Spice SPC Indian Grocery & Foods

Chicken Tikka Masala & Basmati rice--both made fresh today. I bought the large size, which is enough for two tasty meals and a bargain at $12.12! I'm so pleased to have them in the neighborhood, and I look forward to trying more dishes from their daily menu.

Great selection and so convenient to have a south Asian grocery store in Capitol Hill. The owner is so nice and makes the best chai! The samosas are also delicious here.

Got a personalized tour through this awesome little neighborhood store that has everything you need for a quick meal. The refrigerator and freezer and filled with fun items and there is even fresh produce. It has an East Indian focus ...but there is even ICE CREAM! I picked up some Naan and samosas from the freezer section and was really impressed with the quality of the food. Restaurant worthy (with help from my air fryer)

I got there on a Sunday morning when there should have been weekend foo d service available. They had idli sambar but no coconut chutney? Hey that is highly suspect if you're from South India then you know. They also had palak paneer, freshly made which would be served with rice.I thought the paneer samosa ($5) and the regular potato masala samosa ($3) were very good. Served with a smidgen of tamarind sauce. Lovely little tables set up outside to eat al fresco.The mediocre rating is because the selection of Indian groceries is sparse for the shelf space. The tea selection was low, and the snacks range was limited. On the other hand, the frozen chapatis were remarkably on-point with the right mix of naan/roti/chapati variations (including ajwain and methi rotis). If looking for standard Indian kitchen pantry, it's got all the bases covered. Yes, mango and lime pickles! The fresh vegetables section was neatly arranged and included curry leaves. It was a thoughtful curation, yet it left me wanting because it didn't have the full gamut of teas and options. They could easily cram more selection/stock/inventory in the space they have. It seemed like an upgraded corner store, and if I lived in this neighborhood I would LOVE to have this store with its Indian pantry staples in walking distance. It's a gift! I come all the way from Bainbridge Island to this store and I consider it awesome that I can get from the ferry to here on one bus and get my Indian staples!

Great spot to get spices, Indian food. Plus great service and friendly folks. Hope it stays in the community.

We were so happy when this place opened up, there are lots of things here (spices, snacks, freezer food) that just aren't available at Safeway or QFC, and I'd prefer not to hoof it to Bellevue.I miss little things like bourbon creams and frozen roti from when I lived outside the US, so I was thrilled when this place had both. Last time I checked, the owner is also taking requests, great to see that level of service :) Can't wait to try out the fresh curry and chai!

So happy for walkable grocery options in the neighborhood! Great quick snacks like Peanut Butter Pretzels and Ginger Chews, Frozen Naan, mango lassi, Hibiscus Ginger Beer and lots of other wonderful items to explore. Friendly staff too.
