I was craving some boat noodles and this place really hit the spot. I ordered their maximum spicy and it was sufficiently spicy for spicy food lovers. All of the meat was nice and tender - and the noodles perfectly cooked with excellent texture. The broth was excellent (though a bit thin compared to your usual boat noodles). The thai iced tea with boba was also great - the boba had a great chewy and wasn't very soggy. The location was modern and felt a bit upscale (though the prices are affordable): I came in after going on a run and felt pretty under dressed. The service was also excellent: very kind and frequently came over to refill water. The food order is also sent to the kitchen really quickly: I had misspoken and ordered the wrong dish - and the waiter needed to quickly run over to the kitchen to stop the order. The boat noodles arrived to my table quickly, reflecting that prompt kitchen turnaround time. Overall, I'd highly recommend this location to everyone. The main critique I had was that the background music was playing Charlie Puth's "We Don't Talk Anymore" on repeat. It's possibly I came at an hour where the music settings were messed up.

I came here after going to Azucar (they did not have what I wanted for a sweet treat) and I was starving. It seems like they have 2 areas. One a fancy looking dine in and the other a walk in and grab your food, few tables side.I went into the less fancy side. No one was at the register so I had to wait a few for someone to come out and order. I ordered my food and waited for it to be ready. It came out pretty quickly. I took it to go.I got spicy fried rice with chicken. It was expensive. $17.19 (with tax). Other thai places I go to it is about $14-15 for the same size portion. The spiciness was there but it felt like the spiciness was on top of the rice and not part of it? I don't know it is hard to describe. I also feel like there as not a good amount of chicken or veggies for what I paid.I would not go out of my way to eat here again (it is a trek from where I live) but if I found myself in the area with someone who wanted Thai I would eat here again.

The excitement I had walking in was surely gone once I approached and dealt with the lady at the cashier (black mid length hair). She was rude and unfriendly. I always come in businesses with kindness and I show a lot of grace and thanks you for their time. This lady could care less. I tipped even though it was take out cause I hope it goes to the cooks not this rude lady. The young male who seemed to be helping her was very sweet, it was just the cashier lady that ruined it for me. The food was decent but way to over priced - they charge for every thing. Chicken $1-2, only tofu is free with an entree.... Doesn't make sense. Normally shrimp or something along those lines are extra. Also their drinks, boba is extra... never makes sense when people typically on average I'd say majority of people who order drinks are ordering for the boba. I'd skip the drink, boba had no flavor and it was not fresh boba. The rude lady pulled out boba from underneath the cashier .... Odd. Also the drink is made with mostly ice so you pay $6 for ice, what a rip off. The cashew nut chicken was tasty that's the only good thing I can say but portion is small for the prices they charge! Overall:Rude cashier - I hope not everyone is like her. I won't be coming back just because of her. I don't bring business to places that are rude. Idk if the food is decent or good. Food- decent but overpriced Drinks- not worth it; it's mostly ice and boba has no flavorManagement please ask that lady at the cashier with black mid length hair to be more friendly, get off her phone, stop texting and don't make customers feel like they are bothering her. The place was empty when I came.

Food is great, but just a heads up, if you order online for to-go, it suggests a tip price calculated on the amount of the food+tax, not the subtotal of just the food as it should be. I am not sure what the receipts look like for dine in. I thought I would mention it.

This review is only regarding the level of spice. My family has been ordering take out from here since it's opened. Most of the time I select medium or no spice but sometimes the dish comes out spicy which is fine for me but my kids can't handle the spice level. Today I ordered the drunken noodles and they were extremely spicy, my kids definitely could not eat it. You can see I ordered medium spice but I got extremely spicy. Waste of $20.

Back again! My mom and I went back here and it was as good as ever. We got the regular (non-vegan) thai tea and it was delicious. My mom got the Ramen Tom Yum and it had a good flavor and lots of well made dumplings filled with chicken. I got the mussaman curry again and I loved it, like usual.

