Food was great. Environment...great. Service..amazing! However, there was one wrinkle with my experience here. The owner, an older gentleman, really rubbed me the wrong way. First off, he smelled like cheese. But not the good Colby Jack cheese you get on sale at Costco. I'm talking that high, stinky cheese that is 9 days past its expiration date. He didn't say hi to me, as I waved both hands overhead. I then proceeded to stand up to use the restroom and passed him as he left the men's room. I walk into the men's room, and to my surprise, the worst stench is coming from the big stall. It was the owners stall. Overall, I'm still giving this establishment a 4 stars. But, I am giving the owner a 1 star, and his bathroom business a 0.5 star. Have a great day!

Stumbled in here walking by and I was so pleased! Surprisingly empty on a Sunday afternoon, I decided to have a caeser salad. The salad was big! Dressing was unique, flavorful and fresh- probably one of my favorite Caesar's I've had in a long time! Grilled sourdough was great and the iced tea was above the average kind you get at a restaurant! Service was great. Ambiance is nice however I wish the had more outdoor seating as the indoor area is a little dark for my taste. Will return!

Came in a group of 6, asked to have it be separate checks. Manager came over to say that each table can only have the check split into 4 separate checks at the most per table. Okayyyyyyyy never had that happen before. But l guess there's a first for everything. I ordered the mac n cheese. It was creamy and has good reviews but it lacked flavor. I had ordered it with bacon and broccoli but salted it probably 4 times. I also don't need a ton of salt in my food but my friend had a bite after l initially salted it and said it was bland. Salting it further really didn't help, sadly. Friend had the salmon with chimichurri. Said it was delicious. I don't eat seafood but l did try the chimichurri and it was in fact very tasty! We went to celebrate my friend's bday and she ordered their cookie. The first thing we noticed was it has sesame seeds on top but that isn't noted in their menu at all! I have another friend who is allergic to sesame so not disclosing that in this day and age seems crazy. The cookie itself is cold, hard, dry and topped with ice cream. Overall, not great. Our server was good and attentive. Probably the only positive here. When we went to pay, one of our friends gave cash and the server said cash wasn't accepted here. I didn't think that was legal. But found it very odd the restaurant wouldn't want to cut down on their cc fees. We surmised that with the inflated prices, those cc fees were added onto the cost of the food. We won't be back. Food was meh, service was good, but policies here make this a hard pass for us in the future.

This gem in Solana Beach offers a relaxed atmosphere with great food and drinks. I highly recommend the hummus plate with so many flavors and textures. They make the hummus from scratch h in house and the plate comes loaded with veggies for dipping. We also had the roasted cauliflower which was another great dipper for the hummus. The staff is attentive but not pushy. Looking forward to going back for more homemade dishes and live music!

Great food and ambiance. Good portions, strong drinks and pretty good service. We went in early, so we got the bartender as our server, so at times, it took a little longer than we would have liked. Saw the other servers were attentive to their table. We had a great lunch and would go back to try some of their salads that look amazing.

A couple of weeks ago on a Thursday evening in December, my friend and I finished an art class in the Cedros District of Solana Beach. We were a bit hungry and wanted some wine, so we looked on the Yelp App to find somewhere to go. We saw that the Solana Beach Kitchen was a short walk away, and one of the only restaurants in the area still open. Anyway, we started the walk and on the way, I called the restaurant to ensure they were still serving food. They told me that the kitchen closed in half an hour and the. bar closed in an hour.... perfect! I looked up from the phone call and we were already there. We were welcomed and offered to sit in the bar. We grabbed a seat and a server walked up and told us that the kitchen was closing and they only had entrees. I told them that literally two minutes ago I had spoken to someone on the phone, and was told the kitchen would be opened for half an hour. I was told "They were misinformed". That was pretty annoying. I can understand a misunderstanding, but I would have preferred, "I'm so sorry, we just didn't realize....". Anyway, we were there so we decided to split an entree and get a couple glasses of wine. I would have ordered the Austin Hope Cabernet, but at $20 per glass, which it really too much. So we both ordered glasses of Pinot Noir. We also told them we would split the shrimp pasta. The wine came out quickly. The pasta also came out quickly. It was a bowl with shrimp and pasta in a cream sauce. They then gave us an extra plate to split it. It was such a mess to put half the pasta on the plate with a cream sauce. It splattered and was not very pretty during this process. We had been very clear that we were splitting it, and since they only were serving entrees, they certainly could have split it in the kitchen to save us the awkward mess. There are some good parts. It is a clean and spacious area, and despite the issues, the shrimp pasta was delicious. Our primary server was very friendly. Maybe if you do not come at night and you don't split a dish, this might be a good place. As for me, I will not return.

The food was tasty! We ordered the Brisket Dinner, The Classic burger, and beers. Brisket Dinner was delicious and portion was large. We happened to come on Trivia night so ended staying a couple hours. The service is what brings this rating down. Our server was incredibly RUDE!! I believe it all started when I witnessed her yell at her fellow server and it set her off. She pressured us into to buying another round of drinks because we were staying for trivia night, which I find interesting considering we ordered a large amount (not to mention we ordered the most expensive item on the menu) and there was nobody coming into the restaurant which was closing soon. Finally, she made it very difficult to split the check in 2 and snapped at us when we tried to explain how to split it. I understand this might have been a tough day for her but not sure why we were her punching bag.
