Slice of Heaven

I recently ordered a custom cake for my sister's 30th birthday and she had a very particular vision in mind. Every interaction I had with Marci and the staff at Slice of Heaven was effortless and professional. The care and attention they put their work is obvious and I would recommend them if you're looking for a custom cake in Bellingham!

So do you know this strawberry crunch ice cream pops you would get as a kid at the local ice cream truck? They have these flavors in a cake! I tried the Strawberry Crunch Cake and the lemon bar because well, I'm a sucker for a lemon bar, and both were delicious. I am not even a buttercream fan but this was well done. The people were super sweet, and oh my goodness they have orange creamsicle cookies I am going to have to try soon. And for our vegan friends they have options there too! They also advertised a baked lasagna, so savory is also available. The cafe seating is lovely, warm, even with all the window, completely a place to come and have coffee and a sweet and do some work.

If Buddy is the Cake Boss, Marci is the Cake CAPO. The cakes are stunning, and they're almost too good to eat. ALMOST. For my birthday, there was no other place I wanted to go to treat myself to a slice. She has a fantastic variety: chocolate, berry, fruit, vanilla...and even though I dislike most frosting, I can't get enough of her buttercream. The cakes are very tall, but hold together and look like they belong in a magazine spread. My birthday slice was a lemon raspberry - lemon cake with raspberry puree between each layer, and a light lemon buttercream frosting. My "Just because I want it" slice a few weeks ago was a blackberry cake with blackberry puree in Bavarian cream. Both were thick and very moist, and the flavor was consistent throughout. There are other pastries and savory food options for breakfast and lunch, which I'll try at some point, but for me, right now it's all about the cakes. Some day I will order a whole one for an event, but no promises that I won't eat it all myself.

This is my first visit to Slice of Heaven and I thought it was great! When I walked in I was greeted by a friendly lady who was happy to answer all my questions. The other staff I saw were also friendly when I said hi. I got to try a sample of a Nanaimo bar and it was delicious! There were some other options to sample also. I loved the signs around with fun sayings! There's also some seating to hang out with friends. They also have gift cards, soup, ice cream, and ice cream sandwiches. I will be back because there is much more to experience! I have my eye on those ice cream sandwiches and lavender lemonade!

Wow. Talk about a sweet treat. Slice of Heaven does not lie. I had lunch there and could not resist taking a couple of treats home. The sliders (turkey cheddar) were great and surprisingly filling. They also have soups,sandwiches and Lasagne among other delights. But the main attraction is the sweets. There is Ice Cream (sandwiches, cones and cups),baked goods(brownies, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes, and cakes) look at the photo of the display as I may have forgotten something. I will be back!

We stopped by in hopes of finding a cake that could work as a birthday cake.. we ran out of luck there.. we were very lucky to find this bakery open today, New Year's Eve! We did find this place stocked full of delicious bars, treats, cookies, and cupcakes. We decided to get an assortment.. so many items it was difficult to choose. Many GF options (seriously a whole shelf!) if you are looking for GF. The lady who waited on us was attentive and quick to assist us. This place also has many food items but barely caught a glimpse as we were in a hurry but we definitely need to come back for lunch one day! Lots of tables, cozy spaces, games/toys/puzzles.. parking lot it's more than adequate (off street parking). A winner! We will definitely come back again!

Bakery goods here are top notch! I had a cake with berries that was truly one of the best cakes I have ever had. Lunch foods were pretty good as well. I had a roast beef sandwich and chicken poblano soup combo and it was standard. Service here was very friendly and kind. Food came out quick as well. They have a cute little outdoor patio to eat on as well which I enjoyed!

This cake is delicious. Pretty convenient location combined with yummy cake! I've been here twice and will be back for sure to try more cake flavors. Love it.

Drove to the shop today because these pictures looked amazing. From the outside we didn't really know what to expect but once we got inside it was bright and welcoming. The people working inside were so friendly and helpful. We ended up getting a few different cookies, bars and a slice of chocolate raspberry cake. We haven't tried everything yet but that cake... I would drive hours to get that incredible cake!

Everyone here was so friendly and helpful even though we came in 20 minutes before they close on Christmas Eve. The feel is welcoming as soon as you walk in the door.We got some bars and some lunch, everything tasted like a little.slice of heaven.The lasagna with scratch made sauce was as good as I have had in expensive Italian restaurants, well worth the price.The loaded garlic bread was amazing I swear I heard angels singing while I was eating it and dipping in the lasagna sauce.The clam chowder had superb flavor with lots of yummy chunks of goodness.
