I lucked up on this spot perusing Uber eats. Very good and I will surely be back to try more dishes. Packaging was phenomenal! Great amount of food for price. The salmon, collards, and Mac were definitely tasty. Not heavy, tasted fresh and made with love. The orange flavor with the salmon was different it was good...salmon skin crispy but delightfully melt in your mouth it was so tender. The dirty rice!! Yassssssss I'm in love! The banana pudding was different. I am still making my mind up about it while eating the majority of it lol. It taste like someone accidentally knocked over the cinnamon seasoning in it and was like hey now work wit it Lol! It's good but I gotta figure out this cinnamon thang going on.

Delivery was just a tad slow, but given weather and other obstacles, I'd call that a win. (Going back next day, their Grubhub page says they don't deliver to my address, I didn't notice that last night. I'll pick up in the future.)The food was magnificent. Had catfish that brought back memories of childhood, second solid win. Finished off with an order of Rose Mary's Peach Cobbler Eggrolls w/ Sweet Praline & Rum Cream Sauce - wish I'd ordered more. Exciting to find a new place and the girls liked their spice combinations. Enthusiastic thumbs up!

Placed my order at 3:46 pm and requested a 5pm pickup. Order was not ready until 5:35 pm.Cajun Fried Chicken sandwich was huge, but the brioche bun was flat as a pancake.I didn't order collard greens, but tried them- sour and salty. Hard passMac & cheese was clotted together and the "melted cheese" on top was a thin skin that peeled off the top (see photo)The Holiday Yams had virtually no flavor. Not sweet at all. Did not even eat half of it.Cheddar Jalapeño Cornbread muffin fit nicely in the palm of my hand. $3?If you order anything and the address is 3517 N. Spulding, BEWARE. It's a black box building with a tiny pickup lobby for half a dozen "restaurants" that have no actual storefront. Will NOT return.

Alright. This is it. My search is over. My wild goose chase as a transplanted southerner in Chicago trying to find grits in this Midwestern winter has come to an end. This was a new place that came up on my Uber Eats. I've had a hard time finding southern inspired food in this city full of amazing food that actually had any heart. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was an easy choice. I was so excited to even see it on a menu up here! Delivery was quick and came still warm. It came packaged neatly but in a cardboard/recycled material type container that probably isn't best for a dish with as much moisture as grits can have, and I moved the dish to a bowl. It was lined with parchment paper to keep it from seeping through which helped, but would have been better packaged in something a little sturdier. HOLY COW when I opened it though it smelled so good. It came with shrimp, andouille sausage, cheddar grits, and some peppers and onions. These are hands down the best grits I've had in Chicago and maybe the best ever (except for my dad's). This was a big portion, filling, and so flavorful. The shrimp were garlicky and delicious and I actually loved the addition of peppers and onions. I immediately recommended Southern Twang to my roommates and I can't wait to order again. Thank you for making this transplanted southerner incredibly happy.

Ordered here for the first time. Everything is amazing! Look at the size of this sandwich. And I got lobster mac and cheese and gumbo, too. Will definitely order again.

The food is decent and expensive. $8 for a small ass banana pudding, $6 for like 4oz of greens. The portions were too small for their price. I had the gumbo which was okay. The roux was thick and not stewed so the texture was a little off. The flavor was decent tho. Girlfriend got catfish po boy which she said was way too salty. Cinnamon beignets would have great potential if the inside was cooked more. Probably won't be having this place again; it's not worth it.Smash or pass? Pass

Let me state that part of my review is based solely off the fact that the employee who was either incompetent or illiterate or both caused me to waste an hour simply because he didn't realize my order was ready & it sat there because of this person. With that aside my problem with the food is it wasn't cheap yet the ingredients in said food was minuscule. The shrimp to bread ration in the po boys are comical & they may be 6 inches in length total. The French fries weren't seasoned leaving them tasteless. The lobster Mac n cheese were okay taste wise but when paired with the sauce tasted delicious but again the lobster is extremely minuscule. The fried peach cobbler was okay as well. In closing I'd stray away from these food "hubs" if possible. I get that it's because of covid but with so many moving parts something's bound to go wrong often & with a premium price on stingy food items I'd like to spend my hard earned dollars elsewhere.

Holy WOWZERS so much flavor and they did the carry out meal through Uber Eats right. The lamb chop was cooked to perfection and the greens and garlic mash paired well. So good!

I get to be the first review! I'm honored. This restaurant really blew my mind with the authentic taste of the south. I came into this meal with a hangover from the surprisingly easy break-up with 2020 and finished with zero hangover and a full, happy belly. The cheese grits with shrimp, andouille sausage and veggies was perfect. Literally can't stop eating it. I'm obsessed. Black eyed peas bc it's New Year's Day and this tradition I follow. Southern Twang offered me the ability to fulfill that tradition. Annie Mae's Souther Collard Greens. WHOOH! Packed with flavor and spice and everything nice. Peach. Cobbler.Eggrolls. Need I say more? Belgium waffle, well my roomate had that one. He liked it. The butter sauce it came with was a nice touch. And it looks pretty! Not pictured: Gulf Shrimp Po-Boy and Gumbo (12 oz) both were gobbled up too quick to get a pic. Do yourself a favor and give Southern Twang a try. Only thing, I would like this new company to be able to use their own delivery service because I don't want them to lose out on money and with these times we can all use some help! If you do order, use Grub Hub.
