Standard Proof Whiskey

Must stop whiskey spot, off the main strip...great service and drinks...place is perfect for a night cap or apparently even private tastings...Their whiskey flight is delicious and the bar tenders are very generous with the pours...You have to try them out...the bourbon was one of my favorites in town.Definitely coming back!

It's impossible to give Standard Proof anything but 5 stars. We've stopped in multiple times and had a great time each time. Staff is friendly, the vibe is nicely chilled (literally, in the summer heat, and figuratively), and the bartending staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about what they serve.I'd definitely recommend popping into their cute little photobooth if you want a take-home memory. It's $5, and it takes credit cards too. (I love the ones I got)They also offer cocktail classes here in a separately stocked bar in the back of Standard Proof. This means any cocktail class won't be bothering you while you enjoy your cocktails at the center bar.With its classy, upscale vibe in here, you'll probably feel more in-place if you aren't in the typical Broadway street swimsuits and jean shorts, but there didn't seem to be any dress code. Lots of business people and date night couples though. It's quiet with light background music. Their Espresso Martini is REALLY creative; even if you aren't a big whiskey person, I recommend it. They balance out the harshness of whiskey really well. It's even discounted during Happy Hours.

I came by for an espresso martini mixology course, and loved every moment of it. The class was fun, educational and most importantly--tasty. Our instructor was great, and so friendly. The vibe of the place was fun and upbeat, but more intimate than other bustling spots downtown.I highly recommend a visit here!

HEALTH CODE VIOLATION. I thought the place had a cool vibe and my drink was good. But then this happened:There was a manager clearly training a new bartender. They were talking behind the bar when the new hire hit a vape several times during the conversation right in front of me. Not only is that a health code violation, but I didn't observe her wash her hands afterward, nor did I observe the manager do anything about it. Rather, the manager left shortly after. Makes me wonder about other sanitation practices if this is what occurs during training. Gross.

I'm glad I found this place during my visit to Nashville. The whiskey is amazing! Plus it's a little further away from broadway so it's not too crowded.

I went here twice on my Nashville trip and loved it both times! It was right next to my Air bnb so it was a convenient spot to walk to and sit down for a relaxing drink. My first stop here the bartender made us a drink based on what we told him we liked which was very kind and made us feel special. He was very friendly and told us some of his life story while he made out drinks. My second visit here the bartender made my drink very fast and it was delicious. I love the inside of the place and I would never expect it to be such a great place based on what it looks like from the outside.

I was so excited to visit Standard Proof. I love Nashville, I love whiskey, and it has a perfect 5-star Yelp rating. I could not have been more disappointed in a distillery. The bartenders felt a little short-tempered, and I'm guessing it's because I was taking away attention from their regulars? Not sure. Also live action Scooby Doo was playing on the TV, which was obnoxious.I got a flight to try all the available whiskies. My favorite flavors were coffee, honeysuckle, pineapple, but even those weren't that memorable. I couldn't finish the entire flight because half the flavors were too sickly sweet or unpalatable, especially cinnamon. I'm happy for everyone whose jam this is, and I really tried hard to like Standard Proof. Just wasn't for me.

As a non whiskey drinker, the bartender was so sweet and helped make me fun drinks that i would like while the person accompanying me drank a flight. He was super knowledgeable and attentive, and the drinks were delicious. This is a great place to support local business. Be ware that the only liquor sold here is made in house, so no other types of liquor are sold here. However, the local experience and learning was great. The ambiance was very relaxed while also feeling a bit high end for not too bad of a price. I would recommend this to tourists, but it seemed that many local people like to frequent here!

I scheduled the mixology class for my husband's birthday! It was Awesome! Moxie, our instructor was knowledgeable and patient. I 10 out of 10 recommend this for a girls night out or date night.

Amazing experience in our cocktail class with Kat!! We had SUCH a good time learning about the different whiskeys and trying new cocktail recipes. 10/10 must do while in Nashville!!!
