Best. Chicken. Fried. Steak. In. Town.Years ago I found a random small cafe after a drunken night in town and had what I would later declare to be the best chicken fried steak ever. It took me years to find the cafe again, and I came back dreading for my declaration to be proven wrong now that I wasn't plagued by hungover cravings.I am proud to declare that they still have the best chicken fried steak after all these years. Seriously, if you love chicken fried steak do yourself a favor and try this one.

Love this gem!! First time to Tacoma and we were looking for small businesses in the community. I selected this place based on other tellers reviews and of course wanted a try to fresh sauces. This place did not disappoint!! I ordered the blueberry waffle with eggs and toast. My hubby had the breakfast burrito with a short stack and my brother had the breakfast combo. I asked if they had offered any freshly baked pastries. She said the cook "makes this apple and peach cobbler- using the freshest ingredients. In fact he makes all our sauces homemade. He also makes this very delicious peanut butter pie. Very tempting but we went for the peach cobbler. She brought out the cobbler -added whipped cream with a bit of the peach cobbler as well. Oooohhhh mmmyyyy!! So delicious!!! Hard to describe you have to stop in and try it. All our dishes came out and each one of them was off the chart! Waffle was so fluffy and full of berries. My hubby burrito didn't stay on the plate too long. This was a great find and the service was above and beyond. My brother has marked it as "a must come back" place!!

It's still consistently so amazing. Service is always nice and friendly and the portions are just right. I love their dinners so much. Getting a soup or salad, entree, and dessert (of just the size) can't be beat. It's genuinely so hard to choose what to order because all of their meals are so good. Steaks never disappoint nor do their fish and chips. The only thing I would like to see is a dedicated vegetarian option or perhaps one item that could be made vegan.Sure their prices have gone up a little bit but I think they have been under-charging this entire time. It's such a great spot, very small, but still doesn't feel overly cramped. The parking situation is a little weird but that's not their fault.

Not impressed. Randomly closing early and turning patrons away before they close. Not a great business model. Ownership and management should reevaluate how they structure their holiday hours. Nothing listed on google or their social media pages. So easy to get a good review from me but this is just unprofessional. Staff should understand you don't just close a business because you want to leave early on a holiday. Be closed or be open.

Have been coming to this cosy cafe for several years,so that should speak for itself.A friendly environment with the staff being very familiar with their customers.No distractions in this place...if the Seahawks or Mariner's are playing the tv's will be on.No WiFi.So,conversations are in abundance in this fairly quiet restaurant.The portions for some meals can be a bit overwhelming but on certain items like the scrambled,you can get a half order.My meal was probably one of the best I've had here.Everything cooked spot on.Even though I didn't want toast our waitress brought out a small fruit bowl which was a nice surprise.My meal was $15.95.A deal nowadays.Coffee and water were topped up without asking.There are a few seats at the bar(beer and wine)in this family friendly place.Probably max out with six to a table.One restroom. Couple of tables outdoors.Do believe they close at 2pm most days.We'll be back.

Tasty lunch! It's a small restaurant so if it's busy there will probably be a wait. I had a caesar salad with chicken. It was really tasty and the dressing on the salad wasn't too heavy. I'd stop by again for brunch again sometime!

Had the buttermilk biscuits and I think I'm going to be obsessed with them for a while. Quick, efficient and accommodating service. Reminds me of a small town eatery. Great food

It was okay. The service is honestly amazing, but walking out with a $64 tab for two breakfasts with tip is pretty hefty. I've paid a lot less for an amazing breakfast.The food was alright, but it wasn't anything to write home about. It lacked a lot of flavor and was pretty mediocre overall. When we arrived, we were greeted by their friendly staff & we didn't have to wait long even though they were fairly busy. I don't think we'd come back here, but I was glad we tried it at least once.

This is truly a "hidden gem" in Fircrest. The quality of food and service is always 5-Star level. Although my favorite time to dine there is for breakfast, the lunch menu is outstanding as well. (Haven't tried dinner at SLC yet, but friends have pronounced it excellent as well.)

We absolutely love this place. They are only open weekdays for breakfast and lunch now. It's still our favorite place to go for breakfast. Ivy and Fiona take care of their customers with a smile and quick service.
