to look old. Kinda sad because the place has potential until the charm is sucked right out of it by remodeling. The do have live bands really friendly staff and people whom hang out there seem to be pretty welcoming. Their pool table could use some serious upgrading. They make up in the quarky factor with huge barrels of peanut which they welcome you to toss shells on the floor. Historic qualms aside, i'll be back should I head back to Stanwood.

Went here with friend of mine who enjoys going to places with ghost stories, and this place did not disappoint. While the stories are spoken in hushed tones and have to cozy up to people to get information, Really enjoyed the ambiance and it being a bit off the beaten path of the main road, while still within sight of it. This had the classic dive bar feel and while I don't drink really enjoyed the bar feel along with the pool area. The food was nice as well though not truly memorable. Will come back here again if passing through.

I've been at least 1 bar in every state in this country except Alaska, Hawaii, and Maine and that bar is the worst I've ever been too!

I ordered prime rib au juice and my husband ordered fish and chips. Very generous portions, and delicious. Friendly wait staff. Prices not as cheap as others indicated, but quite reasonable. We split a piece of the homemade blackberry pie when we finished...even though I needed a to go box. Quite delious!
