We had impeccable service. I think we had a waiter assigned just to our table because there were eight of us. After he gave us all menus. He went through the entire menu. I don't know how he remembered it all. They kept our glasses full so someone was always watching the table.I started with six oysters followed by a veal chop. The oysters had cucumber mignonette on them rather than cocktail sauce. The veal chop was nice and tender, medium rare just like I like it. We had kale and mushrooms as sides. We really did not need them with the size of the portions. There were high ceiling, curtains to keep down the noise. Perfect for conversation. The parking is non-existent. I took an Uber so I'm would not have to deal with a car.

Sorellina is worth all the hype and praise for the menu and ambiance. If there is a drawback, it's that the menu carries a price point that is at the top of most Boston restaurants. The food is totally worth the price, but some will scoff that Italian food should not have the same price as a steakhouse, which the decor is reminiscent of.When you use the best ingredients and the execution is near-perfect the price is indeed justified and on point. The service is also impressive without being smothering or absent. While a special occasion type of place, it warrants all the buzz and accolades collected over the years. Definitely adding to the rotation of special places in Boston

Nice setting, comfortable seating and space, very good food, all was pretty solid. Except the service came up short. We had a great server, fun, smart, etc., and she did great for the first part of the meal and then boom, gone, disappeared, never saw her. Not sure what happened, she had a lot of big group tables that maybe took most of her attention. But at these prices (~$220/head) you should never feel lonely wondering if anyone is ever going to come back.

We are regulars here. Recent experience hasn't been great. Today is terrible - I was judged and forced to leave tips. The waitress (Angelica G.) handed me the check, and I left my credit card as usual. Then she said to me - do you want to leave tips? It's not included in the price - pointing to three boxes of tip amount to choose from and handing me back the pen to circle one. She talked as if I don't understand the tipping system and she was so afraid that I am just gonna walk without leaving anything. I felt coerced and circled the tip. I also thought this may be the new policy now that you have to choose tip up front - it's not, she came back with the pay slip with the tip amount written by her (based on what I was coerced to choose) for me to sign. I don't know if this is how employees are trained these days at Sorellina or what. But it made really uncomfortable, and it just felt wrong.

Booked a reservation here for my parents' anniversary dinner on a Sunday evening and I'd say it was a sub-par experience. We got seated fairly quick since we had a reservation and our waitress came by within the first 10 minutes to take our order except we weren't ready. She then didn't come by again until around 25-30 minutes after that. It was actually super frustrating because we also didn't see her walking around and couldn't flag her down. Finally, she came by and took our orders. About 10 minutes later, she comes back and asks us for our orders again, presumably because she forgot. Our orders didn't arrive until probably another 30 minutes after that interaction. We ordered truffle fries, maccheroncelli, lumache, gnocchi, ribeye, roasted mushrooms, and tiramisu for dessert. Truffle fries were great. Maccheroncelli was very underwhelming and I actually prefer store-bought meatballs to the ones in this dish. Lumache was too al dente for me personally but the bolognese with bone marrow butter was well done. Gnocchi was good and had a decent amount of lobster chunks although the dish was small for the price. Ribeye could've been plated better as it was just individually placed on a plate with two quarters of a tomato on a separate plate as accompaniment. A dollop of mashed potatoes would be a better combo. Roasted mushrooms were delicious to me but not worth the price tag. Dessert was tasty but nothing extraordinary.Overall, whole experience was just very meh. I booked this place because it had a lot of great reviews on Yelp and I was trying to find someplace special to take my parents but I was generally pretty disappointed. I would personally not come back again. The two stars is for the truffle fries, gnocchi, and the classy interior. If you do decide to visit, note that valet parking is another $30.

Yum! I usually stick to moderately-priced restaurants but came here for a special occasion, and it did not disappoint! For starters, we ordered the arugula salad and polpo (octopus). The salad was refreshing and light, and the octopus was tender and well-seasoned. For the main, I ordered the lumache. Best bolognese dish I ever had, it was so rich! Not sure what the secret ingredient was, but my hunch is that it's the bone marrow butter.Service and ambience were impeccable, 10/10 would recommend for a special dinner.

