We are vacationing in Chicago and found Standard Pho near where we were staying. We missed it as we drove by but did a loop around the block and went in. The staff was excellent and very helpful as we ordered our food. One of my daughters and I had Pho. She had the spicy broth and thought it was excellent. It was a tad too spicy for me but I enjoyed my beef broth with a little extra spice added. I added steak to my Pho and it was great. My other daughter sampled the banh mi. I, of course, sampled as well. I enjoyed the beef and she enjoyed the chicken. My wife had the chicken over rice. Again, this was a hit. We enjoyed Standard Pho and would come again if in the area.

Food: 5/10 the pho itself, once I disregarded the fact that there were two bugs in the soup was just okay. Definitely better than other places I've tried but I probably won't come back for thisAmbiance: very casual, you order everything on your phone, I wish the place felt cleaner. The water was sticky on the outside of the bottle and there were lipstick stains on the edge tooService: 5/5 the workers were all very kind! Positive to my negative experience overall

You would not believe how dirty this place is. I was seated on a table that has not been wiped at all from the previous guest. I ended up cleaning it myself using water and napkins. All the other tables were equally dirty or in extremely neglected conditions. I would highly highly recommend getting takeout here instead of eating in. The pho is actually pretty good, but the lack of cleanliness was very distracting. It was hard to enjoy the food knowing what the environment was like. Also, we technically got short rib but there was no short rib. The explanation was that they deboned it because customers did not enjoy the bone. I suspect the real reason is they can get away with giving very little short rib this way. Anyway, 4/5 pho flavor but 1/5 cleanliness. Probably won't be back, except maybe for takeout.

Interesting place... The service was a little passive aggressive and the food was just OK. While placing my order in person (they only accept it in person or via the app), I requested BBQ sauce and/or sweet and sour sauce on the side for the fried tofu. When I received the food, I inquired if the sauce and utensils were in the bag. With a little attitude, I was told that everything is in the bag. I get to my destination and everything is not in the bag. The food... I've had great pho in other cities. This was my first time trying it in Chicago. It wasn't bad at Standard Pho, just OK. It doesn't taste like authentic pho. The flavors are a little off. Only one hoisin sauce packet and one chili pepper sauce packet were included in the bag when I asked for extra on the side. There must be better spots in Chicago to get pho. I'll be looking elsewhere next time.

After reading many reviews, I decided to give Standard Pho a shot, especially because it's a Tuesday and Sunset is closed and I didn't want to drive up to Argyle. The ambiance is fine, nothing to write home about, and the service was also alright. You order from your phone so, no real need to worry about disappointing service in the first place. For food, I ordered the Pho Tai. The portion size is absolutely massive, far more than I could consume alone. The first couple of things I noticed was obviously size, but also the broth had a layer of oil on it. It was very greasy soup, I'm not sure I've ever seen pho with so much fat floating on the top.The flavor of the broth is just slightly less than I would really hope for, but still quite good. All in all, if you're looking for the best bowl of pho you've ever had, this isn't the place, but it will scratch the itch.

I was craving pho for lunch and browsed through Uber eats and found Standard Pho!I checked Yelp and saw Standard Pho was rated a strong 5/5. Read a few reviews and I was sold! My bowl of to go pho definitely did not disappoint and 100% lived up to my expectations!!- Portion size is generous (ginormous!)- Broth is very flavorful and hearty - Brisket was a much thicker cut than usual for pho but was tender melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness Probably the best tasting pho I've tried in Chicago (granted I've only tried 3 other places). I was bummed my Thai iced tea never made it to me but it may have been a mistake by Uber Eats. Will definitely order from again and recommend for a delicious bowl of pho!!

Finally, a good pho place that's not in Argyle. I'll admit, it felt like a bit of a gamble walking in. "Standard Pho", the sign reads, "The Best Hangover Food"... I definitely raised an eyebrow when I first saw the tagline. It's not wrong... there's just so many more reasons for me to eat pho than when having a hangover. After walking in, the overall impression of the restaurant begins to do a 180. It's clean. The decor is interesting - lots of anime stickers adorn the walls. The owners are very very nice and personable. You can tell they really want you to enjoy the food. We started off brunch/lunch with an order of the ice coffee and Thai ice tea. The iced coffee was something I'd probably stop by just to pick up in the future, when when I'm not feeling pho - the sea salt paired very well with the cream on top and was the perfect mix of creamy smoothness, sweet, salt, and roasted coffee flavor. The Thai ice tea was also very good. For pho I ordered the one with everything in it. It came with all the usual dressings: a generous plate of bean sprouts, Thai basil, sliced jalapeños, and lime. There was hoisin sauce and also what tasted like a house-made Siracha (probably because of supply issues?) on the table. For me pho needs to have a few things:-broth that's hot enough so you need to blow on it a few times before drinking it-broth should not have to rely on salt to bring out the umami flavor-noodles should be slightly al dente-meat within the soup should be generous but not over-the-top-tendons (if you opt to get this) should not have any weird flavors to it. It should be soft enough to chew through, but firm enough to pick up with chopsticksStandard Pho hits these criteria with plenty of room to spare. The portions were generous - I had trouble finishing my bowl (but I did, because it was good food). The broth itself is not as sweet as some other pho shops in Chicago (looking at you, Tank Noodle), which is a plus for me. Overall, I'm ecstatic to have found a good pho place around the IMC/Tri-Taylor area. They seemed to have a steady stream of customers doing take out, which I was happy to see. Given the quality of the food, this is a place that's definitely going on my regular restaurants list, whether or not I have a hangover that day.

Amazing food. Family owned, cozy atmosphere. Friendly service. And open late! The soup was amazing and didn't need anything extra. My favorite pho in the city.

Came on a Saturday evening at about 6 and the place was packed to capacity. Waited about 15 mins for a table. Definitely a popular neighborhood that's a not so secret anymore. I'd rate this as one of the better pho places you'll find in Chicago putting them ahead of a lot of pho spots on Argyle. The broth is flavorful but not overly oily at the same time. High quality cuts of meat and the noodles are thin and soft. The chicken spring rolls are below average though. Meat was drier than the Sahara not much to write home about. I was pleasantly surprised by the pho and will definitely be back for that!

The service was nice and fast, very casual spot. It wasn't busy and had plenty of seating. I really enjoyed my Grilled Chicken Pho and Beef Broth as it was a very large serving, which I am used to. When I ordered grilled chicken I expected grill marks, but it just looked like sautéed chicken. Secondly, the container in which my water was held in had lettuce or something stuck onto the outside which lets me know that they don't clean the water containers well between guest. The Phô was good tho. It was very very flavorful. The Thai Iced Tea was mid. It tasted like watery tea topped with half & half and could use some sweetened condensed milk.
