I sent a bag of the orange honey almonds to a dear friend in The Netherlands for his birthday, along with some smoked salmon. He took the almonds in to work and shared them with his employees. He had to lock his office because the others kept going back for more! The next year, I sent him two bags of orange honey almonds and two packages of smoked salmon. I told him that he could take one bag of almonds to work and leave the other one at home. He called me and said he was NOT taking a bag of almonds to work! Both bags were staying home with him! And he wasn't sharing the salmon, either! LOL

Located in Pike's Market, this is one of two stops for me in the farmers' market section. In fact, this stand drew me to discover where Hickman, California is (http://www.yelp.com/biz/stackhouse-bros-orchards-hickman#hrid:Z1h4bS6ZPyhqUrmOvZVa5g/src:self). Their nuts are great for just munching or gift-giving when you're here. They leave plastic sample containers of the various flavors so that you can match them to your tastebuds. Living in the Bay Area, I thought that I'd easily find it closer to home; unfortunately, this is the only place to satisfy my craving. The almonds are crunchy and crisp, unlike most store bought versions, often flat and soft.Warning: Do not try to eat the Cajun one in one sitting!

My name is Jeff and I'm addicted to Sprouted Almonds. Sure, it's always so nice when they give you the first one free. But then your hooked my friend. I bought my first bag a few weeks ago and I'm already well into my second bag. This is that small table you see with all the free nut and dried fruit samples. All of their nuts are great, but most of them are roasted and covered with a flavoring. What makes the sprouted nuts so different is that the raw nuts are soaked in soy sauce for 24 hours then dried out. This makes them crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. But they also have an intense salty.,meaty soy saucey flavor all through the nut. If you can make a 1 lb bag of these last for more than a week I salute you.

They are at the Santa Monica Farmer's Market on Wednesday, and I am so glad they are there! The Honey Orange caught my eye months ago and I've been hooked ever since. Looking forward to trying some of the other flavors but also sending the almonds to friends in goodie bags!