I had a craving for Thai food so my brother took me here for lunch. They had one door for pickup/orders and one door for dine-in! That was interesting, but a cool way to separate the space to ensure it doesn't get overcrowded. The place was beautiful-- and such a contrast to Ocean Beach vibes. The interior of the restaurant felt modern and upscale (a bit). The marbled tables, wooden interior decor, and pretty fake lavender plants on each table worked nicely together. It gave a clean and well-put-together atmosphere. Right upon walking in we were greeted by the Hostess who had a lovely bright smile on her face. She was so nice and throughout the lunch, she checked up on us to ensure the food was ok and refilled our waters. There's no outdoor seating--- *that I know of! But they have plenty of indoor seats in my opinion. They can seat lots of pairs, groups of 4, and more. Right as we sat down in our chairs, the hostess promptly filled up our water glasses. The menus were laminated and thick, it was clean and had a good weight to them. It was double-sided and well-structured.For lunch, my brother and I decided to order the appetizer of Chicken Wings. The chicken wings were wonderfully fried and crunchy. It came out piping hot and nicely seasoned (not overly salty as most places tend to do it). The sauce on the side was sweet & sour, but the look of it reminded me of a syrupy fish sauce! To drink, my brother ordered the Vegan Thai Iced Coffee & I had the 'regular' Thai Iced Coffee. The glasses were tall and sturdy. The drink was beautifully layered with the perfect amount of ice. It tasted strong and smooth. I liked the super thin long straws that were given with the drink. Then to eat I ordered the "Drunken Noodles" with tofu. The drunken noodles consist of wide rice noodles with bell pepper, onion, egg, carrot, and basil in homemade sauce. I loved how saucy it was. The bell peppers had a good crunch to them while still being cooked down. The carrots were a really cute shape and I did get a few bits of basil which was a delightful addition. I was pleasantly surprised about the tofu because it was fried before being mixed into the dish. The goldenness of it grasped the sauce nicely. I would get this again. The bowl was an asymmetrical dish and it made it seem as though it was a small amount-- but in reality, it was a LOT. I think these plates are made for sharing. My brother ate the "Mongolian Style- Wok Classic" with beef and white rice. They gave a great portion that came out steaming! It smelled so good and my brother said it tasted great as well. Overall, we had a great time here at Social Thai Kitchen. The staff here were the absolute sweetest and made us feel like family! (IMO). The food was tasty and fulfilling and the restaurant was clean and peaceful. I would come back again! Hopefully, if you're in Ocean Beach, you'll make your way out of the boardwalk area and head here for some delicious food.

I could not understand this getting under 5 star ratings. When you're in OB but you need something that isn't crowded, but not out of the way, has great food and service, this is it. I'm tempted to call it a hidden gem but fear if I do, everyone will know about it now. The business has two halves, dine in and take out. Both seem equally busy. The best part about the dine in is that it's so quiet and peaceful. The would could be going to hell outside but you'd never know it in there. A very calm, quiet atmosphere before you head out into OB again. While everyone else fights for parking blocks away, I've always managed to park in the back without issues. I can't say which dish I recommend more than others because I've only come here four times, only to say that everything's good and carefully crafted. This kitchen doesn't make mistakes.

We were a party of 4 with 2 young kids and were seated immediately on a Sunday evening. The place filled up fast and now that we've dined here I'm not surprised. We ordered chicken satay, lard na with tofu, red curry with shrimp and the basa in a ginger sauce. The basa was hands down the best fish I've had at a Thai restaurant. It was the perfect consistency with the ginger providing mild interest and mushroom balancing the flavors. The red curry was good-- could've used a little more coconut milk but still fresh and satisfying.Chicken satay had clearly been marinated for a good amount of time and cooked to perfection. Rad na was the perfect consistency as well.Highly recommend-- we will definitely come back if we are ever in the area.
