Drool and IG worthy bakery!!I am from out of town so I went on to Yelp to look for a bakery to make the cake for my friend's baby sprinkle. I decided to buy her a custom cake less than two weeks before the day and was in a bind. Luckily I reached out to Small Cakes and Christian and they were able to make it happen. I sent them pictures of what I wanted and made delivery arrangements over the phone. Very easy process. Christian gave me a heads-up before delivery and it was right on time! When I saw it, I was so happy! I knew the expectant mother was going to be so happy with it!Now even better was that this cake was one of the moistest, decadent, but not too overwhelming chocolate cakes I've ever had in my life. I ordered chocolate cake with whipped cream filling worried that it may be too sweet or rich for us considering we had an Asian palette. Nope, absolutely perfect. It was so good that I wanted more. Usually I will stop at one piece, but it was so easy to eat that I had to save myself from three slices. Thank you again for the wonderful job! I will definitely order again next time I'm in the Phoenix area!

Stay away from this business. Horrible customer service from the guy named christian. All he wants is your credit card info. Contacted him 10 days prior to cake being made and we had to cancel cause we weren't coming to town anymore. When ordering I asked what's the policy on cancelation and he said there isn't any confirming ahead of time. Well sure enough he wouldn't refund us canceling 10 days prior. He offered store credit, but we live 3 hours away so that wouldn't be any good. I would understand a 10-20 percent ordering charge but not a whole $217 on a cake we never received.

If you are a cupcake lover this is the place for you. Not only do they have every taste under the sun but they have vegan cupcakes as well! They are also a premier cake maker (which I have yet to order but on my list!). A must try: their homeade ice cream. I took cupcakes and ice cream to a friends b-day party. Both cupcakes and ice cream were a hit- with my friend saying the ice cream was "to die for". If you need cupcakes or cakes or even ice cream for an event, Smallcakes must be your go-to! Buy local!

I debated leaving this review but maybe it can help them improve their processes a little bit. I went in about a month prior to my daughter's first birthday to put in a decent sized order of cupcakes and a smash cake. I talked to a gentleman whose name I can't remember but we discussed an ombré pastel colors rainbow cake. I told him it was rainbow themed and he came up with the concept. It sounded like he knew exactly what I wanted. I paid a pretty high premium for their smallest sized cake, two dozen custom cupcakes to match the rainbow cake as well as a dozen mini cup cakes. He wrote this down, I assumed, on a piece of paper and put it away in a note book. I asked if there was a confirmation or anything, nope you just pick up the day of. I asked for a receipt and was on my way. Come day of the party, I come to pick up my rainbow cake and cupcakes and they're all beige. No color in sight. I was so confused and sad since they were for my daughter's first birthday that was rainbow themed and I splurged to get something custom. The frosting on the cupcakes was also beige. There was nothing unique or custom about any of it. I could have purchase these anywhere included the grocery store for a fraction of the price. The worker who helped me pack up was not who I discussed the order with so I just left with what they had for me as the party was starting in 30 minutes. Clearly there was a huge miscommunication and notes were not taken well from our discussion. The individual cupcakes they had for purchase in the display case looked fancier than what I was given. I probably won't be doing another custom order after this experience.

Overpriced cake with cheap store customer service. . I ordered a pink birthday cake, naked style with flowers on it. I paid $125 dollars for the smallest size cake for my birthday. When I went to pick up my cake I was surprised with a white cake. I told them this cake looks like a mini wedding cake I ordered a pink cake not a white cake. They said sorry! It's not in our notes. They didn't give me any money back. I asked them for a credit and they said no we can't do it. So to make it up they gave me 4 cupcakes ( I asked for it he didn't offer) In addition, when I ordered I asked them if they would do cream filling like whipped cream and christian said yes we can do anything but the filling was regular butter cream. It seems like there was bad communication and he never asked me question to clarify?!?! So I end up paying so much money for a cake I didn't like

It's not the first time, we have ordered cake from here. But this time it was last minute request and they still entertained us and created an awesome cake for my wife B'day. You never go wrong with Smallcakes.

I got the 6 giant cupcakes for 22 special and they were worth every penny. I got both the vanilla with chocolate and sprinkles and the chocolate cupcake with chocolate sprinkles all were delicious and as a bonus the box they used for packaging prevented them from moving around while I drove home which is perfect for a klutz like me. Also I would have taken a picture of said cupcakes but me and my family ate all 6 before I could post a pic for this review So check them out their a nice small business that makes their own ice cream as well, and one last note the young women who took my order was very sweet and patient while I was figuring things out which for someone on the autistic spectrum like myself is greatly appreciated.

Small Cakes is my Favorite cake bakery in the World. I have traveled to so many different places, such as London, Paris, Rome, New York, Napels, Switzerland, Germany, Prague, Spain, Austria, India, Budapest and other 20 + places overseas..but I never had cakes as delicious as Small Cakes. I especially Love Small Cakes's vaniia cake with chocolate icing, Best in the World!!!

Spoke to a gentleman on the phone, presumably the owner from the sound of it, and asked for a very small cake with black frosting and writing on it with celestial symbols.He told me to come in and talk about it, and when I got there we had no conversation or reference photo, just it's $150 for this tiny cake.Had I known they were going to be that ridiculous, he could've just told me the price over the phone instead of having me drive all the way there to be disappointed.
