Hubby and I just had dinner at the new restaurant up at the Mukleshoot Casino "Smoke & Cedar Steakhouse". Going to give my honest opinion. We truly weren't impressed and I know they are new and have much to learn about fine dining especially when it comes to some of the BEST BEEF in the world - "Wagyu A5" meat ... which they are charging $35.00 an ounce ... we ordered some and it was way over cooked plus extremely fatty and overcooked. Plus we ordered some 45 day dry-aged New York Strip. It was way over cooked and charbroiled. The waitress didn't even asked how we wanted our steaks cooked. We had a chat with the manager about all of it .. and she agreed they have some kinks to work out. If you aren't prepared to spend $250 per person ... then this might not be your restaurant of choice. We will go back in a few months though to give them another try. The views are spectacular from the roof top though. Mukleshoot Casino

Food: 4/5 GoodService: 3/5 OkayAmbiance: 3/5 Cozy and Eclectic, but a bit dirty. The whole experience was ok, with a few pitfalls. The food was good, but certainly not worth the price. The service fell far short of the goal to be the "best steakhouse in the northwest." While the server was attentive, she was annoyingly so. I think my tipping point was being lectured on how sharp the custom made knives were. I am an adult, I understand how to use cutlery and it was the most condescending thing any server has ever had the audacity to say to me more than once. It's like she expected me to literally ignore basic common sense. I admit, that my expectations are based on eating at a lot of fine dinning establishments but also on my own family and their experience in the service industry. I grew up with my father managing a few very fine restaurants in the Seattle area and so I have heard what his estimations on good service look like all my life. It felt almost like the server was attempting something and attempting it well, but just not quite hitting the right notes. Like an amateur singing Mariah Carey at Christmas time, a good try, but they just aren't a professional. Like going to a community theater event, the actors are good, but not good enough to be paid for their work. That was how the service felt from the moment I walked out of the elevator. What should have been a graceful dance was more like a funeral dirge. The reservation seemed like it didn't matter, the host was almost curt but not in a "this is a fancy place" way but more of a, "I just don't care about you" way. The chairs and tables in the lounge that I was asked to wait at were dirty, the cocktail waitress (or possibly the bartender?) ignored me and the mess of empty drinks that were clearly not mine on the table in front of a surprising comfortable chair. Again, you can see the dichotomy, great furnishings made moot by poor bussing and people management. There are few things that turn me off more than being asked to sit at a dirty table and wait when I took the time to make a reservation and then not even being offered a drink while having to sit and look at a table littered with half empty glasses of who knows what. It was sort of disgusting that I was about to pay for this experience. The phrase that keeps coming to mine while writing this review is "a Mickey Mouse organization". It's like they want to be Vegas but they can't even manage to put signs up downstairs directing you to this "high class" restaurant. I honestly could go on for a few dozen more paragraphs about everything that was wrong with this piss poor excuse for a fine dinning establishment but honestly I am just tired of dwelling on what was an almost 300 dollar waste of time. I would have been better off loosing the same amount of money at the craps table downstairs because at least then I would have had a good experience. Save yourself the time and money, go elsewhere.

First off I am lucky to say I got to experience this beautiful restaurant atop the Muckelshoot Casino. Beautiful views from the 19th floor all around. We sat in the private room which I was not mad about at all. We ordered a slew of the appetizers and all of them were fantastic. From the ceviche to the 19th floor seafood tower. The tower itself was a steep $190 but came with many different seafoods. The scallops that sat atop were by far my favorite(luckily for me no one else was a fan of scallops. The mussels tasted as if they were smoked and were a close second. Oysters were great and there were a hefty amount of sauces to choose from at the bottom of the tower. I did not have either the crab or lobster, but the crab was gone in seconds. The lobster however I was told was weird and I don't think was finished by anyone of our party of 8 which is disappointing. The appetizer bread was not only a pleasure to look at but soooo good, served with truffle butter. I wanted to take more loaves home, but I don't think was allowed. Our server(which I don't remember his name), but he was top notch. Answered any questions on ingredients and his preferences on the menu. He was quick and very friendly. Now when it came to the main course the presentation was great but the delivery was not what I had hoped. I ordered the dry aged Ribeye medium rare and it came out a little in the medium side. For a steak that was close to tipping the $100 mark($85) I would hope that it would be cooked just right. There was a large amount of gristle left when I was finished but a medium rare steak I would hope the fat would melt in your mouth. It did not. But the experience and most of the menu items were great. I do recommend if you're looking for a nice steak in Auburn this is probably the way to go as there were a plethora of different cuts. If I do visit again I will definitely explore the menu more!

Ok gave this place 2 star because the view was beautiful!! Our waitress was great. They give out baskets of sea salt bread, it was soft and fluffy! But our entree was disappointing! We ordered the upper choice 22 ounce cowboy steak. Had them prepared it medium cook. Which came out beautiful.....But the steak was soooo chewy and tough to eat. For a brand new restaurant that looks high end, the food should've been better.

We had a lovely time on Saturday night. We were a bit early for our reservations so we sat at the bar and had a drink. The drinks were great. For dinner we split a porterhouse (we could have shared with a 3rd person) it was delicious. My husband started with the wedge salad, he enjoyed it. I had the field green salad which was fine but not spectacular. Our sides were creamed corn, which we didn't care for bc of the spice used and a huge delicious baked potato. The house bread is divine. I tried to have a Creme brulee but they ran out. We will definitely come back but have less food. I'd still like to try dessert. The piano player and view were exceptional. Service was fantastic all around. Looking forward to returning and going on the patio for a sunset when it's a bit warmer.

Amazing view located on the 19 th floor. Inside decoration was fantastic!!! Food wasn't what expected for a stake house, I have been to several. I usually order mash potatoes, every stake house has a little different taste, however for the price and food quality wasn't impressive.

My husband and I went here for a date night last weekend and it was phenomenal. It is so amazing to have such a high end restaurant close to home and not have to drive to seattle or further to get great food, service, and ambiance. Plus this place has the most amazing wrap around view, you can step outside where they have these optional wind blocking windows that roll up and down and heaters -so you can stand out there comfortably and enjoy the view. There was a lovey piano player in the restaurant too which made the experience that much more elevated. The service here was amazing, the staff was on top of everything we needed. The house bread and butter was A+! We ordered smoked steak tartar (see video below) and the divers scallops as appetizers and they were absolutely divine. My husband got the 12oz dry aged rib eye and was hoping for a great red wine to pair it with. They had a sommelier there named Benjamin who was incredibly knowledgeable and recommended an amazing wine that paired perfectly. I ordered the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection. They are also amazing at making fancy mocktails! Very reasonably priced for the quality of food and service you are receiving. We cannot wait to return here for another date night.
