I have been here twice. Once on the weekend when it was mostly full, once on a weekday when we were the only people there. Not expected as the place serves really good meals. Fresh, inventive experience both times. This last visit I had the Chilaquiles and their take on it was outstanding. A bit elevated, but really in a good way. Highly recommend coming here. The place is sparsely decorated, but functional. I will be going back to Sissie's

Conveniently located near North Park Theological Seminary, Sissy's is a wonderful spot that I would gladly travel a little farther to visit. The food is not only delicious but also made with fresh ingredients. They serve high-quality coffee that is freshly made to order. While the decor is simple and unpretentious, it creates a clean and inviting environment, making it a great choice for lunch meetings with colleagues.

First time here and my fiancé and I were craving Puerto Rican food. The place is in front of North Park and has street parking only! I wanted a jibarito but accidentally ordered the steak sandwich which is on ciabatta bread. Regardless, the sandwich was good and Filipino. I got it with a side of plantain chips which wasn't oily at all. My fiancé got the smoked salmon bagel which is pretty basic but very filling.

Great ambiance, great vibes, great service, excellent, fresh, delicious food! Today I ordered three plantain steak sandwiches, one steak sandwich and their coconut lemonade. The food was incredible and the coconut lemonade was a nice accompaniment to the sandwich. It wasn't overly sweetened and tasted so naturally refreshing.I've had many steak plantain sandwiches but Sissy's truly delivers it super fresh and perfectly made! I swear I didn't even wait for our food because it came out quickly and it was piping hot. I encourage everyone to check out this cute spot! You won't be disappointed. They make their sauces house made as well. Their passion fruit salad dressing is truly unique! I really enjoyed my experience here. Thank you very much!

The food is so good here I don't have a single picture of it! I rip in to it every single time and leave stuffed and satisfied. The tamales are delicious. Their homemade sauces are amazing. The staff is friendly and the food is very affordable. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Geeen sauce Chilaquiles with steak added is my go to for breakfast. The steak has very good flavor and the rice is delicious. The mango smoothie with milk tastes very natural unlike places that use mango powder. My favorite lunch item is the steak plantain sandwich here with sweet potato chips. The green & red salsa is very good. They will sell you sauce if you ask for it too.

Very neighborhood should have a Sissy's. So much better than a chain restaurant. The name Sissy refers to the three sisters that own and work here. Menu is typical diner fare with a Mexican flair, and all cooked to order. Very clean. Kitchen is "in" the restaurant. No frills, but also no drama. Plenty of kitchen staff for the size and all the staff do look related to each other. Mexican music playing at a reasonable level, and everyone is efficient and nice. Not gourmet, but can see how it would be packed while Northpark University across the street is in session. Reminds me of the University Diner on University Place in NY's Greenwich Village. It was Greek owned and a great place for breakfast or lunch, especially if nursing a hangover. Another plus, the iced coffee is exactly how my mother used to make it.Lovely place, especially when school is not in session.
