Located in the vibrant RoRo or NoDo area of Phoenix, Sottise Restaurant invites patrons on a culinary journey reminiscent of a Parisian cafe or the cozy kitchens of the French countryside. From the perfectly executed Bijou cocktail, blending gin, vermouth, and green chartreuse with exquisite balance, to the meticulously crafted small plates, Sottise pays homage to French classics with a modern twist. Their menu, steeped in traditional flavors enhanced by armagnac, calvados, and cognac, showcases Old World techniques such as curing, fermenting, and pickling to elevate each dish. Our indulgence in seven small plate selections, including fresh baguette, deviled eggs, tartare de boeuf, little gems, roasted beets, scallop Crudo, and oysters steak tartare, left us enamored with every bite. Without reservation, I wholeheartedly recommend Sottise for an exceptional dining experience that seamlessly marries French culinary heritage with innovative flair.

VIBES: 5/5FOOD: 3.5/5SERVICE: 2/5VALUE: 3/5The oyster tartare was delicious. Everything else was very meh, and I'm a girlie of value and vibes. The vibes were great. Very French/European. Even the toilet felt European. The presentation of my sparkling water was great. The vibes were vibing. Aside from the oysters, the food was all a bit underwhelming considering the price point. And our service was unfortunate. Nice staff, but I felt they were quite inattentive. I'd go back for the vibes--probably order a cocktail and the oysters, but there are a lot of other places I'd try first.

As I passed through Phoenix on a very lengthy roadtrip, I really wanted to have a special meal. Sottise was such a great choice. The restaurant is in an old historic home, which really adds so much to the charm. The staff was very friendly and attentive. And the food? Incredible. This spot is absolutely worth going out of your way to try. All the food is great, but make sure not to pass up the deviled eggs. They are amazing.

This restaurant is a dream! The whole vibe was perfect. It was so calm and cozy and felt really intimate. You can tell that they really thought out how to make someone feel while walking in here. I had a French 75, the pea and mint soup, oysters with tartare and the beef tartare. It was all absolutely incredible and I keep thinking about it! I'm from out of town and wish I could go back again. The service was amazing as well! My waiter was very personable and gave wonderful recommendations.

Everything about Sottise was amazing, the food, the service, and the ambiance. It was truly an intimate and romantic experience for Valentine's Day.For Valentine's day, there was a prefixe menu of Fruits de mar, half a bottle of champagne, a choice between the endive salad and onion soup, a beef tenderloin filet, and a choice of dessert. Everything was beyond fantastic and was only $214 per couple which allowed for adding whatever else on that you liked him the a la carte menu. There is truly absolutely nothing bad I can say about Sottise, as it was perfect! I cannot wait to come back, this is going to be our new intimate dinner date spot!

Pre-meal: Street parking. Reservations recommended.Room: It's a cozy little house. Tables are small and round like a French cafe. Chairs are rattan and not the most comfortable. Noisy in a good way.Beverages: Excellent cocktail program with some surprises. A few thoughtfully curated French wines. There's even a Chartreuse list!Food: French classics. Our star of the night was the cider-brined pork tomahawk chop. This impressive bone-in chop includes a large piece of belly meat still attached to the bone. And the accompanying cassoulet beans were also quite good. OMG that chop was delicious! The 5-spice duck breast was also outstanding, interestingly served on a bed of hazelnuts. The escargot pasta was not as successful; it was a gloppy unfocused mess. The house made baguette was needed but not the best.Service: Very attentive and friendly.Price: Moderately expensive.Value: Good.Summary: Well-executed French food with a few twists.

I have been here several times. I do like the vibe and the food. I didn't mind the price since we had had good experiences. Sadly the last experience was disappointing. It took a long time to get our order in, to get dishes, drinks, you name it. We talked to multiple staff about the service and it went in one ear and out the other. I even messaged the restaurant privately and they are yet to respond. It's a bummer that the service has changed. I would say if you are look for good food and drink this is the right place, but if you are looking for the service to match it, this is not it. I can understand having an off day but not even acknowledging it or doing something to make up for rubbed me the wrong way. Also, I do find it a bit tacky to have to buy a baguette to go with escargot and tartare. I feel like both dishes need to be accompanied by bread at least for the escargot.

Lovely French cuisine with a backdrop of jazzy beats. They had perfectly crafted cocktails, a fantastic wine menu and a DJ with impeccable taste, plus the music level was just right for maintaining conversation. Perfect for a nice date night! Make reservations if you want to sit inside, but the covered patio looks perfect for more temperate days. I also noticed that there is a bar area with some open seating, so maybe you can get sat immediately if you are dropping in alone or with one other friend. You could circle the block hoping for street parking, but I wouldn't bother. There is a parking lot with $3/hr meter on corner of Moreland and 2nd.

If you are scrolling reviews looking for a reason to come here then do yourself a favor and close the yelp app, go to the sottise website, and make yourself a reservation. This place is nothing short of spectacular. Nestled inside of an old house in downtown Phoenix (like cibo) the space is small but intimate. Inside there are a few tables and a beautiful bar. Outside there is a sprawling patio that would be perfect during the winter months. They have a top-of-the-line stereo set-up and are always playing unique vinyl records. The food is fantastic. I would definitely recommend ordering multiple plates and sharing between your party. We got 7 dishes between the 2 of us and split everything. We had no complaints, and everything delivered. The waiters are very knowledgeable and can help you with ordering if you'd like. The cocktail selection is great, but the wine list is the real winner here. Besides, what would French food be without wine? This place is perfect for any occasion and would recommend it to everyone.

Probably the most French restaurant in the Phoenix area. Food was good and tasty. It's not cheap, but quality food and service comes at a price. The only negative I have is that the mist was a bit strong and it sort of got on the food and drinks. I asked them to turn it down and they did. The other guests appreciated that, too.
