Last night, hub bought dinner to go from this wonderful Ukrainian small business-owned restaurant, and when he walked into our kitchen, all of the aromas/spices/flavors made me drool like my dog! Hub had a hankering for bratwurst and his two side dishes were a potato pancake with a cup of applesauce and a tomato and onion salad with homemade dressing. He ate every bite. No room for watermelon. I was in the mood for everything so decided on a #1 variety plate consisting of five pirogies each a different fillings set atop flavorful steamed onions, a filled chicken pie and btw the bread is homemade (all bread of its is homemade), cabbage roll with sauce and a potato pancake. I got too full too soon, so saved the cabbage roll and one pierogi for today. We both immensely enjoyed every bite of our dinners, and it was extra special experiencing something unusual and different and having the food so tastefully prepared. You can dine in or take to go whatever you prefer. Only service animals are allowed in the restaurant, there is no outside seating and the focus here is on its delicious, reasonably priced food, not for the ambiance of a 4-star restaurant. Be assured that it's clean throughout. Personally, food is more important to me than ambience. If the food is excellent it does not matter to me as long as it's clean and no concerns about food poisoning. If you're in the area, give it a try and please remember to pay it forward with a tip!

I would give this spot more than 5 stars if possible! Amazing! The food is beyond delicious and obviously made from scratch with love. They had photos outside with descriptions so for those unfamiliar with Ukrainian food it was easier to choose a dosh. They have combo plates as well as soups, breads, mains, salads etc.The portions are huge so keep that in mind when ordering. We ordered a lot but meant leftovers which pleased me yet another day!The he biggest joy was their honey cake which is absolutely my favorite! It was light, moist and perfectly delicious with layers of yummy goodness. I can hardly explain how much of a craving it filled for me!My favorite of the mains was the borscht which had so much flavor. It was hot and rich and yet full of veggies for the perfect blend.Definitely check out this spot and I'd come back to Arizona just to eat this food! Way to go guys and thanks for all your hard work!

I had this terrible cold and I needed chicken soup. The can was not going to cut it, so I looked elsewhere. Good job DoorDash for having soup and sausage bistro on the list. Their chicken soup was the absolute gold elixir that brought me back to Health. I love that It was packed with veggies as well as tender chicken. I thought it would also be good to get some carb in my life so I got the potato pancakes with both the applesauce and sour cream and it was very good. I also got the honey cake and it was the most moist and fluffy, layered cake that I've had in quite some time. I love the fact that it had a not super sweet cream, which really helped balance the flavor of the cake out. I recommended this spot to 10 people that I've known who've gotten sick and needed a little boost with some solid soup.

Currently having a staycation at a hotel nearby and we saw this place was close by. The interior is modest and nicely decorated for Christmas. Service was chill but prompt. The food was good but not sure if I could say great? I had the sausage plate and one potato cake was burnt. I did really enjoy the tomato salad. The hot sandwich was more of roll with sauce and sausage on top. Flavors were good but overall food was a little dry. The honey cake though was absolutely delicious and our favorite part! The other food looked good I think we just didn't choose the best options. I think the soups may be the way to go instead!!

Dinner with the bf! Second time here and everything was absolutely delicious once again. We dined in. The music was relaxing and the ambience was and quiet and peaceful. There are no tvs anywhere which I love. We ordered the solyanka soup, sausage variety platter, combo 1 with pierogis, potato pancake, stuffed cabbage and stuffed bun. Oh and the kievsky cake. Phenomenal. And it came out fast! Last time we ordered take out and got the borscht with pelmini, cherry ribs and one of the sausage combos. The girls that take the orders at the counter are very sweet. Next time I go, I'm trying one of the beers!

Incredible hidden Gem in North Phoenix. The staff was amazing. When ordering I told them I'd never had Ukrainian food before. After that they checked on me constantly and asked my thoughts on everything I tried. For the food, I loved all of it! I loved that they had Ukrainian beer, it made the meal feel even more authentic. The sausages, cabbage roll, and piergori were my favorite. I could have easily eaten 20 piergoris, they were that good. I didn't know what I was missing by not having Ukrainian food but will not go this long without it again. This is an adorable small business that puts so much love into their food and I will definitely be back.

Phoenix has a Ukrainian restaurant! Who knew? Well, not me... until recently. Now, I'm glad to be in the know!Soup and sausage Bistro has a casual, quick serve model. It seems to be a pretty authentic Eastern European place. I could even hear customers speaking Ukrainian (or, maybe Polish). They even have small Ukrainian flags atop many of the tables. They're even available for purchase for five dollars. The service was attentive. It wasn't long after placing an order that deliciousness arrived. There's no printed menu so customers have to rely on the menu board with small print or scan a QR code on their mobile device. I ordered the Soup and Sausage Plate. It included a sausage link, half order of french fries, soup and fountain drink. (Sour cream is available on request.) Everything was very good. The sausage (I chose fresh, non-spicy) was good, so not as flavorful as expected. The french fries were surprisingly good. They seemed fresh cut, not frozen. The highlight of the meal was definitively the Solyanka soup. It had small bits of light, hearty veggies, sausage, and a light broth. The half slice of lemon provided an extra layer of the flavor. This was homemade goodness! The only drawback was the way too loud instrumental music. I like a bit of ambience, but it was just too much. A small price to pay for a good meal, I suppose.

This place is awesome. Family run, fresh and delicious. Chicken soup was spot on. Pan fried Pierogis were awesome, pillowy potato and onion with a little sour cream. Screaming good. Bratwurst was juicy and delicious as advertised. Try it out. This is really good, hearty food for your soul. I forgot to order the cabbage rolls so I need to go again soon.

We love this place, but live in San Tan Valley so it is a bit of a drive and we don't get here as often as we would like!Every time we have come here, it is clean, and the the people behind the counter are super friendly and helpful. We know what we want to order but I've heard them help other people decide on what to order and explain what the menu items are. Everything is good and we have tried most of the menu. My favorite is the Golubtsi (cabbage rolls) and honestly I can't decide if I like their pork version or beef version better. I even buy enough to bring home for the next few days because my cabbage rolls come out horrendously. LOL. They do offer some of their food frozen as well so you can make it at home at a later date. It is good solid comfort food for my husband and I. The customers are also friendly, and we usually end up having people stop by and talk with us. Personally, I am confident I could order anything off the menu and be happy with it. So far we have had the Borscht, Vareniki (Pierogis), Cabbage rolls (both pork and beef) potato pancakes, stuffed buns (SO GOOD), Olivie, bigos (Hunter stew) , and Pork ribs under cherries. All good.
