Took a chance on going to the South Lake Union Market because I saw someone post some delicious chicken wings from there, only to find out this particular food venue only comes to this location on announcement and they were not there this weekend, so right off the bat I was disappointed. Parking was not bad lots of street parking available within a block of the market. Not sure what the name of the park thats located next to the market, however, the park was really smelly and not very clean. If you come to this market to eat your going to be very disappointed. There were 20 plus booths and less than 5 food booths and the one food venue I did decide to eat from took 20 minutes to prepare and complete my order. The best part of my experience was the live DJ, he played some good music. Safe to say I probably will not go back to this market location unless they add more food booths.

This is one of the better markets around the Puget Sound, and loved that I came on opening day, to see all the excitement! It's located right by the Discovery Center and has closed off roads, where people can walk to all the different vendors and offerings. It's not a huge market, but the range of all the different vendors is what makes this place five stars. There were food trucks, food stands, artisan foods, craft shops, etc... The market has such a good amount of diverse foods and shops, which is what makes me a fan. If you're in search of food - I recommend taking a loop before buying anything because everything looks so yummy, from Indian food to rolled up ice cream to cold brew coffee to lumpia, there is a lot to offer here at the SLU Saturday Market. And the amount of craft shops they have here is impressive! I love seeing many different local artists selling their goods here. There's also some tables and chairs set-up for people to use when eating and relaxing, as well as an informational booth. Plus, they allow dogs here, which, believe it or not - some markets around town prohibit. Meet ya at the SLU Saturday Market this summer!

This market pops up over the weekend and takes up an otherwise useless street. This isn't one of the larger markets you will find in the city, but you will still find all the normal players here. Fresh veggies, locally crafted goods, cheap imported wares, the SLU SM has it all without giving you the appearance of being a swap meet. This is adjacent to Denny Park and at one of the hot crossroads in the city, so plan on walking or biking here for the best chance at not wanting to set your car on fire. Definitely not a market I'm going to go out of my way to just casually shop, but there are a couple vendors there that bring me coming back here versus trying to make it up to the Fremont or UW Markets.Great place to stop at on your way through a weekend in the city, or coming down from your high rise apartment to join the ground populace. Highly recommend, but wish they had more plant based food offerings.

This Saturday market is the best kept secret in SLU! It pops up mid-morning, to serve folks hungry for early lunch or snack, and then inconspicuously disappears right before sun down. I love the variety of vendors at this fair, they range from cuisines from different countries, to different jewelry vendors, humans bakeries, flower vendors and even dog bakeries (yes The Barkery makes it out here!!).Definitely swing by if you are in the area. It's right next to Denny park too so you can snag a grassy spot to enjoy the food and people watch!

It was opening day and it was was worth checking. They had several good trucks, farmer vendors (flowers, jerky, honey, fresh vegetables, and some crafts), clothing, sunglasses, dessert and lemonade vendors. They even had a track which sold dog snacks and treats--this was interesting. The venue is located at Denny Park on 9th Ave N between Denny way and John St. It's family, kid and dog freindly. There were quite a bit of parents with their little kids hanging out but it wasn't too crowded. I was surprised to not see any bums hanging out in the park causing any scenes and talk obnoxiously loud. It's possible the folks organizing this weekly event does a sweep and kicks them out.I tried the Mangosteen Wings (~$9 for 6 pcs)and very much enjoyed it. It had a good crunchy skin, and their garlicky signature sauce with some fresh chilies on top made the wings tasty and scrumptious. The chilies have it just the right amount of spice factor to tickle my palate.Nosh Food Truck was present, which is awesome because I've been wanting to try their fish (cod) and chips. As I was waiting, the other folk's orders came out and I couldn't help but notice how humongous the fish was. It was BIG slab of fish and was literally the length of my forearm (at least a foot long). The fish was lightly battered and was moist oh inside with a good flavors. It came with tartar sauce and a side of pickled minty mushy peas. The flavor reminded me of green chutney sauce used for the naan in the Indian restaurants. The fish was on a bed of fries which was not bad. They were darker in color, moist, and meaty. The dish was worth the $14 bucks I paid for it.For drinks we tried the Vietnamese coffee ($4) from the Hong Kong Fishball stand. It was okay and sweeter than what I'm used to from the Vietnamese restaurants. We also tried a strawberry lemonade with coconut water (~$10) from the Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade stand and it was fresh, fruity, tangy, and coconuty. What neat is they put the drink in a two and a half cup Mason jar with a plastic lid that had a straw hole. It was the perfect drink for the warm weather! My overall experience was good. We hung out for about two and a half hours mainly because my boy was enjoying himself at the small playground. I'd probably come again in a month or two if we didn't have anything planned on a Saturday.

Came by 2 Saturdays later to give this place another chance. Different and slightly BETTER vendors second time around. I actually got a bouquet of fresh flowers for $10 this time and some really really expensive produce (from the only produce vendor there). There was still not much of a selection. There's just one vendor that sells X where as other markets usually have 2+ vendors that sell the same type of X.

I loveeeee this neighborhood food-centric market! It's just about a block long so not at all big but there's a good selection of rotating vendors and food trucks Saturday mornings from 10-3pm. Many (if not all) of them take credit card too which is convenient. So happy I'm able to stroll down here with my dog and try new food for brunch every weekend!

This market was fun! It's only one street long so we went through quickly but we looked at every stand and really liked a lot of things! Technically two streets are closed but there were only a few food trucks on the other side so it seems to have the potential to grow. There was still a nice variety of art, clothing, and we found some really good food spots.Seattle popsicle has some very pretty popsicles on their page but they had some more basic (not so basic) popsicles like Horchata, Chocolate Banana, Coconut Cream, and Rhubarb. I got the Rhubarb and it had a unique sweet flavor. I definitely want to try more at the shop for the full experience. The Shrimp and Grits from Kiss my Grits are a must try! Definitely worth coming back every week for a plate of these! Piroshki on 3rd pops up a lot when I search good food spots in Seattle. I was set on trying a cheese, potato, and beef piroshki. Their piroshkis are hearty and full of flavor. A little bit more seasoning than other ones I've tried but the cheese really takes over and I loved it. It was sunny when we came so we sat on the lawn and enjoyed our lunch. I suggest bringing a blanket or mat but there are a few small tables around too. Dogs are also welcome! They had a DJ who was playing all the hits and it made it so much more lively and fun. It's a good time for everyone!
