Spoon Cakes

Layers of many goodness.. in a tin! I'm all for covid openings and this is one of them. Got delivery from this place to my place. There was a little hiccups with delivery. But finally! It was worth a wait. Spoon cake!! Fluffy moist 5 layers chocolate cake!!! Topped with cocoa powder. I didn't think it was gonna be as delicious. But it was so delicious. You have to get all 5 layers together in a bite though. It was perfect! Looking to try out more of their flavors!

Amazing cakes!We usually get a mixer of 3 cakes and they all taste so good! We are actually addicted to these cakes! The first time we got a mixer, we finished it in one day ‍German chocolate - this one is my favorite! I can eat this all day long! All 5 layers are amazing. The cake is pretty moist and the flavor comes through really wellMixed berry - this is my husband's fav. The top layer is berry compote. Goes well with chocolate in contrast. Caramel - this one probably we can skip. Too sweet for our taste buds. Also we are not really caramel fans, but if you like caramel and nuts probably good option.Like I said we are actually addicted to these cakes! The photo only shows the ones we had past couple of months. These are couple more in our fridge :)

Our local foodie group was starting to talk about this new "spoon cake" that everyone was loving - and me being dedicated to the quarantine-20 (as in gaining 20lbs over quarantine) I got online and placed an order with the $5 delivery as I have to combine laziness with eating to fully commit. Within ten minutes I had an email that let me know that I made it in time for a same day delivery and was I interested in getting it within a couple hours. Um, YES! A couple hours later I had a ring at the door and cake in hand. It was before lunch time but was that going to stop me from digging in? NOPE. I got a tutorial of how to eat from my delivery person (use a metal spoon, crack through top, all the way down to get each layer in every bite) and the wife and I dug in (NO JUDGEMENT - pandemic, remember?). Let's just say we planned to only TRY it and put it away, but that went out the window. After forcing ourselves to put it away after a few bites I now find myself sitting here working and wondering what's an acceptable time to go back to it. I mean, it's now lunch time and I'm hungry...so.......TL/DR: Rich chocolate deliciousness that is hard to put down and great customer service - order now.

I was so excited to get a mini spoon cake as one of Pagliacci's community giveaways! They're not overly sweet, but the dark chocolate is rich and well balanced. Then mini size is enough for 1-2 people, but you won't want to share!

We ordered the trio sampler for delivery and this was hands down one of the best dark chocolate cakes we've ever had. The desserts were on the lesser sweeter side which is how I enjoy them the most however that doesn't mean they are any less decadent or delicious. There is five layers of absolute deliciousness. Of the trio, I loved the berry chocolate spoon cake the most. It was very reminiscent of a rich Black Forest gateau for me. I am definitely looking forward to getting them again.

AMAZING! please everybody, if you get a chance to try it, please do. I've never had a cake like this and it still says fresh the next day. The five layer cake is so fresh! Just the right amount of sweetness for a cake. I would definitely come back!!

Very yummy chocolate cake. My husband is never a chocolate person but he loves it too! Excellent customer service is a plus.

This cake is so good! If you like chocolate cake, but think it's usually too sweet and too rich, this is great. It's still rich, but you can just have a few bites at a time. The cake part is less sweet than typical chocolate cakes. All the layers above compliment it well!

I really wanted to love Spoon Cakes. The owner was super kind and accommodating and waited for me to pick up my order after my car broke down.I ordered 10 cakes to bring as a Thanksgiving treat for my family but my partner and I shared one as soon as we got home. We were super excited to try these after having waited so long. We were so, so disappointed to find the cake dry AF. It literally dried out my mouth as I was eating it and I couldn't bring myself to eat more than a couple of bites.We tried another one the next day thinking one of them might have just not turned out well and same deal. We ended up just eating the mousse (which itself was super good and not too sweet) off the top of that one. We were too sad and embarrassed to bring the remaining 8 cakes with us to Thanksgiving. Maybe could have been revived with a milk injection a-la tres leches, but we opted to just worry about them later.I spent almost $200 on 10 cakes ($15/cake plus tip) so I took another one out today to scrape the mousse off the top and that one was... fine. The cake was not AS dry. I imagine it was better a couple of days ago. Seems like the quality was inconsistent between cakes, which seems weird.I can tell the cakes would have been super good had they not been as dry - could be worthwhile if you get a good one. Still, it's not a risk that I'd take again.
