Was treated to a Fathers Day dinner by my kids and wife. Wow I am so happy they picked this place.The food was amazing...mostly. The jerk wings were a killer. You only get 4 whole wings but they are tender, full of flavor. The garlic shrimp appetizer is another outstanding appetizer. So much creamy and garlic flavor with bread to soak up the amazing sauce. Mostly cocktails and spirits. No wine . Cocktails were really well done. Not shiny with the good stuff.The entrees were also outstanding. The honey fried chicken was among the top 3 fried chickens I've eaten. Perfectly cooked and moist and tender meat. crispy skin and lightly battered. OMG. I had the dirty rice and way overcooked asparagus. Couldn't eat the asparagus. others had the catfish that looked fabulous and shrimp. They both got good reviews. The mac n cheese were average. They were out of the fried green tomatoes. The food overall was 4.5 stars. Definitely would return for the food.The service was needy. The front of the room needs training on how to attend to guest. No one panned the room when they came in. We had to actually go up to the host to ask him to send our server over. They were pleasant but needed training. Also the music was so loud we had to shout to talk. We asked them to turn it down and they didn't. So maybe 3 stars for the front end.

What a cute, intimate creole, soul food spot on the city's West Side! We were seated slightly before our reservation. There's so much to choose from. The food and drinks came out very quickly. The staff was so kind and gentle with my daughter. They played a birthday song and the entire restaurant sang to her. It felt like a family reunion. No one was a stranger!

Let me be clear... the food is delicious and I won't waste words on prices because the price is the price but the service needs help. I'm not one to EVERRRRRR go in the direction of the service should look like what is received at Catch 35 or other establishments and I recognize the difficulties in finding quality/qualified servers at this time. Yes, I will return but my expectations have been level set much lower. Here's the landscape of how it went on my visit. Entering, the individual that was seemingly charged with "greeting" never really performed that activity. Had I not taken the initiative and been assertive I'd probably still be waiting to be greeted. We were early and went to the bar... now those bartenders were superb... and personable... but while we were standing there someone started sweeping ‍ now after our drink I went back to the check in station to check in and the person that was ultimately our waitress was there assured me things were being arranged for us ... said it would be a few moments and the other lady returned but the two of them NEVER talked therefore we waited longer and a party after us was seated. I returned to the station a 3rd time and then we were seated. The water was bought by the busboy which is fine but he could've assured us our waitress would be with us shortly. She comes on the heels of him leaving... asks for our order (but we had just sat down) never introduced herself (we asked her for her name), told her we needed more time to which her response should've been would you like an appetizer, etc. We ordered appetizers... which the busboy delivered & said I'll bring you some plates... he walks off .. she comes by and says I'll bring plates and neither ever bring plates. We ate from the appetizer plate then she returns and we place orders. There were 3 of us and all our meals were delivered separately... meaning at different times. Never were we asked if we needed anything additional. To be clear... will we return? Yes. Great service is nothing more than a great symphony or well executed play with all the players/musicians doing their part well. This ain't that but I'm rooting for us.. always. While I also recognize the requirement for reservations is smart, improving service and expediting will increase efficiency and table turnover which should lead to more profits.

Better bring a jacket because it's so cold and the music loud. When we first walked in the hostess was all on his phone and continued to be on his phone while serving. Walking in and out of the restaurant to talk on the phone. The salmon bites were pretty good, a little overcooked. Whatever the lambs were glazed with was not good. Like the sauce flavor and the seasoning on the lambs don't blend. It was tasting weird. But the chops were meaty and tender. The sweet potatoes were really the best thing. Wasn't really a fan of the greens. The sauce on the shrimp and grits was surprisingly very sweet. I'm not sure whats up with that. I actually would come back and try something else on the menu. Oh sidenote: can yall update the menu prices online, thanks.

This was a very nice place, with good customer service. Is so cute and quaint and the food was on point. Pasta was delicious, lamb chops marinated, catfish cooked to perfection. A must try if u r in the Chicago area. The next time I'm in Chi town, I must come again.

Finally! I have experienced Soulé Chicago! I first heard about this restaurant about 5 years ago, but it was news about the West Town location on 1931 W. Chicago Avenue. All good news, except the lack of parking, which kept me from venturing out to taste the great soul food from this boutique restaurant. In late October 2022, the owner, Bridgette Flagg, opened a second location in North Lawndale. To celebrate my mom's birthday, I took a 1/2 day PTO, and made an afternoon reservation.First of all, because it was a weekday afternoon, there was plenty of parking and available tables. The patrons ahead of me had made reservations too. The interior design is welcoming, spacious and has a very sleek vibe. All the food was very delicious and with nice size portions. We got the BBQ Jerk Chicken Wings, Fried Green Tomatoes, Honey Drizzled Fried Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Collard Greens, and Sweet Potatoes. There were only two things that were disappointing and that could just be because of my own preferences.First, there was the non-alcoholic version of the Soulé Punch. I asked the server what was it made of, and they specifically told me that it was the mixture of the lemonade, fruit punch, and sweet tea. Well, when I tasted it, I swear I was drinking weak strawberry kool-aid. There was no "umph" to the drink... no ginger beer added, no frozen fruit - nothing to make you think, "this great drink is matching my great meal I'm smacking on!" Second, I took home a dessert, because I was full. I asked for the Warm Butter Pound Cake with Rum Drizzle. Normally, if I was to have eaten this in the restaurant, I would have added the scoop of vanilla ice cream that comes with, but I opted out. However, when I got home, the slice I received was so small. Thankfully, I had checked my receipt and learned that I hadn't been charge at all, which it's normally $11 - thank God! But let me tell you, that slice that I did have - I enjoyed every single crumb!This restaurant is a shiny bright light for the North Lawndale community. I really hope that it does well and continues to prosper, as well as bring more great businesses to the area.

Food was delicious, service was a solid 3.8/5, and the vibes were nice. The flavors in the pasta were rich and the salmon was cooked perfectly. The restaurant wasn't too busy for it to be a Sunday night, but I'd still recommend a reservation, and the drinks were really good as well! I would definitely visit again.

Stopped by after work and found a decent sized crowd, not crowded at all but was told the weekends are crazy.I loved the grown and sexy vibe ... old school R&B at the right volume so you didn't have to shout to have a conversation. The drinks were on point ... which was the best part of the meal. The jerk wings had favor but far from a good jerk taste. The catfish was ok, same for the bed of dirty rice.I would definitely come back to chill and hang out but maybe not exclusively for dinner.

The food wasn't good at all I had 3 lam chops and Mac and cheese and yams my hubby had fried chicken which was dry. service was ok but I'll never go there again

2nd time here I am from California, when I say this place is bomb I mean it!! The food is very delicious, the vibe is going, they moved into a very beautiful location I'm so happy for them There was a candle going in the restroom that smelled so good, our server was A1, don't sleep on this place!!
