What's interesting about Spruce Cafe is that it shares the same location as Chan Seattle restaurant (where we were last night). In the day, the location is Spruce Cafe and in the evening, it is Chan Seattle. At Spruce, they serve a small but varied breakfast menu and the presentation and taste was on point. It's a perfect little place to enjoy an espresso or cappuccino or some OJ while you people watch, do some work, or catch up on the news.

The service was good, the coffee was good I didn't get any refills not sure if it was a per cup cost. The meal was classic breakfast called the classic breakfast. The only true complaint was i was stuck with sourdough bread there was no option, like me wanting wheat toast instead. For a quick Breakfast you can't beat it.

We had a great omelette and eggs Benedict. A great little breakfast while here for a high school tournament. Right across from the Hyatt Regency

We stayed a Saturday night at the Paramount Hotel after a Kraken game. Being a planner, I checked out the Yelp reviews of Spruce Cafe, which looked great. I checked the brunch menu and saw a few items I would've liked to try. Lastly, I checked their hours. I told you I'm a planner! Their website, www.sprucecafeseattle.com, points you to their Facebook, which indicates they are open until 2 pm. Perfect, we had a few other things we wanted to do, so we planned to do those things and eat brunch around noon. We walked in around 11:50 am and the hostess said "Oh, last call for food was 11:45." I've heard of bars staying open after the kitchen closes, but cafes? I thought maybe 5 minutes was negotiable, so I showed her that their Yelp, Google, and Facebook (which they link to from their own website) all say 2 pm, and she said "Oh, yeah, I know, we should change that." It's now been a week and it's still not changed, so I guess they're not in a hurry. Left here hangry, which is a portmanteau of angry & hungry. Just like brunch is a portmanteau of breakfast and LUNCH. You know, lunch, the meal typically eaten around the noon hour? New rule: If you stop serving food before noon, you can't call it lunch or any other word ending in -unch.

Food and atmosphere was OK. I don't think I'd go here again, but I enjoyed the corned beef hash.

We had 4 adults and 3 kids under 10, they got us seated right away. They constantly checked on us and refilled our waters! The breakfast food was amazing! Service was outstanding! Highly recommend eating here!!!

Service was okay, food was not good, crispy over easy eggs, no seasoning at all and very greasy. I got the homemade corned beef hash that came in a bowl with 2 chunks of corned beef laid on top of the roasted potatoes. My husband got the standard breakfast with bacon and sausage, the sausage was the only thing with any flavor and again crispy edged over easy eggs. The mimosas were good. The place was busy but I think that is out of convenience as it is located in the Paramount hotel.

We stopped by this cafe for breakfast over the weekend. The restaurant was busy, but we managed to be seated after a short wait. Staff seemed a bit green working, but they were trying. We ordered a number of items - baked egg, Dungeness crab benedict, a side of sausage, orange juice, Americano and biscoff latte. The Americano and orange juice arrived first followed by the food. The latte was the last to arrive. The timing was a bit off for the drinks. I thoroughly enjoyed the baked egg dish. It was a hearty breakfast with the meat sauce, cheese and eggs. The sourdough bread paired nicely to soak up the flavours. I also enjoyed the biscoff latte. I have not seen it elsewhere before so it was a sweet latte to start off the morning. My toddler enjoyed the orange juice and side of sausage. My husband enjoyed his crab benedict. I took a bite of his meal. There was a good amount of crab meat. The avocado added some richness and creaminess to the benedict. The egg was soft poached as requested and there was a decent amount of hollandaise sauce.Overall, it was a tasty meal to start off the day. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. Staff were helpful when asking for additional cutlery and straws. The restaurant is located inside the Paramount Hotel.

Thank you everyone at Spruce Cafe for making my experience so pleasurable during my stay up here off and on while I was at Harborview. I look forward to seeing and ENJOYING your food again soon.

The Spruce Cafe is on the ground floor of the Paramount Hotel, and a block away from the Camlin, where we were staying. When this location was The Dragonfish, we ate breakfast regularly, so we decided to give the new incarnation a try, and are glad we did.The service was friendly and efficient, the Bloody Mary was tasty, and we enjoyed our brunch. My wife had the french toast, which was gorgeous and huge and, according to her, very good. My classic eggs Benedict was nicely done, with lots of basically seasoned (good by me) fried potatoes. When we return to the Camlin, we will breakfast here again.
