Slim's

A small fast food spot. With all of the core items and their own creations. The cashier is super nice and friendly. Able to help me pick a great item here. Got the slim burger, which is Italian beef meat on the burger. It's very satisfying and meaty. The only thing is that the menus doesn't list the price. There is a footernote on the menu saying to go online to find real-time price. Pretty annoy if you are trying to figure out how much you want to spend.

I normally love these little greasy hole in the walls but I just didn't get a great vibe from this place. It has a weird vibe to it and while they have some modern technology the machine that we placed our order on didn't submit the order even though we were charged. So we started off a little rough. But the young man behind the register jumped in to help us out quickly! We ordered their burger specials with bacon and cheese fries. My daughter joined us for this trip and got the chicken po'boy which wasn't really a po'boy, but it was really good and the sauce that came with it was delicious! The burgers I believe are frozen, not hand packed, but they were good, nothing to brag about and the was well done and I ended up taking mine off because it was too crunchy. The fries were good, they are fresh cut fries, the cheese sauce needs some help, we didn't even use it because of the lack of flavor. The pop machine was also down so we were offered cans after we ended up paying for the soft drinks on the machine... so that was also a bumbum! Overall, if you want an average burger and fry and you're in the area check them out. Oh yeah, and I believe that a member of the ownership came in while we were there and went behind the counter, while there was a few people standing in line to make themselves a few milkshakes and then left. Weird. And good luck with parking you have to street park because the lot at the corner will tow. So you will need to pay for street parking. Sorry Slims I really wanted to like you more.

I liked this place. The workers were very nice. The restaurant is very small, has about four booths but when me and a friend went in we were the only ones in there. The food was solid, a bit expensive but pretty good. I got the cheeseburger combo with a strawberry shake and regular fry. The fries were way too salty and the burger was just okay. I've had better. I also got the mozz sticks, they were beer battered which I'm not really a fan of but my friend liked them. Overall I would come back and probably order something different and ask for light salt on my fries.

I don't know about the rest of their food but the hot dog. Oh. My. Gawd!!! I wish I'd gotten two instead of just one!! The bun was so delicious, the pickle, the dog, everything was so well balanced until we meet again Chicago, I'll be dreaming of that hot dog lol

still sells chicago's best milkshake. i was in the area and got a peanut butter milkshake. fast, friendly service and the price can't be beat. i cannot recommend it enough.

20 bux for mozzarella sticks and a dry patty burger. Mozzarella was hard as well. Interior was clean but I can't justify paying that much for a double cheeseburger and 5 mozzarella sticks. Too expensive for probably a 6/10 burger.

Slim's is a great local, slightly above average, fast food option. They don't bother with those grey frozen burger patties found at many competitors. .. nothing but Creekstone Farms beef here! The prices reflect the fresh ingredients and upgrades like brioche buns. 3.39 overall. I tried to convince myself to generously round up considering the service and the never frozen burger patties, but. ..that wouldn't be fair to the other 4 star restaurants.I don't like their Chicken Strips, but they are popular. I find they lack seasoning and are chewy. Not worth a special trip, but absolutely check out if you live in the neighborhood. Open til 9pm.

I got the spicy chicken club, wife got the gyro - both incredible! Fast service, great quality. Awesome local spot to grab lunch or dinner. Also very clean!

Old school hog dog place with a great dog, hand cut fries, and a solid shake available in a large variety of flavors. I can't wait to come back and try the beef sandwich. Only thing I didn't like about this place is you have to order your food on a tablet like device that I struggled with to place my order. Seems like it would be a lot more efficient to have an employee there that knows the device well taking orders to make it quicker, but I got through it.

Way too expensive for what you get; smaller portions of bland, frozen food. Service is spotty but one of the owners is at least nice. Won't be back and suggest you spend your money elsewhere. There are plenty of great hotdogs, burgers, beefs and shakes in Chicago but you won't find any of them here..