This was the best meal I've had in a while, and I eat out a lot!My coworker and I went for dinner on a Wednesday. (You definitely need a reservation, even on a Wednesday at 6pm.) I had the pulpo appetizer with squid ink cous cous, lobster gnocchi, eggplant side, and scallops. I've never had octopus like the pulpo dish. It was amazing! The lobster gnocchi was the absolute star of my meal. My coworker and I split it, and I highly recommend doing the same. It is very rich. I can't imagine eating a whole plate of it, but splitting it was perfect. It was absolutely incredible. The eggplant side was unlike any eggplant I've ever had. It was like a bite sized lasagna with eggplant noodles. Outstanding! The scallops were perfectly buttery with a great crust on the outside and soft inside.Come here!

TLDR: The best Italian restaurant I've been to in Boston. Stunning venue, elegant tableware, impeccable service, and DELICIOUS FOOD. Get the lobster gnocchi, ribeye, and milanese. I will 100% be coming back here. -----FOOD:1. [MUST TRY] GNOCCHI (5/5) - The butter sauce is to die for, the gnocchi was so smooth with the perfect bite, and the lobster was the perfect addition (plus a good amount of lobster in this dish). You have to get this.2. [MUST TRY] RIBEYE (5/5) - Steak cooked perfectly, but the sauce was pretty unique with a nice sweetness that pleasantly surprised me and paired perfectly with a nice dollop of whipped potatoes on the side. Huge portion.3. [MUST TRY] Milanese (5/5) - First time having it, it's like the Italian veal version of a schnitzel, and I was in love. It was breaded and fried perfectly without too much residual oil. It had a LOVELY citrus tang too. Huge portion.4. POLPO (5/5) - Delicious octopus dish with the chewy octopus, the nice addition of the couscous, and the freshness of the cherry tomatoes. Also a really nice serving -- could have it as your main!5. Salmon (5/5) - I didn't personally have this but the fish lover of our group had it and said it was one of the best salmon dishes he has ever had. Extremely high praise coming from him. 6. Romaine (Ceasar) (5/5) - One of the best ceasar salads we've ever had, not slathered in dressing (perfectly dressed), had a really nice acidity too, cool "crouton" 7. Cioccolato (Chocolate lava cake) (5/5) - Absolutely delicious without the lava being so melty that it spills everywhere and you don't even get to eat it. This isn't anything special but it sure is delicious. 4 people could each have a spoon of this.8. Sides (4.5/5) - We got the mushrooms and broccoli rabe sides which were all table favorites. 9. Tiramisu (4/5) - Unlike a lot of other tiramisus I've had. Creamy vs cakey. Has full espresso beans which was a nice touch but I personally wasn't a fan of the mint on top. Another member of our party LOVED it. 6 people could each have a spoon of this.10. Mafaldine (3.5/5) - This is the mushroom pasta. I've read positive reviews of this dish but it didn't quite meet expectations. I thought the pasta shells were too al dente, and the cheese on top overwhelmed the flavor of the mushrooms and butter. -----ENVIRONMENT (5/5):- Stunning. High ceilings, gorgeous wine wall that we got to sit next to, even the bathrooms felt upscale!- Does not have a private room but does have several sister restaurants in Boston that do-----SERVICE (5/5):- Impeccable. Our servers were always checking in on us with amazing attitudes, nothing took too long to come out for our table of 6, they would always scrape any food off the table for us (even when the night got busy -- I've never been to a place that has done it so many times). - We were so happy with everything. We also requested a quiet table on the side two days before and they were able to accommodate

Food was great, service was very professional. Recommended for fine dining.Salmon tartare: fresh raw salmon with caviar. The quality was excellent with the right amount of spice.Mafaldine: great flavor with mushroom but bit watery. Still the paste was well cooked with good texture. Truffle fries: truffle seasoning was strong enough, and crispy with parmesan cheese.
