Right out of the gate. This place is EXPENSIVE. I mean with a name like Emporium it's kind of expected. I paid $6.99 for raspberries here.... However, I would probably pay $12 for raspberries because this store could literally not be more convenient. You can find anything you need here, yes the brands are fancy brands, but it still beats getting into an Uber or fighting for parking at a grocery store. It's clean, well laid out, and easy AF to shop in. 1-star off because I could get these items cheaper elsewhere but don't.

I don't leave reviews but felt compelled to in this case because the place is NOT 4 stars. Don't go here unless you are buying items with a long shelf life. Buyer beware on produce and anything perishable as items are regularly past expiration date, or even spoiled before expiration.

I think I went here years ago when looking for Ethiopian foods. It still has Ethiopian people (owners?) working there, but it is a fancy American / European store now. It DOES have fresh injera (possibly daily, but always call to ensure that it has been delivered before going), along with Ethiopian essentials like berbere, miten shiro, and mitmita. My three stars reflects my disappointment of not having a better Ethiopian selection. However, if you're looking for a clean and well-kept grocery store with fresh produce and other groceries that will appeal to Americans, and if you don't mind the prices, it's a fine store. It's not very distinguished, but for that neighborhood, it's convenient.

I used to love this market when a man named B made the subs now they just put him on the register I guess because when he didn't made the subs we got our moneys worth now the subs are very depressing very very disappointing I will never come back here again and it's sad because I live just around the corner-They are a rip off and if you order a sub you would not get your moneys They don't even deserve one star

The South End Emporium is like a every other neighborhood bodega on steroids. When we moved to the South End, we used to frequently call ahead here to ask if they carried items we'd forgotten at the grocery store or when running other errands. As we've lived in the area longer, we've stopped doing that because the answer is always the same: "Yes, we have that!" I'm continually impressed with the freshness of the produce and flowers, and the staff is always incredibly friendly. The inside even has a deli for fresh-made sandwiches! Some items are a little bit more expensive here than at chain stores, but I'm more than happy to support a local business. This store is a South End staple for a reason.

The sell berbere, $9.99, for one of those small soup take out containers. Back corner rack across the household items.

This is a small neighborhood market that is so welcoming. Designed so you feel as if you're in a high-scale delicatessen but have the homey feeling that all of your needs are on the shelves.

This is the most amazing neighborhood bodega! We love the emporium. Super friendly, kind staff, great selection and great prices for a neighborhood store. It's truly a gem in the neighborhood.
